OTHER INFO

I consider deals confirmed when I receive the MAP on every other Thursday. The Map outlines promos and how the store is to be layed out and includes the barcodes for the deals. Also we get the new trade flyers that day as well with new trade values and deals.

Deals usually end on close of business on Monday and begin on open Tuesday (some special ones do start on Thursday usually around labor day, memorial day, etc.)

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to (and as I have done but that was only because I was tired of crap PS1...).

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

YMMV.

I went and traded 3 games to get NBA Street 3 (GC) for $5. Halo was next to the register, and I wanted to re buy it since I traded it in along time ago. I was going to pay the full $20 for it, but when the guy scanned it, it came up as $9.99. It was the manager of the store, so he just said "Oh, well" and put it next to the door for me. I was really happy about Halo, but was dissapointed that they didn't have either Jade Empire, Forza, or Doom 3 used.

I also saw Gauntlet Dark Legacy for GameCube for $16.99. I was thinking about getting it, but chose not to since I wasn't sure if I would be able to get any money if I sold it on ebay anyways. I remember that they used to go for alot.

Hey guys, sorry if this doesn't contribute to any of the users here, but I just confirmed that the BlockBuster/Gamerush at 2133 Collier Pkwy
Land O'Lakes, FL 34639, is participating in all of the announced deals on the BB/GR website.

I live in Tampa, FL and this is one of the closest locations to the University of South Florida ~ 15 miles... For those who live in the southwest Florida area, I hope this info helps!

I'm catching a ride with my friend tomorrow to check out what games they have P/O... Pretty anxious to see if I can score some good stuff! And I don't plan on being an a$s and flipping. I may not trade-in AAA titles, per se, but I won't try to completely rip them off like a scammer. I'll be back to post if I get any good schwag. Peace
what cities are saying that they are cancelling the deal??
I just did the deal today in socal, theres still huge amounts of signage for it!

Holy crap, I went to trade in some games today, and was told a hold as been placed on my trade account. This is insane. I hardly trade at this store as I'm only allowed to trade 2 copies of any 1 game ever. So now I have to call the manager on monday. This manager hyas always sucked, so I guess I wont be trading there ever again. How are the district Managers to talk too, do they listen to customer complaints ?

Technically it is only 2 copies of a game ever, it's just been variable enforcement, if I understood the original ruleset properly. And good looking out on the 360 stuff, time to switch my Zelda preorder over to something to try and get a deal in case prices go up.

I wonder why people are getting HOLDS on the accounts. I hope I don't. I guess I sort of flipped. I traded in 3 games, got Unreal C2, then traded it back in....but because I did NOT like it, not just for credit. I also have about 8 pre-orders and going to get one or two more today.

Anyways....bring me the 360 games!!!! :) (and the system)
Called two stores today - both said the $5 PO deal is good through September (the Bloomfield Hills store will even let you do the deal twice per day). Anyways, I snagged not one but TWO brand new copies of Fatal Frame II for PS2 for $9.99 each. There was also a used, disc-only copy for $14.99, but I passed on it.
The funny thing is that at every Gamerush you should only be able to do the $5 deal twice a day.

You would be mistaken. You can trade in 2 copies of any title on anyday. You can trade in as many copies of a title you like. But you just can't trade more than 2 in one day. My boyfriend has done this several times recently trying to build up credit to buy a Xbox 360.

Where'd you get that info? I've done 5 or 6 of the deals at a time at around 8 or 9 gamerushes.

Hey I'm not mistaken about this particular stores rules, I was limited to 2 copies of a single game by the manager. The other GR never limited me. This was her rules. If I didn't have such a good relationship with the other GR, I would have probablly complained to the DM about her a long time ago. I'm wondering if this is not somehow related to the connecting of the store trade systems. I'm hoping not. I could see a large number of us suddenly being banned. If this is about flipping, then I have flipped on occasion, but not the same day. I usually sit on a game for a week, then trade it back in to the other store.

I guess I will talk to her on Monday.

I have enough credit for my 360, but I wanted to preorder some games.

I'm finally back in Michigan for the holiday break, all I can say is I sure missed Gamerush. I had a bunch of games to trade in and I'm sure as hell glad I waited to bring them here. Ended up getting $42 for trading in some crappy games. Top Gun (GBA) $8, and a bunch of nickelodeon games i won from some contest, all went for $8. The trade 3 get 1 PO for $5 was still working yesterday when I went.

Picked up:

God of War (PS2) for $5 (using PO for $5 deal)
Wario Ware: Twisted (GBA) new for $29.99 -they have it for $29.99 this week, had to ask for it because the guy didn't put it out on the shelf)

wasn't expecting to see GOW in the pre-owned shelf, they had a ton of games since I last came but I didn't see anything else i wanted or i already had, i love gamerush.

Damn!!! Update on my recent Trading account HOLD. I decided to try out another GR that is close to my home, only to find out I have already been restricted from trading there as well. WTF, I never even opened a trade account at this store. I did manage to open a trading account at a regular BB, I wanted to see if my account was on hold system wide, but I won't find out if my account is on hold at my regular GR until Tuesday (when I go back to work). I cannot beleive I was banned at a store I have never even traded at.

I get to talk to the manager on monday, boy has she made this personal.

What happens if you pre-order an XBOX360 game and then the game gets cancelled or moved to the original xbox. I heard that madden 06 would not be coming out for the X360 and the trailer they showed was just a pre-rendered video of what madden can look like on the new system. So anyway if you preorder a game that doesn't end up coming out what can you do.

Same thing will happen for your regular GR. The manager put a note into your account for hold. The note will pop up whenever your BB card is scanned, which means every store will know it. I think you misunderstood something. There are no different trading accounts for different BB. For every new BB you trade, you only need to sign the trade agreement. You only ONE bb account. Go to talk the manager, hopefully she will take off that note. Then you will be on the boat again.

Good luck!!!

Thats odd, the regular BB did not mention a hold, and happily completed the paperwork. Can the managers put store only holds in the system ?

Did the CSR at regular BB scan your bb card. Or you just signed the agreement. If your bb card was scanned, I guess that the csr was too dumb to to read the note.

from what i can tell all of south carolina is not doing the deal, i call chareston and columbia and live in the upstate and have not found a single gr doing the deal
Did the CSR at regular BB scan your bb card. Or you just signed the agreement. If your bb card was scanned, I guess that the csr was too dumb to to read the note.
She scanned my card, then activated the trade option, it would seem a little odd that a single manager could prevent you from trading at any BB or GR. I think she may have called the other GR because it is in the same district. I will know more when I talk to my regular GR. I don't actually plan on trading with the BB yet, hopefully a rational conversation with the GR manager who placed my account on hold, is all I need to do. Once it's cleared up with her, i will try and get activated at the GR I have yet to trade with. I really don't want to be under her scrutiny any longer. The first time I met her she acted like a complete ass, because she didn't know how to do the trade in deals. She got defensive as opposed to just admitting she didn't know. I'm really disappointed as I thought I had cleared that all up over time, as I have been nothing but polite with her, and have never complained when she placed extra limits on me.

Well, my GR is still doing all the deals....I was going to do the trade 3 but did not see anything I wanted. I just traded in two games, pre-ordered Call of Duty:Big Red One (I'll switch it down the line for Call of Duty 2 (XBOX 360). It was a new girl....she didn't know what was going on it seemed.

Gamerush's in Saint Petersburg FL are still doing the deal... but the employees are extremely non educated about their store.

A friend asked about the 50% off deal about Nintendo games and when it was starting (for confirmation on Cory's post) and she told him "no such sale is planned, all we have now is blah blah blah".

He turns to me and says "I guess the sale isn't going to happen" to which I tell him, in earshot of her, "no, the employee is just very misinformed, I have confirmation from a higher up the sale is going to happen".

Like magic, she says "Oh wait, I actually do have a flyer here about 50% off all Nintendo games... but I can't tell you what titles will be on the sale, and I don't know what inventory we have for it.". When my friend went to take a look at the paper, she quickly snatched it away and put it under a large stack of papers.

He then asked which titles were part of it, namely Final Fantasy and Pokemon, to which she replied "Just Pokemon: Fire Red, none of the others, and no Final Fantasy... I don't even know if we have Pokemon in the store".

I can't wait to go back Tuesday and get Pokemon: Leaf Green and Final Fantasy for 50% off.

Today I traded in ShenMue 2 ($10 credit), KOTOR 2 (18), and Prince of Persia (8) and in return got God of War for $5!

My $36 store credit yielded Kingdom Hearts(17) and Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits(15)... And then the B2G1F P/O meant I could get Dark Cloud 2! (17; but free) RPG GALORE!!!

So for games totalling $36 in store credit, I got $100 worth of games! YMMV as to if your store clerk is awesome like mine was in Land O'Lakes FL and allows u to stack the deals.

I plan to repurchase POP somewhere as I had never got around to playing it. I can find it cheap as hell pretty much anywhere, but it certainly proved worthy as trade fodder for 3:1 $5 p/o deal! I'm so happy...

