I went for Deja Vu and Prestige for $19.16 shipped. Amazoning Deal! I knew being an early adopter had it's benefits.
B1G1 free deals are almost everywhere this week. I recommend checking out Amazon.

Since the price pre-promotion is higher than 25 bucks, you get free shipping.

Credit to Slickdeals and DVD talk for the amazon deal (there are others at CC as well that have not been advertised according to SD).
Wow, thanks for pointing this out. I just got back from BB picking up the 2 Pirates movies, but I haven't opened them yet so they're going back. $24 > $33 (after tax). :)
Hmm... for some reason when I add Apocalypto and Deja Vu to my cart I am charged for both of them at the checkout page.
Make sure you are going to the submit order page. On that page the discount should show up and the price will be adjusted.

Got Apocalypto and Prestige from Amazon.
Will probably pick up a couple more later.

Prime also gives me free 2 day shipping. :)
anyone else get the feeling that bluray really wants to win software sales this week? (the week of transformers hd release)
Its certainly hard to make me buy HD-DVD's. I support both formats but i ordered 17 BR's this week and only 1 HD-DVD (Transformers). Frys does have some $13.50 HD's but with a very poor selection. But at $10 people cannot complain about buying movies i know i cant.
anyone else get the feeling that bluray really wants to win software sales this week? (the week of transformers hd release)
well, if that is their goal, they should lower the price of some of the recent fox releases

I picked up The Prestige and the first Pirates movie earlier. Also, I'm surprised no one has mentioned that BB is also having an unadvertised sale of some BR for 15 bucks. It looked like the same titles going on at Frys. I picked up Hellboy for 15.

I'm tempted to go back and get Gone in 60 Seconds and something else. I'm glad I picked up the Prestige today. Saves me the money on importing the HDDVD over here

anyone have any luck at circit city with the BOGO, it was sounding pretty YMMV on avsforum. I"m getting two definitely from amazon, but the CC list if the best of all of them and while it may cost a bit more than amazon I'd rather get two movies I like instead of one movie I really want and another complete blind buy.

I went to CC, saw the printed out sign, but had a VERY hard time finding ANYTHING. Not only does (my) CC have no order to how they sort their titles, but they didn't have anything I was looking for. I found a Layer Cake, but couldn't find anything to get free with it, so I figured I'd just pick it up at BB instead. Ended up spending a little less than $100 at BB. :D

My local CC is the same way. They do no alphabetize the movies or the cds. I refuse to shop there.

Heads up to anyone ordering the BOGO from amazon, if you have a Prime account its not taking off the price of the second movie. I just called their customer service and they said that this has been a problem and theyre working to fix it.

Just ordered with Prime without any issues.

Just got a PS3 so this is pretty awesome.

I'm sad about not seeing the Transporter movies anywhere though, I really liked those (no jokes please).

Cool. Just bought POTC I and Fightplan for only $19.16. Free shipping too

Would love to get Black Hawk Down and Memento at the CC sale. Sad to hear there isn't much luck with selection. I don't even recall my nearest CC having HD or Blu-Ray the last time I was there.

Ended up getting PotC: DMC and The Prestige from Amazon for $8.95 shipped (after a $15 coupon they gave me from their last Blu-Ray sale), thanks OP!

I picked up Knocked Up HD DVD & Ice Age 2 Blu Ray from Circuit City for a total of $30 + tax, then Robocop Blu Ray and Usual Suspects Blu Ray for $30 total. The breakdown was each movie drops to $15. I tried Kingdom of Heaven Blu Ray & Children of Men HD DVD, but it came up regular price. Didn't try $24.99 movies.

Because every thread with any HD sales gets merged I had to wait 45 seconds to post this in the Blu Ray thread after posting it in the HD DVD thread.

So the CC glitch is still working? How does it work exactly?
I want to know too, because I want Robocop!
Apparently, if you buy 1 BR movie from the liist, any other movie that is $29.99 or LESS, will ring up for half price...including HD DVDs. Apparently some stores also have a sign that states 'Buy 1 Get 1 Free on ALL Blu-ray".

I have yet to go...but if this does not work with the new Fox movies I'd pass anyway.

I was just at the CC in Wheaton and they didn't even know the sale was going on. I asked the manager if they had a list and she said that the sale was last week. I picked up Silent Hill and Open Season, rang up for $30 and the CS almost fell over. It was kind of funny.

I will go back after work and see if the glitch is working and report back.

Got my movies today from frys, glad i ordered when i did, since it seems the majority are all sold out. I dont think im helping the war this week as BluRay-17 vs. HDDVD-1.

IMG00005.jpg

I got my 7 BD order in from Fry's. All of the discs looked fine except for Hitch. It has a Best Buy price sticker on it and it looks like it's been re-shrink wrapped with a blow dryer. Plus, the disc sounds loose on the inside. Is this normal for them? Or should I setup an exchange?

The Blu Rays I got were Usual Suspects, Ice Age 2, and Robocop - I don't think any of them were on the list.

Thats funny becasue my hitch was also loose, my wrapping didnt look funny, but i opened immediatley since im keeping all of mine, to inspect the damage and it was still perfect so i just placed it back in the holder and went about my day.

The Best Buy sticker is what make me wonnder. I'll snap a shot later tonight.
The Best Buy sticker is what make me wonnder. I'll snap a shot later tonight.
3 Reasons:
1. Often time stores will buy over-stock of another retailers movies.
2. Stores send back their overstock and the warehouse sells it out
3. Someone bought at Best Buy, returned to Frys, and that copy was sent to the warehouse

Its happened many times before. Ive seen "Best Buy Exclusive" stickers on several DVDs at Wal-Mart .

No surprise on Hitch as it was a Blu-ray launch title and stores over ordered the first few weeks to 'fill slots'. Same with HD DVD and early releases.

Rats, I already got robocop and ff4:silver surfer from amazon (w/the 10% off promo). That's about all I really want that's out now. :p

When i ordered Samurai Champloo from Walmart back when it was $25 mine came with Best Buy sticker on it.
