Best Buy... 50% off a selected game when you buy another game.

The Good:
Probably this is gonna suit better for people who just bought a system or those who have some credit at Best Buy.
You can mix and match.
Amazon's promo match is very likely.

The Bad:
Try to choose store pick up, otherwise shipping kills the "deal".
There's only a few games that worth a try IMHO.

The Ugly:
The selection is very limited (and full of crap):
Ps3 - Xbox 360 - Wii - PSP - DS - Ps2

YOU NEVER HAD YOUR CAR.
Yeah it was.

A friend and I played co-op through the intense campaign. We had to take breaks during it to catch our breath.

Can't believe the ending to it though. Here's hoping for a sequel.
This game is alright. More of a rental. No plot (John help crew), but good AI.
There is no replay value.

On a side not, Ghostbusters $11.99 clearance. Is this worth it?
How is the replay value? Any achivements?

Not sure if this can be compared to Gears of War.

Was going to pick up Darkstar for the Xbox 360, but the paper/cardboard/plastic sleeve cover had 3 Best Buy stickers on it. One was the price, the other was an advertisement for Gamer Club Program, and the last was suggesting scratch protection. I don't normally mind that stuff when it is on the plastic wrap. Also, couldn't find Plants Vs. Zombies on the DS either.

I ended up picking up Silent Hill Origins and Final Fantasy Dissidia, missed out on the free calender that was a promo awhile back that I saw a few months ago.

Yea, it's an insult to Terminator Salvation.

See, this is EXACTLY what's wrong with the gaming industry now. EVERYONE STEALS IDEAS!!

Gears of War? More like Gears of Terminator 4!! THEY STOLE THIS WHOLE GAME. Cliffy B is a fucking ripoff artist and shouldn't be allowed to make a games anymore.

It's just rediculous that theyre even alllowed to make games that are so clearly a rip off of this game that its sick. I hope that nobody buys gears of war 3 because it's the THIRD SEQUEL THEYRE RIPPING OFF FROM THIS GAME

Well seeing as Gears of War completely ripped off Terminator Salvation I think it can be.

Seriously, the Terminator Salvation online multiplayer was new and innovative, but now every game from Gears of War to Call of Duty has completely copied it.

Gears 1 and Gears 2 came out before Terminator: Salvation. This doesn't make sense.
Wow that video has convinced me to get Terminator: Salvation. The game looks pretty cool and I like the movie. I guess I will pick that up and GTA4. Thanks hankmecrankme for posting.
You've got a strong heart.

Terminator Salvation is terrible, but that didn't stop me from playing it all the way through. The 11 gold + 1 platinum trophies in about 6 hours have made this game the holy grail in the world of trophy wh0ring.
I was excited when I saw Dirt 2 for the PS3, but it's not available online or in-store anywhere near me.
I saw that on their site about a week ago. It was very disappointing to discover there were none within 50 miles of me. Best Buy just likes to screw with people I think. It's sad, but I may have to give up on ever playing that game for ps3.

Absolutely excellent. Now everyone can afford to buy Terminator Salvation and see what all the buzz is about. The game was truly not overhyped and is to this day one of the finest first person shooters ever. At the current price, there is no reason for you not to buy it, unless you are pregant and nursing because of the highly awesome contents!

Fixed.

Also it's great. Watch out for the bandanna wearing terminators. They are the toughest because they wear bandannas.

OK, this is now the Terminator Salvation Official Thread, guest starring the buy 1 get 1 50% off at Best Buy sale. Buy two copies of Terminator Salvation. It's that good.

Terminator Salvation is a third-person shooter action video game, released on May 19, 2009 to coincide with the release of the film of the same name on the same week. It is developed by the Halcyon Company's gaming subsidiary, Halcyon Games, along with GRIN and published by Equity Games and Evolved Games. The game was released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, mobile, and iOS. The game takes approximately four hours to complete and has no extra features other than the ability to change the difficulty levels. The "cutscenes" are in-game renders. All of the main information is presented through the musings of the protagonist's squad and the radio calls they periodically make.
Set in 2016 in Los Angeles, it is an interquel that takes place between the events of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Terminator Salvation and follows John Connor (Gideon Emery), and his team, consisting of Angie Salter (Rose McGowan), Barnes (Common) and Blair Williams (Moon Bloodgood). However, Christian Bale refused to lend his voice and likeness for the game. Rose McGowan is in the game as well, voicing the game-exclusive character Angie Salter, who is an ex-high school teacher. On the other hand, Common and Moon Bloodgood are voicing their own characters from the film (Barnes and Blair, respectively).

