[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

There's near zero chance of them restocking the store w/ physical goods; why would they? They're going to stock up digital games and just laugh, and laugh.

Spend coins on OK physical loot and risk missing new physical loot = Kind of lame

Hold onto coins, hoping for new physical loot and all they post is digital games = NIGHTMARE

If you want physical stuff, better grab now and at least get something.
I see what you're trying to do, get people to use all of their coins now, before the new physical rewards are put up in February ;)

Nice try lol.

100 coins till plat T_T. any games you guys suggest thats cheap just wanna get plat for one last time. do the new nintendo 3dses come with codes? might be getting that

Nothing released after today (1/20/15) will be eligible for Club Nintendo registration, so no, the New 3DSXL won't come with coins.

I anyone wants to contribute, I'm 160 away from Plat this year since they cut my season in half.... and apparently aren't giving CNs with the new XLs not in bundles.

Does anyone know more about this upgrade thing? I googled a few things and haven't been able to find it, but I was actually looking at buying super metroid this morning and never knew about this.
Not much more to it...you get the wii code, redeem it in wii mode on wii u, then it makes the game for Wii U 1.50.

Grabbed the SSMB Poster set and 3DS case. Really hope if they add new physical rewards in Feb. that they're not that great b/c the most I can add to my account is probably 500 pts.

Maybe the Feb. rewards will be everything they have left over from the years sitting in a wharehouse and  it'll go pretty quick..

Just to clarify,

You download the code from Club Nintendo onto the Wii Mode of your Wii U.

Then, go to the e-shop and find Super Metroid and it will list its price at $1.50.

You know what blows the most about this? I'm only freakin' 160 coins from Platting this year but because both of the new 3DS' sold out that I wanted I was going to wait to buy. Now I need to figure out how to get 160 points somewhere. (sigh)
Gamestop. They might as well be good for something.

I have like 20 unopened 3DS games that I really can't decide if I should crack open. Added about an inch to my pile so far.
Unless you're going to play them, don't bother. I was looking over my Wii stuff, and there are a few titles I cracked solely to get the codes (no time to play them). Now that they're out of print, they're climbing in value. For example, Kirby Return to Dreamland.

It sounds like there's no point in holding onto coins in hope of transferring them to whatever the new program is. Guess we just have to burn them.

yea they already said points won't transfer over

Picked up the Pikmin/ Mario case. Wanted to get the Zelda case, but it was sold out before I got enough coins. I've seen good things about the cases, so I'm happy to get one at least.

Is this related to stuff like when you get a free game for registering a 3DS and stuff like that?  I haven't registered my 3DS XL or new games yet hoping for another promo like last year's free Pokemon game one.

Yes. You should just register the 3DS XL and games now since it looks like they won't be having a similar free-game promo this year.

The Club Nintendo website is not able to handle the traffic it's getting now.  On a normal day it sometimes takes me 5 minutes to sign in.  Now, forget about it.  I can only imagine how bad it'll be once the new rewards hit in February.

I'm guessing it's probably been discussed, but the notes do mention that the platinum/gold elite status awards are going to be game downloads again.  I'm 115 away with Fantasy Life to register.  Debating if it's worth it.

Well I doubt that code is going to be worth anything on their new system, so why not?

Why not at least register what you have? It's not like the points will matter later on.

Well if you have the coins you may as well register them or they'll be worth as much as the paper they're printed on.

So it does metion that. Let's hope it's new stuff at least. Would be awful if it's like last year and all but three games are CN repeats. Especially if they do as I'm suspecting they will in February and just add back all (or nearly all) of the games they've ever given away on CN so people can blow through their coins.

people will sell their platinum rewards for pretty cheap anyways, last year i picked up a few games from the traders forum for $5 each

fuck nintendo, everything that is unique and special about them they are doing away with (DDP, club nintendo, no DLCs) and they are just copying the worst aspects of the other gaming companies.  I'll be the first to dance on their grave when they get bought by sony or microsoft in a few years.

makin it rain for us cags

Seems at this moment I just lost my coins for Kirby Triple Deluxe. Tried registering it and got sent to my account page, tried to re-enter a message states I already registered it, losing out on the coins.

Also seems that my to-do list is gone also, had about 50 coins with of post play surveys... damn it.

Don't worry, it's wonky as hell at the moment. Give it a few minutes and it will show up in your to do list.

I couldn't find a clip of old yeller getting shot, which is more appropriate.

Guess I'll register all this shit I had sitting around.

Cases were still available to hit order on, but come up as sold out when you try and order.  If anyone wants the Smash poster set and could only afford the Mario/Pikmin case, I'd gladly trade when they come in.

That's not happening. Nintendo has so much money squirreled away from the comical amounts of loot they brought in from the Wii and portables. If anything, they'd be the ones buying the Xbox division which also won't ever happen.

Large shirt is sold out and the posters are ugly. Hope they actually come through with some worthwhile anything next month.

Double post...
I just had this happen with my Wonderful 101 registration I tried to put in this morning, and after 5 minutes it showed back up in my todo list.