Plus, I got myself some old school WWF Plastic Action Figures today! Best day ever.

The Tezel store is taking XBOX360 preorders and about 10 360 games. I saw all the ones you want to preorder on the list they had. The games list in the system for 49.99 also.

Yes its in the computer...I pre-ordered Area 51 a while ago and they phoned me to tell me it had come in and was ready for me to collect. Although if you get an inept employee at your store, you might want to hold on to the receipt that showed you pre-ordered, just in case!

when you go to pick up your game and they scan your card it should show up on their computer that you already paid for it. I've done that on a few occasions, and just walked in, they scanned my card, and I walk out with my game

but it couldn't hurt to keep your receipts, you know just in case someone in the store screws up, so you won't be out of luck.

I hate to do this but it's been a really long time since my last visit to the thread...what are currently the best games to trade into GR to break even on your purchase price or even come out a little better. If there are any real good ones right now please pass it on...thanks.
from what i can tell all of south carolina is not doing the deal, i call chareston and columbia and live in the upstate and have not found a single gr doing the deal
Well I can confirm that the Greenville area is not doing 3 for 5 the deal anymore. As a matter of fact, I went to the back to the Mauldin store today and they have stoped all trade-in deals. They will not even do the preorder deal anymore.

If you have a Meijer near you, buy King of Fighters: Maximum Impact (PS2) for $10 and you can get $25 for it at GR.

I appreciate the info, but I don't (have Meijer). Breaking even or coming close would even be great....anything in more national chains? I'm in the NYC area. Thanks.

GR gives $20 for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and $18 for Inuyasha: Secret of the Cursed Mask (both for PS2), and GameStop sells each for $18 used. If you're looking to spend less cash, I hear EB sells Auto Modellista (PS2) for $4 and you can get $5 for it at GR.

Another game that's also not too bad of a deal for trade-in:
Nightmare of Druaga is selling for $15 new at EB and $18 used at GS and trades for $18 at GR.

Thanks! I have a few of these from a past EB sale...
So this just gets worse, I called the store manager and she said the district manager told her to place a hold on my account, I'm guessing they are looking at all store trades for all districts. If so things do not look good for those of us that have traded alot. I have left a message for the DM, so we shall have to see what happens next.

tried trading some games at my local Blockbuster for the $5 deal, but because my name is the secondary member on my dad's blockbuster card, they wouldn't let me. they said it was to prevent stolen product. i asked them to call and OK it but they said they couldn't do that either. apparently only primary members can trade in, even if the primary and secondary members in the card, live in the same house.

hopefully i'll try later today.

You have to be added to the trade agreement, I was told that just yesterday.

Could someone fill me in on what the used pricing of the following items would be:
-Used N64
-Used N64 Games in general (Do they fall into that .99 retro games deal)?
-Used DC

Also does anyone know what the current price of a used Burnout 3 for XBOX? I went to my local GR on Monday, and they were still selling it for I believe $37, which seems like it can't be right since it is now $19.99 new pretty much everywhere.

Don't forget everyone - the new 50% off Nintendo stuff starts tommorrow.

The local Gamerush here dosen't have many copies of the stuff that's on sale, so I recommend hitting it up early. I got a feeling alot of those games will be gone with the quickness.

i just found out the deal is dead in south carolina and north carolina, the same person is over the whole 2 states and cancelled all deals till futher notice

finally got to trade in some stuff,

traded in:
XIII (Xbox)
Blinx: The Time Sweeper (Xbox)
Resident Evil: Code Veronica X (PS2)
Namco Museum (Xbox)
The Thing (Xbox)
Raze's Hell (Xbox

they gave me $25 in store credit, so I got Star Wars: Battlefront for Xbox for myself, and Pokemon Colliseum for my brother, both for $5 a piece. I still have $14 and some change in credit they gave back to me.

thanks to the OP.

Used N64, sports for 2.99 for the most part, or 1.99. Other games are usually 4.99-7.99. Nothing really extraordinary, they are priced a bit too high, IMO. They don't fall under the .99 retro games deal.

I haven't seen very many used DC games, but I'd assume that it doesn't fall under the .99 deal either.

Hey Cory or anybody else that is a Gamerush employee,

With the new XBOX 360 games, does the trade 2, get one new for 29.99 deal still apply? If so, how must it be input in the computer?

I was just at blockbuster and the manager I am cool with tried to enter it in for Call of Duty 2 (59.99) and it didn't work. So we tried Madden 2006 (49.99) and got the same thing. He said he would do it, but it's not going through the computer. Is there a way around this without manually adjusting the price? Thanks in advance for the help.