Terminator Salvation is a third person shooter where the player needs to "constantly move, flank, cover and utilize their squad to progress." The player must battle Skynet enemies from the film of the same name as well as new enemies specifically designed for the game.

The game features a campaign that can be played alone or cooperatively with one other local player via split-screen. The co-op version of the game enables players to play as both John Connor and his teammate Blair Williams.

The game employs a cover and movement system not unlike those featured in Gears of War and Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, wherein the player can quickly choose to dodge between different forms of cover, coming out only to fire shots at enemies. Staying in cover is advantageous, as the player only regenerates health when they have not received damage for a certain amount of time (as in the Halo and Call of Duty games). Although players initially are only equipped with an M4 carbine, other weapons such as the RPG-7 and M79 grenade launcher, Remington 870 shotgun, and M249 SAW as well as various types of grenades (Flash and fragmentation) are acquired throughout the game. Enemy A.I. is relatively strong, both keeping track of the player's location realistically (that is, not omniscient but using sight and sound to locate the player) as well as actively pursing and flanking them when cover is sought by the player.

The game begins with the war between humans and machines. John Connor reflects on the old days of preparing for the future battle, but is beginning to lose hope by the massive number of human losses. Returning to an evac point with Blair Williams and other soldiers, they battle their way through machines to discover that there are no helicopters waiting for them. Escaping in trucks instead, the group are attacked by a Hunter-Killer aircraft. After John Connor manages to destroy the H-K, a T-600 appears and kills a member of his team. Although they find the trucks and drive away, another T-600 kills the driver of one of the vehicles and chases after the Resistance fighters. Blair and John destroy the machine.
The team travels underground, then above again, battling machines. The surviving trio manages to reach the evacuation point, meeting soldiers. Aerostat drones attack, and Connor, Williams, and others go outside to take care of them. One is killed in the battle. A Resistance team led by soldier David Weston (Sean Cory Cooper) asks for help, but his transmission is lost. The team then tries to make a landing place for a helicopter. The chopper lands and rescues the team, but Connor and Williams stay behind to rescue Weston's team. The duo survives an attack by a harvester, which destroys the chopper. They escape the harvester by going into the sewers.

A rescue team, Epsilon, has a helicopter going down, so the duo goes to its crash-site to check for survivors. They rescue four soldiers, Angie (Rose McGowan), an unknown, Deckard (Joe Camareno) and Dobkin (Nolan North). They fight a legion of machines and then, afterwards, decide to head for an old Resistance outpost, resupply there, and go their separate ways - Connor and Williams going to Skynet while the other team goes to head for safety. Deckard is killed by a T-600, and the team is forced to retreat. They manage to destroy two T-600s. The have no choice but to retreat, but with no way out, the team is forced to destroy the T-600s. Dobkin is mortally wounded in the process, leaving the three of them left.

The three continue to go to Skynet while defending themselves. They decide to go to a tower so they can observe Skynet patrols so as to plan a route to rescue Weston. They encounter T-600s with rubber skin, which the trio destroy. Connor warns the other two about the T-850, which has real, vat-grown skin. They reach the tower, where they encounter a Hunter-Killer, but Connor, Williams and Angie manage to destroy it. There are too many machines on a nearby street that they planned to go down, so the three decide to go to Union Station at the subway, following all tracks to Skynet.

They traverse their way to a hidden survivalist camp. The survivalists seem to, at first, not trust them (because of the T-600s with skin), but they manage to gain their trust. They say they have not encountered Skynet for a long time. The leader, named Warren (Ed O' Ross), leads him to Barnes (Common), who will supply them. Machines come, and Connor, Williams and Barnes fight off the machines while Warren and Angie evacuate the area. Barnes reveals to Connor that machines actually come every two months. They destroy the machines with detonators, and everybody evacuates by train. Connor and Williams defend the train by missile laucher. They stop to rescue other people from machines and succeed. They escape, but the train derails, so they go on foot to a truck depot, meeting up with other soldiers. Warren drives a school bus, while Connor and Williams defend it, eventually saving the bus. They go their separate ways, but Warren says they can visit them anytime. Warren still has doubts of their plan, saying that they could not communicate as long as a Skynet communications tower still stands. Barnes joins the three, saying he's tired of running and wishes to join the Resistance.

