So evidently in China Nvidia and Nintendo have teamed up for an official Wii Emulator for the Shield. Hope the link works. Copied it from another app.

They've only released a few games, I doubt it makes it to many other regions and I realize there's other options for that sort of thing already if you're willing to put forth the effort. That said, I thought it was a cool read and it'd be neat if they did bring it to other regions.

Dolphin doesn't work too badly on Shield TV, but it would be good if Nintendo threw us a bone. I think that I read something about Nintendo not having an official presence in China which is why Nvidia could release Super Mario Galaxy there. But they probably think it would stop people from buying Switches instead of Shield TV.

That's absurd. No one buys Shield TVs.

Thanks for the heads up on this. It's totally great. I loved Slayaway Camp, and this is pretty much the same thing but licensed. Also nice that you can apparently turn off the ads with any purchase, even a 99 cent item box (and the ads are mostly optional and not intrusive, anyway). Highly recommended if you're a horror fan and like puzzle games.

Suzy Cube is out. Have it on iOS and it’s really good. Like the closest thing to Super Mario 3D World you can get on mobile.

PSA: None of developer Team 17's Android games have controller support (The Escapists, Sheltered, and the Worms games), so buyer beware. anyone expect the  new  tablets coming next month to be better then the ones out today.. thinking of buying  a new  tab 8    got an old  2014  i think  tab 7  now that  works  perfect..    Well besides trying to download games and saying i dont have enough room  Though the game is like 100 mb and i have  900 mb free   not sure why  it says that

I can't speak about the new tablets being any better, but I can say the best ways to save space on your device is to delete stock apps that you don't need or use and to turn off auto-update if you can. In some cases, you can push your games and other apps to micro SD cards too to free up space on your device. I've got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 that I mainly use during lunch time for emulators and movie watching, but I deleted a lot of the stock apps off that I never had any intention of using.

I agree that "Everything" is absolutely transcendent, but I think perhaps you may be underestimating "Icon."

 
I don't really know if it's been posted or why I got it, but play store gave me a dollar off $5+ purchase deal when I tried to back out of a purchase yesterday
 
Pinball Arcade loses the ability to sell you Williams games at the end of this month. I've been trying to find a way to buy The Addams Family, but I cannot find a way to buy it because it's currently the free game of the month.

Anyone know something I don't?

Not a huge Beach Boys fan but wouldn’t mind listening to them occasionally and contrary to the poster above me they are a legendary band.

And the Icon album is actually remasters of their biggest hits so nice freebie. Thanks for the heads up!

I actually just got a new phone, and some freebie Beach Boys can't be beat. +1 on the heads up, as I am actually a fan, so great for me either way. I guess now I need to go back to following this thread, as now I have a current device and not a dinosaur anymore. LOL

This thread has seen more posts today than it has in a long while which I'm glad to see. Android users, unite! No more will we hide in the shadows! Our hardware costs just as much, our games much cheaper or free to play (with ads)!

Congrats on the new phone. I'd invest in a Bluetooth controller if you've got the funds. I'm still rocking a Moga Power Pro myself for my tablet, but I've heard good things about the iPega controllers.

Neon Chrome, Sproggiwood, and Tallowmere are my favorites of the games that are currently on sale, but with the exception of Sproggiwood, they are all better with a controller. If you don't have one, you could try any of the board/card games or the Team 17-developed titles such as The Escapists or the Worms games. Any of the Worms games can be fun on a phone since they are turn based. I generally buy everything that's free unless it has weird permissions, and then I delete the freebies if they suck. Buff Knight Advanced is a surprisingly fun endless runner crossed with a role playing game. It's free and controller not required.

And don't forget you can always request a refund up to 2 hours after you make a game app purchase on Google Play, so if you don't like it, you can get your money back. I think Steam is the only other online game store that has this feature.

The first season of the Cartoon Network series Steven Universe is on sale on Google Play Movies & TV for $4.99:

All other seasons of Steven Universe appear to be $6.99. The only way that I found this was that season 1 is the same price of $4.99 on Microsoft Movies and TV through Monday. Don't know if it will be on sale on Google Play for the same amount of time.
 
Kingdom Rush and Iron Marines are great fun if you can resist IAP.

As for iPegas, I own two of the telescopic/swich style models. They are totally adequate for the price.

Ip-9023 is pretty good and will expand to a pretty wide size for some small tablets. IP-9055 is nice because it has extendable length hand grips, but I had to open it and resolder one of the battery leads because the way the wires were run internally from the factory was able to snag on the telescoping mechanism...
 
wow looking at tabs  now  they have like 32gb of  memory.. mine must be older then i think (2014)   it only has 8 gb.....  next month when the new ones hit    they really get teh games on it lol

Despite the fact that most of the games in this post are currently free, my recommendation out of this batch would be Earth Wars because it is a port of the PlayStation 4 game Earth's Dawn. I don't know why they changed the name, but the game has been compared to Vanillaware titles such as Odin's Sphere and Muramasa, although it is set in the future with most of the characters looking like super-deformed versions of Gears of Wars characters. Anyway, it's a good-looking game, and controller support has been added although the controls aren't set up properly for Shield TV users if they decide to sideload it. I didn't hesitate about purchasing it when I saw it was on sale. Enjoy!

My personal recommendations would be Hell, The Dungeon Again! (a dungeon crawler lootfest that I once played for an hour), Lemegeton Master Edition (the closest you can get to an old school linear Castlevania on Android) and Legend of Skyfish (an interesting 2D adventure where the hookshot from Zelda is the main gimmick).

As far as those that I haven't played, the Rusty Lake games are point and clicks that reviewed well, and Time Recoil is a twin stick shooter by the maker of Crimsonland, Neon Chrome, and Jydge. Neon Chrome is one of my favorite PC games, so Time Recoil is probably just as good if you have a controller.

And Lucius Demake has pixelated partial nudity if you're into that. :shock:

Quicky question for my fellow paranoid Android types. I rarely grab new games without checking the permissions first. There are just way too many who want too much control over my device. I think something changed in my Play Store app because I can no longer see permissions before I buy.

Call me a conspiracy nut, but I believe that Google is secretly plotting to make country music fans out of all of its users with all the free albums it's been giving away.

And, that Beach Boys - Pet Sounds sampler only includes 3 songs, but it's free, and one of them is "God Only Knows." I'm just thankful that I don't have to play Bioshock Infinite up to that one part anymore just so I can hear it. :bouncy:
