Hey all -

I'm looking at Game of Thrones, mainly because I LOVED Dragon Age: Origins. I've played that game through more than three times - at the point now where I'm beating some serious enemies on the hardest difficulty (which, if you've played, isn't easy if you've dumped your points on each character poorly.)

That being said, I love games like that. Pausing, choosing tactics, leveling, upgrading or finding rare weapons. Graphics aren't as important to me in games like these.

But I'm reading a lot of mixed reviews. A lot of people say Skyrim is better and the graphics suck - A) I'm not expecting nor do I want Skyrim combat for a game like this and B) Combat and hardcore RPGnes is what I'm really looking for.

Story, is a bonus for me - don't really care for story like so many people do who reviwed this game.

That being said, can anyone recommend this game? Or should I just pass? I want something where I'll be hooked, not a game I'll regret buying =)

Thanks!

Just got my Doom 3 BFG.. I gotta ask, has anyone's purchasing experience from gamefly diminished over time? Probably paranoid but when I first started buying, the games came in perfect condition and i got tracking numbers, now there are no tracking numbers and the games are coming with scratches, smudges, and chips. Have I just been getting unlucky recently or do they know they have me by the balls lol
When did you order Downpour? I placed my order for it on 3/26 and it was showing as shipping TBD all last week. I e-mailed them on Saturday and they said " For your protection, we do run all purchases thru a review cycle which typically takes less than one business day to complete." I finally got the shipping e-mail two hours after that response.

Odd thing is another order for MW3 and warfighter placed yesterday shipped today already.
Oddly enough ALL of my other purchases came in today except Downpour. I never sent an email or anything and they sent me this email last night anyways

"Hello,

We have reviewed your account and noted your purchase of Silent Hill: Downpour on 3/26/13 has not yet been shipped. Unfortunately, we have had difficulty fulfilling this order. We are continuing to work to provide you with this game, however, if you would like to cancel this purchase for a full refund rather than wait, please e-mail us at any time or call us at (888) 986-6400, Monday thru Friday, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM Central Time.

Should the game be shipped prior to us receiving a request for cancellation of this purchase, please return the purchase once it arrives to you and upon its return in one of our facilities, we will issue a refund.

We apologize for the inconvenience and if we can be of further assistance, please let us know."

I would say unlucky, most times I've order I've gotten 'chipped' discs. But surprisingly enough, my order came in yesterday, and three of my games came without ANY kind of chips, much less smudges or scratches.

T-FOC was apparently not placed currently into the case cause it was just rattling inside when I got it, but it appears new and I even got the slipcover which I wasn't sure I'd get. All from the Pittsburgh, PA facility which is famous for the chipped discs. (inb4 chunlirocks)

If you ordered more than 2 games in one order, you should have received a tracking number. I made a mess with my order, so I ordered individually most games, hence no tracking numbers for me. But they all got here in the usual 3-4 days.

Damn, my MP3, Transformers, Syndicate & Risen 2 came in fine but I got my case for Persona 4 Arena today but the disc hasn't arrived. Has anyone else's cases arrived before their disc?

Ugh, and the Risen 2 that arrived was the standard edition. :/ I figured they only had first-run prints in stock for purchase. The Special Edition is still the primary version sold by retailers but it's $35.

I loved DA:O, and I'm a huge GoT fan so I was excited to play the game. I was pretty disappointed with it, the story couldn't atone for how clunky and unfriendly the interface is. The voice acting is pretty horrible too. I would skip it.

Unless the disc is under or on top of the game manual and you missed it, or you currently have the game rented out on your account, then you got an empty case.

I got my games within two days, MP3 and Downpour.

I have to say that Max Payne was a damn steal for $10, and Downpour is better and more tense than I thought it would be.

Both in good condition as well.

My Amazing Spider-Man for the PS3 was in pristine condition. The game itself is definitely dumbed down compared to previous free-swinging games, but everything still looks really cool. My son and I enjoyed playing it last night and are looking forward to playing it some more.

The reason to buy Game of Thrones would be the story. It's really good. The RPG mechanics are not very good. If you would like a good Game of Thones story and can put up with sub par graphics and gameplay that seems 10 years old then get it. Just for the record, I have it and I really like it for the story but the fact is the graphics and gameplay are sub par.