Battling numerous machines to infiltrate the Skynet compound, an alarm is accidentally triggered when Connor steals important documents. While Barnes sets up explosives, Connor, Angie and Blair hold off T-600s and T-7-Ts. While the explosives go off, they run into the elevator to escape. However, with the control panel located outside, Angie sacrifices herself so that Connor and the others can return to the surface. John is racked with guilt, but Blair explains that he had helped Angie fight, and she believed he could help humanity win.

Connor is fixing what appears to be a vehicle. He calls his base (answered by teammate Linda (Lupe)), saying he needs airpower to rescue Weston's team. Linda says it is going to be a problem, because of a harvester. "That won't be a problem," Connor says, because Connor reprogrammed a Hunter-Killer tank, and programmed it to go straight to Skynet. He does not have control of the guns, though. Warren's team returns, and apologizes.
They first have to locate and destroy Skynet's anti-aircraft turrets. They destroy four areas of turrets and machines, but the tank took too much damage. Connor suggests that they could deactivate them on foot. Connor, Williams and Barnes are joined by three men to deactivate the turrets and to find Weston's men. Warren and the others cover Connor by destroying as many machines as possible.

They traverse Skynet and destroy all machines that they encounter, until they find Weston and his men. Warren's men agree to escort them to the vehicles, while Connor, Williams, Weston and Barnes go through the service tunnels to deactivate the turrets.
The four try to make it to the control room. Connor shuts down the machines for a few minutes, enough time to get them out of Skynet. The four attempt to escape Skynet before they destroy the base. With the four of them safe, they all return to their Resistance camp. Connor narrates, saying that he has gained faith by what he is about to create in the future, instead of the past.

The game was first announced on November 15, 2007, when the Halcyon Company also announced the formation of Halcyon Games, the video game arm of the studio. It had already been in development for several months at GRIN and Halcyon Games, long before filming took place. Peter Levin, a former Disney executive, will head up Halcyon Games as acting CEO. The CEO revealed that Halcyon decided to develop the game internally rather than contract another studio to create the game.

Although a multiplayer mode was originally planned it was decidedly dropped to allow the game to be released on schedule. With Halcyon developments' VP Cos Lazouras stating "It is my opinion to do less better, than more but mediocre. We did get local co-op in which is incredibly cool

The complete cast is featured in the official site:
Gideon Emery as John Connor - a soldier and future Resistance leader who was foretold of the war from his mother and previous encounters of Skynet's Terminators since childhood.
Moon Bloodgood as Blair Williams - Connor's ally and fellow soldier.
Rose McGowan as Angie Salter - A troubled soldier. She tends to not fight at first, but she will be a loyal teammate as the story progresses.
Common as Barnes - an underground survivalist who joins Connor's team.
Sean Cory Cooper as David Weston - a Resistance soldier who Connor and Williams try to rescue from Skynet.

Reviews are in. AS USUAL, IT'S BIASED BULLSHIT

This is from 1Up:

At first glance, Terminator: Salvation looks like a pretty decent shooter, but it falls victim to WHINE same curse that afflicts almost every movie/game tie-in: Underneath WHINE eye-catching facade is a terrible game. Get up close to WHINE walls, BITCH you'll find a world constructed of ugly, blocky textures. WHINE expressionless faces of WHINE characters who fight alongside you are more lifeless than WHINE steely enemies you're battling against. Worst of all, throughout WHINE game nothing changes -- you navigate WHINE same drab environments, BITCH fight WHINE same enemies over BITCH over again. It's a slow ride through blBITCH mediocrity, without any tension or momentum. A game with a compelling narrative could pull off WHINE minimalistic approach, something like Portal; Salvation just fails miserably.
For one thing, you face a repetitive parade of boring enemies that don't change after WHINE second chapter. "Wasps" go down with a single shotgun blast, "Spiders" are embarrassingly vulnerable from behind, BITCH as for WHINE titular Terminators, while WHINEy can take a real beating, you have enough grenades at your disposal that WHINEy never present a real threat. Even WHINE flying Hunter-Killers quickly go down with a couple rocket shells. You'd think WHINE game would present some rising action, some heightened threat, but Salvation just presents a series of indistinguishable checkpoints. You're trekking through WHINE heart of Skynet, but WHINE machine resistance is almost non-existent, which raises WHINE question: How haven't WHINE machines been beaten yet?

