Hello gamers,

We just shipped Big Lots 22,500 $ 4.00 games and 31,500 $ 6.00 games. I would expect them to hit the stores in Mid February. Once I see them in the stores, I'll confirm.
Just picked up Imperium Galactica III and Restricted Area for under $10 total. :)
Wow, I didn't know they even made Imperium galactica III.

Wow my crummy Biglots finally had some new stuff. I was able to pick up Europa Universalis III and Rush for Berlin for $6 each. Woohoo.....they still have 3 copies of Super Grannies if anyone is interested.

I just checked my Big Lots and there wasn't really anything new. I did however pick up a copy of Europa Universalis III if anyone on here wants it for cost + shipping (I picked up the Collector's Edition on clearance at Target awhile back).

Hi Ihavenolife123,

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Glactic Civilizations. I checked with the buyer and he says we get Take Two goods from time to time, but there is nothing in the works.

Sorry. PCGirl.

Good question. Our assortments for Big Lots are never in the same configuration. I know the ones that hit stores recently @ $ 4.00 and $ 6.00 were in 23 count boxes and 27 count boxes. You see, we custom make the box to fit the number of titles the buyer wants in it.

The assortment we're shipping them in early March has 24 $ 4.00 titles per box and 32 $ 6.00 per box. In most shipments, if we ship a case of 24, it's 24 different titles. Sometimes our rep can convice the BL buyer to take 2 or 3 per case of one title of it's exceptional (like we did with Phantasy Star Universe).

On an even newer proposal, we're only pitching 9 games in one box. They're exceptional titles from NCsoft, so the retail would be $ 10.00. In this rare case, there would only be 3 titles in the carton.

A good BL stores receives 2 cartons per price point right off the bat while a poorer one receives only 1. Then they can order restock from there.

Hope this was clear.

PCgirl.

The rep who sells Big Lots now knows that I'm a CAG. He asks me questions pretty much every day. Can anyone confirm that the new load has hit most or all stores. (If it hasn't he says he can ask the buyer to ship certain districts).

Thanks. PCgirl.:?:

Yep, I was in this past Wed and picked-up quite a few titles from the new wave.

Thanks PCGirl!:applause:

Can you tell us what titles could be in the March shipment?

What games are people still looking for? I have a big lots near me, picked up some titles for myself. Left Defcom if its still there gonna grab for myself. But I think was more than one, I'll try to make a list of whats there still, I got no problems trading or shipping at cost.
In total there's 76,800 pieces headed their way. It ships March 6th.
o_O

I...I...I love you.

still haven't seen the new titles in central illinois stores(unless someons grabbed them all before i got a chance) it does seem like a lot of the stores got new stock of older stuff though (psychonauts, bad day la, etc)

also, pcgirl, just wondering if you guys had anything to do with the ultraman games going around? i have a friend that is kinda interested in them, but they cost $7 usually, and don't look like much more than minigames, just curious if you know anything.

Nice thanks for the heads up, I hit 2 Big Lots today, they were absolutey destroyed. Had only children's learning software left.

One of them still had decent games as of a couple days ago (should have grabbed Defcon). I'm gonna try to hit 3-4 more tommorrow.

I'm at least trying to gather up a stock so I can trade as well.

BL is nervous about retailing one new assortment we have proposed @ $ 10.00. I think these titles are a steal, but I still need to show the buyer what you guys think.

City of Villains/City of Heroes combo pack
City of Heroes Collector's edition
City of Villains Collector's edition.

I checked on Amazon, and the cheapest COH Collectors is $ 79.95 plus shipping.

What do you guys think? Will these games sell @ $ 10.00?

PCgirl:roll:

YES, they'd sell. The only problem I see is the usual BL shopper not realizing the game requires an internet connection and that there's a monthly fee. I doubt they'd see any copies before the CAGs descend upon them, though. Them being the COH/V games, not the usual BL shoppers.

I'd probably buy them if there was no monthly fee.

I might pick up the CoH/CoV pack if I see it.

On a slight tangent, I just came back from my local Big Lots. I saw Scarface and was slightly interested enough to pick up the box to look at the back, but noticed it was lighter than it should be. After closer inspection the box was opened and someone took the cd and case.

Just got caught up with all the recent rumblings in here. And for $4, i think I'll have to see if i can get Oregon Trail 5 and Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. Thanks for the heads up, PCGirl. Also, you mentioned RCT3 and the expansions a few pages back. Are we going to get those also?

Speaking as someone who plays the game, they definitely are a steal. The combo pack comes with a few bonus items that can be bought from CoH's official site for the same price. Getting it from Big Lots would get you all that, plus what is in the box, and then a free month on top of that.

