I didn't see this here yet, so I thought I'd post it.

Go to Toys R Us.com and you can print out a coupon that you can print (only once) for $5 off $25 at Toys R Us In-store only.
Vaild 3-11-07 to 3-17-07

I know there is the gamer gift card at BB, but I can't seem to find any lately.

It says excludes vide game hardware...so im not sure it will work but it doesnt hurt to try.

But people might sas" but hardware doesnt mean games".....well, it says that on almost every coupon they have (cept for one directly for games obviously) and when I use them they always reject it if I bought a game with it.

What are the excludes?
"gift cards, diapers, formula, video game hardware and shippig/handling."
Thanks.

Just out of curiosity, which store do you have trouble at? I see you're located in Brooklyn. I work at the Bay Parkway store and we accept coupons for games. Just, as the coupon states, not hardware.

If you delete your cookies each time before going back to TRU.com, you can print out as many copies as you wish.

"excludes video game hardware" officially means consoles, and sometimes they'll up the ante to accessories/controllers. By no means does it ever include games, which are software. If the employee won't do it, always ask to speak to a manager, most of them know the difference between hardware and software.

(gray area is always games with peripherals: DDR Mario Mix w/pad, WiiPlay w/Wiimote, Guitar Hero, etc.)

I just spent $30 there today!! Ugh...if it was a short drive I might try to apply it retroactively but I doubt they'd be willing to anyway.
I haven't been able to use TRU printout coupons since the New Year. Good luck to finding a store that will allow these.
That was due to the fake coupon that had been going around and some places got overly vigilant and denied everything, including the 12 days coupons. Stores have been notified and have been instructed to take this particular printed coupon.

If you have an issue, ask to speak to the manager. If they won't budge, ask them to check "Hot News" on the intranet.

really? i will check that out since i am going in to work in a few. i have been told we were to take nothing BUT the 12 days of Xmas coupon printouts.

edit: yes we do take them, but because of people like Kerig trying to cheat the system to get more than one, expect to run in to trouble at a few places.

The TRU at Time Square doesn't take those... They said no copies, they even shown me the sample of the original, yeap, they kept a sample just to blow you off (the original is something like a post card thingy you get in the mail, the one she shown to me is the b'day club promotion).

I even told her that the coupon didn't say anything about copies of original at all!

To make the post even worse, i didn't even buy any game (good luck in that department), i was buying legos...

Call and complain to corporate. All stores were instructed via intranet to accept this particular printed coupon. The one she showed you was the fake coupon that was the only one that was supposed to be rejected.

Thanks OP! Now heres to hoping they Have that Chili con Carnage game for PSP!! :applause:

EDIT

DAMN can someone link to an image of this Coupon? My work PC doesnt allow me to install a coupon Program.

I just got back from the TRU is Times Square and they did accept the coupon. But not right away. They called a manager or something first. It took a couple of minutes, but once off the phone, the clerk apologized profusely for the delay and rang me right up. I picked up Diddy Kong Racing. And as I was looking thru the Cube section, I found a boxed Odama for $10. Bonus!

*edit* the videogame department was where I was, completely seperate checkout from where the Lego is, so I guess its YMMV at this store. But if they say no, I'd make a stink and make em call the manager.

I asked lady on phone and she said it will not work on videosgames even though I told her it said excludes videogame hardware on coupon, I dont understand how a videogame is considered videogame hardware??? so I went down there and bought pokemon emerald it was $35 - $5 coupon - $3 toyrus birthday card = $27 :)

all she did was scan the coupon I printed out and it took off $5 in the computer

O yeah ive had a hard time at that one a couple times.
Sometimes they can be so rude.

And you say that you work at the TRU?
Theyve been horrible to me as a action figure collector.....

Ive seen them take somethings out of the box that are rare and hide in the top shelves and then yell when they cant find it again....

I dont usually go there anymore...unless I need something at BB on which occasions I stop in and test my luck...

I also once called in and asked if they had the new marvel legends in. They said no but turns out they did (bceause someone online posted and they bought from there) and I called again. Then a lady yelled at me and asked if I was calling her a liar.....the nerve.

I went there and turns out I missed out on boxes with variants inside....pissed me off so much.

^-----^ what? they actually said the word liar? man, that's so wrong regardless what the situation was...

Never ask a TRU employee, 9 out 10, they don't give a damn, unless you happen to spot a guy/gal unloading the stuffs you want (then it's pointless). However, there were some cool dudes from the TRU on College Point (Queens) R-Zone. But then, the deals were always cleaned out...

Yeah, I dont go to the college point one much, but I love the Douglaston one. Its the best TRU and they are always friendly and helpful. Even If I dont find what I want, I at least leave happily...

Does this print on the Mac? I'm at school and at a PC, but I want to print this at home.

Because, if it prints on a Mac, we could easily make a PDF and produce many coupons... :booty:

The coupon will work on videogames. If a clerk says the coupon does not apply, insist that they scan it and it will go through. There will be an error message if the coupon is used with videogame hardware (gaming and portable consoles), diapers, or gift cards. Trust me, I work at TRU.

Hopefully, my bosses will allow me to take advantage of this deal. We have also been very strict on printed out coupons. God of War II: $49.99 - $4.99(employee discount) - $5 (coupon) = $39.99

sigh if amazon doesn't ship my GoW tomorrow i will be rather sad =( my delivery estimate for the 20th with amazon prime! if this holds true i'm just going to have to cancel and go to TRU!

I must say, that is a clever way of creating printable coupons. They use Java and sends it directly to the printer without using a print screen.

I clicked back after the Coupons Finished Printing window and another one got added to my printer queue. :applause:

However, is there some kind of code that makes sure these coupons are unique?

My bar code reads 5 0009 17442 4 and above it is CPN SKN 917442. Anybody have a different code?

But what if your deafult printer is Adobe :)

I used it on Beatmania last night. The guy mumbled to himself that he didn't think it would work but would try anyway, and of course it worked!

But games are *SOFTWARE*. Hardware are systems: Wii, XBox 360, etc. This is a common exclusion on all major chain coupons since there is minimal profit margin on the systems for retailers.

Better yet, what if you have access to a photo copier!? Mmmwwwaaaahahaha.
I can't find the coupon anywhere on the site, can someone help me out, where should I go?
It's in the front page starring right at you...

Not really, i don't really talk to them, just that i remember the two dudes, one is Asian and the other is Hispanic (i think, he got spiky hair). The Asian dude actually went back to the room look for a clearance game for me, i thought that was pretty cool gesture (the game was PSP, Gradius collection, $10 cleance and i also mentioned RE for DS, he said he never saw that title where he worked). The other dude is okay too, i asked him to scan prices on various gaming items and he's always happy to do so (no attitude there, even though i didn't buy anything).

There was a thread here about a $7 PSP battery, so i asked the R-zone dude (Collge Point) about it, he scanned several batteries, but none of them are $7... I found that gesture friendly as well.

Anyhow, good attitudes and smiles are always good thing, even though you don't find what you were looking for, you still leave the store happy :) (like the earlier Douglas TRU post).

Guys/gals, you can always copy the printed coupon, so i don't see the problem with printing it once and not letting you print again.... The bar code is the same. Personally, $5 off $25 is lukewarm deal (well, pretty hot now since deals are pretty dry), i don't think i'm gonna spend more than $50 on TRU this week, not to mention Casino Royale is out this week.

If you want more than one coupon just clear the cookies in your browser and the website will 'forget' that it already let you print one. ;)

I just came back from the Times Square store and successfully used another coupon. The clerk had to ask the manager about it, but it wasnt even as much of a hassle as it was yesterday.

I got Lumines PS2 & Teen Titans GC for $30 + tax

just called toysrus in san diego mission bay.

me: "hi did you guys get god of war 2 in today"
idiot: "no"
me "um. are you getting it tomorrow morning?"
idiot: "i dont know"
me: "do you know when you are getting it?"
idiot: "i dont know we might not even get it"
me: "you mean you're not getting the biggest playstation game of the year in at all"
idiot: "i really dont know"
me: "you're an asshole, goodbye"

looks like the idiocy and rampant assholeness at toysrus loses another customer! w00t

Wow... you're a prick. We get our games shipped direct and have no clear date on when our games show up until they're there.

So the person you talked to didn't know. It happens. Get over it. Not everyone is an asshole looking to keep all information private.

I know Toyrsus doesn't hire the brightest to work in the R zone but they are helpful. There kept on a need to know basis from their managers so no point berating them. Not everyone working there trying to hoard or keep the stock for themselves. Glad I don't work in retail, would hate dealing with "tude" customers who get pissy when all there questions can't be answered.

The guy at the TRU by my work knows more then 4 EB/GS employees put together. Ive had more GS/EB employees tell me a game hasnt come out yet when I point it out in the cabinet behind them.

I worked at EB 14 years ago, and almost everyone there were at the least, unhelpful. If someone called looking for a game, they would put them on hold for 5 mins then tell them we didn't have it without even checking. Or if someone was in the store, them would go in the back room and take a quick break, not even looking.
but...
This is about saving $5 off $25 at Toys R Us!
Hurry, there are only a couple days left!

um no he's a prick.
there was no pause between his answers. He didn't bother checking , nothing. Just unhelpful from the get go.

when i called ebgames right after?
me: hey you guys get god of war 2 in tonight?
him: nah, but lemme check when we're getting it exactly.

BOOM EASY AS PIE.
instead of being an unhelpful ass, they have the God of War 2 PRE ORDER SLIPS IN THE VIDEO GAME SECTION. IT IS GOING TO THEIR STORE. He's just being an asshole.
Its good that you have brand loyalty but don't look at it from a blurred perspective.

i'm not saying they are hoarding stock.
i'm saying they are lazy aholes that SELL the pre-order of the game.

i've gone in other times and i've talked to guys their that know EXACTLY what's going on. Then i get this lazy ass highschooler
