[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here.

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

cool, added it to the promo sections, at least until something else pops up. It says 50 points on the club nintendo site, so I suppose you are factoring in the post play surveys and stuff. Probably more fitting for the Wii U E-Shop Deals thread that Frisky maintains, but eh, who cares;)

It's been posted in all relevant threads multiple times, so we're good on that.

I wish I had a Wii U now. These sales are definitely beneficial from a marketing standpoint. Really wish they had started doing this last generation, though.

Thank you for bumping this thread and reminding me to get Super Metroid

I don't have a 3DS, but I plan to someday. Do you think I could redeem my nintendo points and just sit on the redemption codes until I buy a 3DS sometime in the next few years. Will the codes expire after a while?

I was wondering about that too, actually. If they start putting up WiiU games, I don't have one yet...

As far as I know, you can redeem coins for games and hold on to the codes. I'm not aware of any expiration dates on the codes from Club Nintendo.

They most certainly do, or at least did. I went to redeem one on the Wii and it said it was expired.

I'm waiting until it hits .30 cents next week on the WiiU VC. I'd rather just spend the .30 cents and not waste my point supply.
What time exactly do the games you can buy with coins normally change over?
Around 9 AM PST/Noon EST., which is the same time Nintendo updates/adds games to eShop & such on Thursdays. If you're PST, I'd suggest getting whatever you want today just in case you wake up tomorrow to find they've been switched out.

Also, am I the only one who kind of liked it when they'd have less games, but would switch out one each week? I guess one advantage is having more of a variety, but kind of sucks having to wait a month to see what the next games are.

I hate waiting a month for new games as well.

Also their wording is odd. Available "until May 5th" would suggestion they're available through May 4th and switch over on the 5th. Is that the case, does it switch over today? Seems like every time I've actively been aware of the switch and waited it's never on the date it says and is often a few days late...maybe I've just had bad luck and it's been coincidence and they're normally on time I don't know.
Theatrhythm counts towards Square Enix's member program.
Doesn't mean it shouldn't be club nintendo restricted. Kingdom Hearts 3DS came with both a CN and SE members code.

I just got a WiiU yesterday, could someone explain how to get these coins?

I'm new to Club Nintendo and just picked up a Wii. I didn't grab the two VC games because I have them both in cartridge form. Any idea what I should expect in the realm of VC games for May? Are there any good first party VC games that haven't been posted yet? I found some lists of older items but they were really incomplete. Thanks!

seems kinda random IMO, not sure what you can expect. A list like this seems like it would be helpful though, so I think I'll add one to the OP (if anyone knows what games were available on what months, it would be helpful).

EDIT: done, but only April so far.

I thought today, but seems it should have updated by now if that was so. Probably tomorrow by the look of things.

It's just poorly worded. The text should read "through May 5th."

Cool, thanks. I'd love to get some VC games with my coins (got up to Platinum with all the games I bought) but I imagine they won't be doing VC games much longer.

Anyone hear about the EU Club Nintendo Promo "So Many Games"?

Any chances we'll see this is NA?

Players simply need to register any three of eight top Nintendo 3DS titles with Club Nintendo by 30th June 2013, and they will be able to claim a free download code of their most-wanted game from the range for Free. They can choose one of the remaining five titles to enjoy playing on Nintendo 3DS themselves, or select one they've already registered for the promotion to give to a friend to either share the fun, or experience some exciting multiplayer action!

There are eight top Nintendo 3DS games eligible in this promotion:

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Luigi's Mansion 2
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
Animal Crossing: New Leaf

I was wondering if anybody had a list of past games Club Nintendo offered for the 3DS @ 150 coins besides last months.

Thanks!

Anyone know if Virtual Console Wii U titles will get us surveys and coins? I grabbed Mario World a few days ago and still haven't gotten a survey, but all the 30 cent games gave me one.

Anyone know how to get 40 coins freeish/easily? I'm 40 short of getting Mario 64 still, and running out of time. I tried grabbing Tank! Tank! Tank! but it never gave me a survey, and I've heard that Nintendo stopped sending out a survey for it.

I've got a survey for Super Mario World- Wii U version. Not sure how long it took to arrive but I bought the game the day it was released.

I saw it a while back and there is pretty much no chance we will see it. Not only would this make the previous promotion even better (since buying Pokemon or Luigi was part of it), it would be another Nintendo promotion, which are fairly rare. The only chance we have at seeing it is to get people to redeem vouchers on Club Nintendo this year.

if you want cheap coins go grab a couple copies of Wii Fit from gamestop. They're only $1 (or .50 if that sale is still happening), and if you can find one that's not redeemed it's worth 100 coins:)

Thanks, added them to the OP. If anyone has a list of Wii titles to add, that'd be great.

EDIT: just saw the Wii list, will add them as well...

You can actually get the normal coin value off the club Nintendo site.

https://club.nintendo.com/eligible-products.do

Also, I have a couple of Kirby Mass Attack codes that I want to trade if anyone has an extra code for something else. I need 10 coins to qualify for platinum this year. :/
The Kirby Mass Attack codes are worth 40 coins each + the 10 post play survey.

We JUST had the "buy one of two select games and an XL and get another select downloadable game for free" promo so I very highly doubt it.

Europe had a buy a 3DS XL (no extra game purchase requirement) get a free DL game December/January-ish promo and now they get this promo too. So I like to think we have a shot but maybe late summer and maybe different game list.

As I mentioned before, Nintendo typically does this to force people to use vouchers. Since they know as well as we know, there isn't a perk to redeeming more than 600 in a period, they do promotions like this at the end of the year to force your hand.

Like I bought an XL + Luigi's Mansion 2 within the period, but didn't redeem over losing all those coins next year. However, if you really wanted Mario or Layton, than it was a no brainer (even if you had 600). Last year or the year before that, I broke down and redeemed Zelda for the OST.

I like the sound of that, perhaps CN North Americas cheapness may be in my favor near the end of June after all. Fingers crossed. I'd rather have a good free game then save my coins for next years platinum dissapointment prize. Of course people will wise up and save their vouchers for these promos then NA Club Nintendo will figure out another way for us to waste coins.

Does anyone know when the new rewards go up, since the games are technically "expired" now?