As far as the collector's editions go: Both come with items no longer available unless you can get your hands on them. These would likely both be hot sellers to current CoH/CoV players. The CoV one is especially a steal as it definitely comes with a free month, 7 Hero Clix characters, and several other bonuses. Once word got to the CoH forums that these were available - and for that price - I'd be hugely surprised if they didn't sell like hotcakes.

Wow. We've had store employees share information in the past, but this is above and beyond that by far. Having a chance to actually influence pricing is new.

I'm with Cantalus - given that City of Heroes is still going strong and has a large userbase, the game should sell for $10. I'd buy it myself, but I don't have the time an MMORPG would take out of my life. :)

Just in the airport and saw your post. We will most definately put the RCT3 expansions in. But probably not until April. We wanted to ship one copy of RCT3 per expansion, but we didn't have them yet. Now we do. So the game will be $ 6.00 with 2 per carton and each expansion will be $ 4.00 with one of each in each carton.

Thanks for looking!:applause:

They'll sell, especially the combo pack. The problem with the Collectors Edtitions though, is the boxes are HUUUUGE. Some Big Lots stores are already packed tight in the electronics area, and don't have much room for big boxes on the game shelves.

My Big Lots recently received a bunch of pc games (never saw pc games at this particular store before). I saw many of the titles pcgirl posted.

Also picked up Chronicles of Narnia pc for 6.00

Checked out the Big Lots store in Corona, Cali. I picked up Universalis Europa 3. There were some other good games but I already picked them up from another BL. From what I remember seeing on the bottom shelf: Defcon, Hearts of Iron, Master of Orion 3, Darwinia, City of Villains, Thief 2, Civil War game by Paradox. I also saw Area 51 on the shelf right before someone picked it up.

Some I saw on 4101 Transit:
Hearts of Iron Platnium
Thief 2
Hitman 2
Tomb Raider 2 Gold
Tomb Raider Chronicles
Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness

And some others mentioned earlier in the thread.

In regards to any game priced at $10: No. It doesn't matter if it's "worth it" or not- Plenty of games hold much more value than their price at Big Lots, but that's not the point. Years ago when I started shopping for PC games at Big Lots, the majority of them were $3. Now they are almost exclusively $6. I am against any game more than $6. If a $10 game sells, they will start introducing more and more games at $10. Don't fool yourselves into thinking "it's just this one". I will not purchase any game at Big Lots for over $6.

Never mind the fact it's a MMO in this example, and there should be no initial purchase needed since there is a monthly fee, IMO. But that's another issue altogether.

PCGirl, were there others in that assortment not previously mentioned? Or do you think there may be another discount vendor shipping to BL? I didn't remember Thief, Hitman or the Tomb Raiders in your lists.

$10 is high for me, too, but considering the value ("value" being what it's worth to the buyer) of those particular titles it's not bad. I wouln't panic over the games getting jacked up permanaently. I actually remember, probably 5+ years ago at least, when the titles were $7.99 consistently. Then they went down, up, down, up...I understand the vendors can't always buy at the same price, but it would be nice if they could just average the PC game prices at $4.99, since the shipments seem to be split 50/50 between $3.99 and $5.99 games.

All that said, I probably wouldn't buy a "regular" game for $10 at Big Lots, since so many titles already get re-released by the publishers for $9.99 in the jewel case format.
My Big Lots restocked. I got Thief 2, $6.00. Great game.
Wow, there's a trip back in time. Thief 2 is indeed a great game. But surely this is a re-release, and not packaged in its orginal "triangular-shaped" box. Just like when Thief 3 launched, Thief 1 was re-released in the newer, DVD-sized box...

In any event, happy thiefing, you taffer!

Checked with our BL rep about those Eidos titles. They did come from another vendor. Then I checked with the buyer about why we didn't get em. He said that he's real close to closing a big deal with Eidos right now. Typically we buy the mondo load of games, but the publisher fishes around for more money from other buyers for bigger money for small qtys. Then they dump the load to us. I'll get the list of titles once the deal is final and I know they're going to BL.

Damn. You really are a cheap ass gamer.

It's $6, man. So what if they used to be $3? Inflation. ;)

Cool, thanks. I would love to see some older Eidos stuff show, like the Thief titles. Looking forward to it, thanks for the heads up.

Sharing my findings!

I stopped at the Big Lots in Annville, PA the other day. They had PC games previously, but the last time I was there (several months ago) it looked like they had gotten rid of them.
Now they're back!

Saw a ton of stuff... Hitman 2, Tomb Raider 2 Gold, Tomb Raider Chronicles, Tomb Raider: AoD, Thief 2, Psychonauts, Hearts of Iron Platinum, Europa Universalis 3, Darwinia, Defcon, Area 51....

I picked up Europa Universalis 3 for $6 and Darwinia for $4.
Also, Psychonauts was priced at $6, but one of the three copies there had a $4 price sticker on it. I picked that up, too. :D
