I didnt contact BBY; it got cancelled I raged a lot (meaning, for 15 seconds) and then I forgot about it. The email came recently, apologizing for the inconvenience and giving me $10 off on my next purchase. They guaranteed my business for the next year or two with that. $10 goes a long way, mate.

I actually canceled my order before Best Buy canceled everyone's (maybe a couple of days before) and still got the code. That being said, I probably wouldn't agree with anyone who feels left out for not getting a code since Best Buy has still allowed ample time to pre-order elsewhere by canceling early, etc.

 
Anybody else ran into a problem preordering games in store? They wanted to charge me $60 for Black Ops 3 and said I would get the money back for GCU when I picked up the game. Then they wouldn't let me use my reward certificates on the preorder either. Seem to always have trouble in store.

As for reward banking that's what im looking forward to the most when I finally reach Elite.

Yea I got confused when I pre-ordered Forza in store the other week. I only put $5 down but it still said I had a balance of $57 or something on my receipt. Hopefully it will just take off the 20% when I pick it up and I can still get the rewards cert.

 
yes in store preorders don't take into account GCU, it just puts a reserve on the game thats why don't pay more than $5 since at checkout time when you pickup it does all the discounts.  

It honestly is just far easier to preorder online for instore pickup and way better tracking since its right there on your bestbuy.com account, the only reason anymore to do a instore preorder is the specific promos like Madden last year where you got a $10 extra coupon for instore preorders when doing a trade in of the previous years game.  There are no such promos going on right now.

At time of pre-order in store it does not take GCU into account, which makes sense IMO because you're just putting money down (escrow if you will). That is why I do not recommend people pay games off in full in store at BBY. If you want to pay the game off and be done with it do it online for store pickup.

If you put $60 down and go and pick the game up you will get refunded the difference back, so it will work as it should, but there is no reason to have $60 on hold when you get just put $5 down OR pay it off for $48 online.

 
Can't stress enough how much better it is to pre-order for store pick-up on the Best Buy website.  It completely eliminates any shenanigans with GCU discount not showing up for some reason, as well as making pick-up times MUCH faster for some stupid reason.  Additionally, you put nothing down when pre-ordering on line and canceling is crazy easy.

And it's much harder to run into the store to pick up a pre-order, especially when the store may or may not have them put aside, than to have them shipped to a daytime delivery address.

Which they'd do anyways for in-store pre-orders. And didn't they hand out credits or giftcards or something for the Batman AK Batmobile Edition that got cancelled for something they had nothing to do with? I'd throw mmoney at that kind of customer service any day of the week.

 
Loving this list is still going strong, I've preordered a bunch - may still have add more.

Madden, Fifa, 2k16 MJ Edition, Halo 5, BLOPS, Fallout are all done.

Forza is done, but may upgrade it to the console - like the blue console - really like the controller and am going to get the game anyway - nice way to upgrade to 1TB.

Mad Max, Star Wars, and both Clancy games are all maybes. Getting the $10 and selling the preorder bonus is almost always a surefire free 3-4 week rental or a small profit.

ive got madden, MGSV, Black Ops, Fallout and Rise of the Tomb Raider. still debating on mad max, i almost want to cancel my metal gear solid v and switch it to mad max with all the drama at konami. i just wish sony would wake up and add until dawn and uncharted collection.

I feel like I'm in the minority. I am picking up Fallout CE on XB1 preordered. But other than that, NBA 2K15 and BLOPS are only ones on my radar, backlog is real.

Honestly with GCU and the certs, the games are free rentals... that's why I'm trying out MGSV, if I don't love it, trade it back it and break even

well, ive finished witcher 3 and batman, so everything else in the backlog is just cheap crap that i havent decided if i will play or just get rid of. i do still need to finish type 0, evil within and watch dogs, but after playing good games its hard to go back to the rest.

exactly.... I have a huge backlog, but prioritize new games first and then trade. The rest of my backlog are cheap ps3 games from over the last few years.

The games can be free rentals. I just played batman arkham knight for $1.10 totally worth in my book. If I traded it back earlier I would of made money.
 
I played and loved Batman. Paid 48 plus tax at best buy with cert and traded it in for 61.

But out of new games nothing is telling me I must have you. Even though my battlefront loving self might get that one too despite having blops when it releases.

Might preorder Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, Battlefront, and Halo but I'm unsure. But like everyone else said with GCU and Certs it's almost always cheaper to preorder and get at release, instead of waiting for a price drop. I really doubt I'll get to play most of these games this year. I'm starting to think I have an addiction lol.

Right now I'm finishing up Wild Hunt, then plan to play Batman. If I can finish both before Until Dawn, I think I'll be good. Maybe I'll even open up one of my sealed games from the backlog to hold me over. Hell I still need to play Sunset Overdrive, but can't even remember the last time I turned on my XB1. Too many games is never a bad problem to have, I guess.
 
I just received my limited edition onechanbara and the left side was cut for some reason. I got it from a glitch so if I actually try to exchange it for another, they'd have to ring it up again and make me pay the difference?
 
So is it possible in any way or form to sign up for Best Buy GCU online and not step foot into a store?

I can get to one, but just for convenience of course.

I bought a tablet with a coupon that gave me 10% off. It made a horrible buzzing sound so I took it in to exchange. When they exchanged it the 10% came off automatically since that's what I paid for it and it was an exchange, not a return/rebuy. The game might work the same way. No guarantees.

Here's the kicker, that game is $20 > $16 after GCU > Used a Giftcard that was a bonus for a prior pre-order to get it down to $6 out of pocket.

And then they gave me that $10 promo code for a 3 day delay.

Yeah, Best Buy is the tits right now. I can't fathom why on Earth I'd ever buy a game they have at another retailer instead.

Has your copy shipped yet?

I ordered it on BB.com on Tuesday, and it said it would get release date delivery, but it still hasn't shown as shipped yet.
