That would be great if it was a chain-wide policy. I guess the manager I talked to usually tries to limit this specific guy to 3 copies when he sees him coming, but another employee handled the sale and let him walk out with every copy. He was genuinely sorry about it and called the next closest store for me (already knowing the hoarder's MO and that they were probably out), and they confirmed that the El Hoardo hit them, too.

"El Hoardo" is the new Sasquatch. I've never seen anyone do this at any of the stores I frequent (though I'd be more inclined to believe it happens online). I think the greater threat comes from people buying 2-3 copies each. That, to me, seems just as unfair. If your "cousin" wants it, tell them to go get it themselves.

People who buy 2-3 copies, even 4-5 copies for flipping does not hurt you. I have frequently seen local game shop owners clearing out inventory, they come in and buy 5 copies, then their family members hop out the van and buy another 5. Rinse and repeat.

Well, I think buying a copy for yourself and one for a friend with the actual intention of playing them is a bit different from wiping out 5 stores' entire inventory to resell them...

Got my purchase from last dotd adjusted from $15 to $5. I paid $10 cash and $5 rz cert and they refunded me the cash which was pretty cool as they are usually quick to refund with store credit first.

Awesome week at best buy. Cashier let me keep my upgrade and save coupons and picked up the 5.0 pioneer speaker system that is on clearance for $150 from almost $400 (thread on slickdeals for those interested)

Yesterday my closest BB had like 12 copies, I got there at like 11 today, none where they normally keep them, luckily on the opposite side, they had a copy advertising their "top selling games". Snagged that one. Crazy. Also for some reason when I was looking for Kingdoms of Amular yesterday I didn't look under the R listing, who does that, should be under K. Luckily I saw it as I was leaving the aisle.

Augusta Maine BB pulled the ultimate jack move on their customers today. I was there the other day and they had about 10 new copies of NFS: The Run and only one used that I saw. Today they had all the new copies wrapped up in pre-owned plastic marked for $24.99! Not a single NEW copy for sale! It was obvious these "used" copies were still sealed in their regular shrinkwrap and just placed in these bags for this sale. Way to screw your customers out of a good deal... Also struck out on any of the recently clearanced items. All rang up regular price. They did have one 360 Skyrim LE left that rang up $60 but was marked $99, but the box was all beat up...

No they don't. They want to clear stock but at the same time get a lot of traffic into the store on "great" deals. They prefer 100 people buy 1 copy than 1 person buying 100 copies.

"Unavailable" in the stock locator means 0-3 available, I believe. Norman and Moore are sold out of both PS3 and 360. Not sure about the other stores in the OKC area, but I'm not going driving around for a $4.99 NFS game.

The main strategy of any store is to get their customers to buy full price items with the highest profit margins.

You really think it makes any difference to sell the game at 5 bucks or just throw it away if they really need to clear stock that bad? You think they want to clear stock so bad they will ship it to you free as well so they are paying you to clear stock? Awesome that you want to help BB by clearing their stock.

Of course, their main hope is you go in store to pick this up and buy something else where they actually see a profit. That's the point of any sale.

I knew about it, just decided not to order it online since it wasn't something I really wanted. If I went to the store and they had it, I'd get it...if not, then oh well.

Someone had to of cleared out my stores though, I know my closest one had at least 6 copies on Sunday.

Guess everyone ordered online. Whatever i guess, glad i got my 1 PS3 copy. He also hinted that theres supposed to be a big game clearout sometime next week

Several CAGs have reported there is going to be a big 9.99 game blowout next week. I haven't shopped at BB much until recently, but I recall something similar happening like 2 years ago.