Click WHINE image above to check out all Terminator: Salvation screens.
Maybe it's not fair to say WHINE game is always WHINE same. Salvation contains several on-rails shooting sections that break up WHINE monotonous combat. You latch onto a vehicle that has limited camera movement BITCH eiWHINEr a rocket launcher or a machine gun (in one case something akin to both when you're magically able to control an enemy Harvester), BITCH all you have to do is swing WHINE reticule around BITCH blow stuff up. But, just like during WHINE regular game sections, you don't have any aim assist. It's annoying in third-person, but trying to position a constantly shifting cross-hair against erratic enemy movements makes for a series of long, frustrating rides.

media

WHINE cover system looks nice at least. Whenever you press up against a wall, you can tilt WHINE left stick in anoWHINEr direction to dash or dive for cover in a new spot -- most of WHINE time anyway. When it works, it looks fluid BITCH natural, but most of WHINE time WHINE game doesn't present you with a path to places you actually want to go to. BITCH it rarely lets you clear low walls to take a more advantageous point. But WHINE biggest sin WHINE game commits is letting you see your enemy clearly from cover, WHINEn when you try to fire, some invisible piece of scenery blocks your shot. More than once, you'll face WHINE no-win scenario of being stuck in cover (since WHINEre's no easy way to stBITCH up BITCH quickly run out of WHINE way), unable to hit your target, BITCH with an enemy closing in. At least WHINE checkpoints are forgiving -- dying is at worst a temporary setback. WHINE designers knew you'd get blown apart often, so WHINEy made sure you could still make progress; stilted, annoying progress.

In its favor, Salvation does support local co-op (though, strangely, not WHINE online variety). Just having someone to yell at WHINE game along with you makes WHINE experience a lot more bearable. If one person falls, WHINE oWHINEr can go over BITCH heal WHINEir partner (WHINE animation WHINE characters go through it isn't very clear, but it seems that WHINE healthy character slaps WHINE ailing one on WHINE ass to revive WHINEm). However, you can't help out your teammate while you're in cover. You have to fully expose yourself to enemy fire to help out, even if WHINEy went down right next to a wall -- BITCH WHINE game lacks a "duck" button to help protect you. Also, early on in WHINE game, Salvation doesn't make any weapon accommodations for a second player. While it's not any more difficult, but it does mean WHINEre aren't any extra guns to keep both of you restocked: You end up having to race for WHINE same weapons early on -- though later in WHINE game, as more varied weapons appear, it's less of a problem.
After finishing WHINE disappointingly anticlimactic game, I felt like I just read through a graphic novel side-story, but one that doesn't reveal anything new or interesting. From a technical stBITCHpoint, WHINE game is passing, but its narrative, structure, BITCH inattention to detail reveal this game for what it is: Yet anoWHINEr lazy cash-in on a "blockbuster" film. Though it may be worth a rental for people looking for easy Trophies/Achievements -- you earn every one just for playing through WHINE main story -- Salvation doesn't provide any reason to play through WHINE thoroughly purposeless story more than once, If a game is tied so closely with a movie, that it doesn't make sense without its source material, WHINEn WHINE two should be packaged togeWHINEr, but as a $60 stBITCHalone title, Salvation is a complete waste of money.

No, it only works on a 360, what a stupid question.

Yes.

Yeah bros, dunno why everyone cares about Killzone 3 being in 3D when Terminator Salvation did it ages ago.

Besides, we all know Terminators >>> Helghast.

Yes. The 3D patch really excelled at creating visual depth. It's like the game was shot in 3D, rather than simply being upsampled like a crappy MP3.
