I'm more interested in playing Mad Max than MGSV. I'm actually going to trade MGSV in and buy it when it hits under $20 in a year or two. I wouldn't usually do something like that but I only payed $32.xx so I'll get like $8-$10 extra plus the $10 cert.

Just a reminder, to see if you receive your points, you have to look under the date you preordered. I already had the base points for MGS post to my account.

Maybe I'll have the bonus points tomorrow, that might be a record.
Yeah, the base points posted for me a couple days ago. I have always pre-ordered in-store in the past and I always got the bonus points at the same time as the base points. So I take it this is normal for online pre-orders? The base points post before the bonus points?

Ok Im pretty sure this will be fine but just checking.

I ordered the Metal Gear V CE online as well as the standard when the 50% off glitch happened. I don't think im keeping the CE so im going to return but I assume I should still  get the $10 cert since I had another Metal Gear pre-ordered.

I figure even if it doesnt do it automatically I can just call and get it fixed.

I've officially now preordered Mad Max and MGS .___.

Now I just have to get around to playing Ground Zeroes. Like right now

Since there is no midnight release I'm doing the same thing. Tryin for S ranks but this map is so damn clausterphobic compared to the Witcher which hi got the platinum in.

I pre-ordered both MGS and Mad Max a while ago... of course they just shipped. If they get to me somehow tomorrow then good, but they won't and I will be angry.
Does the CE of MGSV get a $10 reward certificate?
Yes, all versions.

Sweet, and how long until it gets credited to the account?
Hi SgtWiggles,

Good question, yes your Saga Bundle will get you 500 bonus points. All collectors editions of games on the Get $10 in Reward Certificates promotion are eligible to get the 500 bonus points. It may take 15-20 days for that to show on the transaction but keep looking. If you don't receive it after 20 days be sure to contact us at 1888-BESTBUY. Thank You being a loyal My Best Buy and GCU member.

Protip, game reviews are near useless, especially from larger publications. Play it yourself (or at least watch some gameplay videos) and make your own decision.

Those MGSV reviews, due to the conditions in which they were written, are especially disreputable. Many reviewers didn't even see the end of the game (and the hospital opening wasn't even in the review build, along with the FOB stuff which now is known to cost real money for any FOBs after the first), or just ran through all of it with the invisibility hat on.

Of course, with the stuff that's come out recently, such shady/scummy practices from Konami should not be much of a surprise.

should have bit on the pre-order for mad max. waited too late and then seen shipping wasn't until next thursday and it turned me off of it.

I usually avoid the major game review sites.

User reviews are much better IMO.

So Metal Gear ISN'T game of the year?

I haven't even finished peace walker or ground zeroes yet I pre ordered the phantom pain. Despite how it got near perfect scores, I'd probably still have a chance to grab a day 1 edition from bestbuy later. Or just get a pre owned day 1 edition from gs when I move credit to bb

That would be sweet if you got a Metal gear solid 1 remake when you bought V

Sometimes, but those can often be filled with people who are petty and vindictive, mad that X game isn't on their console of choice or whatever. Metacritic user scores are even more laughable than regular Metacritic for that reason.

And to be clear, I'm not saying MGSV is bad -- I'm really looking forward to playing it, and it wouldn't surprise me if it turns out to be the best Metal Gear -- I'm just saiyan that reviews from Konami's "boot camp" event shouldn't be taken seriously, as they are not reflective of the actual game experience.

I pre-ordered MGS back in January for in store pick up, but I haven't got email for ready for pick-up yet, I usually get them a day before release

Should I be worried?

So I need some advice because I can't find the info to sway me either way. I am going to buy guitar hero live. What are the benefits to preordering?. I see the mic but I have about 5 of these usb mics from gh and rb. I see the avenged sevenfold premium show but from what I see, the premium shows are available to everybody after doing certain challenges.

If I am not worried about a new mic and ok with waiting, are there any benefits getting it day one versus waiting for a black friday or Christmas sale. Other than the obvious response like "well, you get it 2 months early".

If i reserved the XB1 version of MGSV but wanted to get the PS4 version instead, would i still get the $10 pre-order bonus?

I was of the same mindset - those "early reviews" were essentially paid for. What sealed it for me was twofold: 1) watching the gameplay videos of the four or five different ways to complete "A Hero's Way" mission, and 2) the fact that with GCU and the $10 pre-order, I'm essentially getting a game that was already on my list for $40 (and that $10 will go towards Fallout).

I listen to my local gamestop employees. I've found they have my best interests in mind. Good thing I preorderd 2 copies of Haze.

Has anyone gotten confirmation on whether or not the $20 off Splatoon / Mario Kart 8 / SSB for Wii U is limited to one game with the purchase of SMM or if you can get all three?

The king has spoken.

Here's to hoping they will just manually deduct $10 from the Mad max Blu-Ray, rather than a return rebuy to lose out on $10 cert....

Keep your receipt and post in the Best Buy Forum about it if it doesn't. Typically they'll manually adjust it if they see you did originally pre-order and still picked up the game the same week of release date.

Well I decide to call BB customer services, lol. Since my BB hasn't open yet
Rep claimed that the never send ready to pick up in the morning you have to wait until the store opens so the can receive the order. Sucks since I want to pick up Mad Max Steelbook and MGSV isn't ready yet. I don't want to do two trips today yet if I don't get their early chances are I'm not gonna get the steel book :(

You will have to return/rebuy. Pre-order pickups aren't processed like a purchase, and you cannot add things to it. It works out ok if they send you something (like they did for Inifinity 2.0, they had already sent the bonus figure out - then had a bonus with purchase in the sale paper) and they cannot take it back, but here you don't get your bonus unless you wait a couple weeks. The best you can hope for is a sympathetic employee/manager that will deduct the discount and ring it up separately.
