When are they available?
It's random and can happen during any day of the week. Usually starts around 1:00 AM EST to 1:30 AM EST.

Is it the same price in store?
Yes.

Will Amazon price match?
It depends on if enough people alert them to the deal and if Best Buy still have stock available for shipping.

How long are these deals available?
For up to 24 hours or until the item sells out.

Will Best Buy price match a DotD item I already purchased?
No. All Deal of the Day products are of Limited Quantities and are excluded from the Best Buy Price Match Guarantee.
(Official policy of Best Buy but depending on the customer service rep handling the price match you might still be able to get it done.)

Huh. Wake up at 4:30 (not for this deal, sadly that is wake up time for me these days) and after a bit of start the day check CAG and remember this deal, only to find out it is already sold out.

I won't even get the DotD email from BB for another 3 hours and the item already isn't available. Wonder if they will swap out something else (doubtful).

Ah well, I was going to pick up the game for my backlog for $10, not even play it instantly, so I guess the hoarders saved my $10.

Sucks for those CAGs where were wanting it to play instantly.
 
This game was pretty low in stock or unavailable online at the best buys near me when I checked earlier in the week. So anyone thinking about the hoarders buying up all the stock is a theory I wouldn't even mention. The only one I will go to is the one by my job as I saw it was available the night before the deal went live. Hopefully I can get a copy as soon as they open at 10am.

I'm bummed that I wasn't able to get in on this deal. Next time I'll buy the item ahead of time and pm later. Waste of time/gas but I'll know I get it before them hoarders.

I read this thread many times a day, checked back when the prices usually go live, and I still missed it. It isn't quite that simple ;).

I'm heading to bed now - that is the queue for Best Buy to add more stock and/or lift the in-store pickup restriction. So you early East Coast types will probably luck out again.

For those of you that missed out on this deal, why don't you try PMing at Target? You might get a cashier that fails to notice that it's sold out online. In my experience, they only verify the price and not the availability. YMMV.

Loved KH 1 back in the day (and I mean BACK in the day lol), hated KH 2 (they made it for 4 year olds). Do you guys think I'll understand the story if I pick this one up?

Seeing as you hate KH2 and all the games mirror its style (not fully but in most areas) I would say no. KH2 is the most popular of the games (for good reason too) so most of the games follow its format. But than again, its always good to try again at a series you use to like.
 
I forgot to bring the one I got yesterday to get post PM'd today so just did another order for in store pickup. I won't get it until tomorrow anyway so I'll just take back the other one I have.

Does this game have different difficulty levels? My son just turned six so I know he's probably not quite ready for an RPG regardless, but I'm wondering if this game hits a staggering difficulty all of a sudden like most every RPG ever.

there are several different difficulties...you could set him on beginner and he should be fine.

the difficulty "spikes" aren't too bad in this game, i'm sure he can handle it...regardless, the game has addictive combat so i'm sure he'll have fun with it
 
Cool, I was able to place an in-store pickup order at my local BBY. I guess it's unavailable for shipping already, though store pickup is available.
