Traded in my PSP (as long as it was getting good value and I wasn't playing it) along with some games:

Funny story - I hand over the Spiderman 2 UMD movie that came with it and asked if they were giving any credit for it since it wasn't included with the system any more. He said sure and put the credit in with the rest.

When I left the store and went over my receipt, I saw that I got $22 for the Spiderman 2! I realized he must have thought it was the PSP game and rang it in as that. Between the PSP, memory card, and Spiderman 2, I got $200 back for the system. I'd say that over the past 6 months, I got my $50 of enjoyment out of it.

Just try...You'll most likely have to pay the $10 difference (like I have). I think if you cancel the pre-order, they give you $50 again....I could be wrong, but that is what my store has been doing. Now to pre-order some more games...eventually.

It really depends on the store. One of the GR I go to allowed me to change them and just pay the extra $10, but another (Brighton,MI) she told me if I used the trade 2 for 29.99 that they would just give me the credit of the games that I traded in that day to use towards the Xbox 360 game. So I could only end up getting like $6 back instead of a $50 game. But she told me once GR drops the first party games to 49.99 that I can switch them no problem.

Does anyone know when GR is going to drop the game prices on first party Xbox 360 games?
 
What does DOOM3:CE trade in for. I've been holding on to it because I like the case, but I could care less now. Especially with the expansion pack coming out

It's funny how the Dead to Rights 2 value seems to vary. I got a ps2 copy at Best Buy for $15 and I found an Xbox copy of Mojo at Circuit City for $1.99. Went to GR to trade and the girl there tells me I'd get $21 for both. I figure since it's the ps2 version of D2R2 it's worth less than the xbox. Then I ask for Castlevania for the DS, she says they have it, I get it. Now they have always been super cool to me there. She said, let me see if I can get you more credit! I ended up getting $23.75 for D2R2 and $3.13 for Mojo. A total of $26.88. She said she gave me 25% more which would put D2R2 at $17.81 and Mojo at $2.34 pre bonus. Weird amounts I know so I don't know what she really did. It didn't take long at all though so I think there must be something in the computer that let's you adjust very quickly. Just FYI...

Probably $12 or so. I saw a used one at my local BB for $25..(same as the regular version). I was going to grab it with the 25% off, but figured that 80% of my gaming time is dedicated to Halo 2, while the other 20% has to be split between my other games including Ninja Gaiden Black and KUF: Heroes.

Damnit! I really wanted to preorder the Premium Edition, too. :sad: Oh well, I might switch my RE4 (PS2) preorder to Star Wars: Battlefront 2 for Xbox. Does anyone even have a clue yet to if RE4 works with the HD Loader? If it does, I'll definitely switch it, since I'm not missing out on anything... Hmmm.... choices, choices. I doubt it will work seeing as the GC version was 2 discs, and with all of these extras added in, and the hardware not being as powerful as GC, then this will most likely be dual-layered making it incompatible with the HD Loader. :sad: We'll see. :D
 
That sucks about Doom3. I'm sure the CE trades in around the same price.....oh well. I guess I'll pre-order one or two more games though before the 360.

Also is the hip controller deal still going on at anybody's local Gamerush?

That game is being published by Atlus, so I doubt Gamerush gets any retail copies.
 
What kind of game is Magna Carta? And also, does anyone know if D2R2 still trades in at $27? Or did they catch on over the weekend and update on their trade prices today? If it gets $22 or more I'm picking up 2 at my BB with the GGC, and preordering Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for Xbox, and then using the leftover credit combined with my $22 credit right now, and buying Far Cry: Instincts used for $33.75. Is the 25% off all used games still in effect? I'm also thinking about picking up Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow with other left over credit, plus some of my own money. I am still playing AW:DS and Lunar: DS on my DS though. Oh well, DoS is supposed to be really good, and it will most likely become rare later. :D

25% off preowned games runs through JANUARY 31st, 2006.

I got $27 for DTR2 last night (Monday night) and it seems they have been changing prices sooner than Tuesday usually, so there's a good chance it is still $27, but who knows... I'm wondering what Galleon is this week.

Ya, I never got the first one after waiting a month after release. They finally just decided to give me a different game.
 
Dead to rights 2 XB still gets 27 as of today, and it should be common knowledge by now that GR doesnt carry new Atlus games. (DDS2 and Trauma center were no shows)

Has anyone noticed that Game Rush charges you an extra dollar for preordering a game?

I preordered a game and paid it off. i did the trade 2 and preorder for 29.99. and with tax it came out to 32.46.

So when the game came in i went to pick it up and they said i owed a dollar.. and I was like WTF???
so then they told me in order for the game to become 29.99 the game needs to be 48.99 i pay it and leave.. then i check the math and they did charge me an extra dollar... so i went back and told them that they advertise at 29.99 and the game should be that price plus tax. So i forced them to give me my dollar back..

but the weird thing is that i have preordered at other game rush's and they never charged that extra $1... on the receipt it said it was a "delivery fee" which is stupid.

but has anyone else noticed? or been charged more than they should be??

That's was just an example clueless worker. I had a pre-order done one time, and he did all kinds of monkey math and had to signed the receipt. It's one of those times where the worker should of have asked the manager, but didnt. I guess the worker did not know how to do a proper pre-order, hence the mystery dollar.

One of the preorders I did last week was all kind of f'd up. The manager on duty didn't know how to do the preorder deal even. Worked out to my advantage, by the time it was done the game was preordered and I have $52+ credit on my account.

The manager was like you account has to have the $52+ credit on the account to get the game free. Meanwhile the game was already paid for on the account with a Galleon and NOD. Basically I have the recent showing the transaction was paid for with $5 added to a gift card left over. Then the manager created a seperate transaction with a $52+ credit by scanning a ultimate spiderman (grabbed from a shelf). Sat in the car for 5 minutes with 10 register receipts trying to figure it out what the hell he did.

Every GameRush in my neck of Los Angeles has ceased taking Xbox 360 pre-orders. Guess I should've tried to get reserve sooner. They don't make it sound like they'll receive any more units than have already been pre-ordered, either. Looks like I'll have to hit up a Target or Best Buy on launch day. Nobody to blame but myself...

It is in the system, i know because i preorded a copy, btw its an atlus rpg game. I highly doubt we will get it like the other atlus games that have come out in the past that i still havent seen a copy of.

you are right...there should be plenty of those available next Christmas.

Can you name a major console release that did not have a shortage? (handhelds excluded) Hell there was a shortage of Xbox and PS2 last Christmas.

True that... i worked at Game Crazy last shopping season and people kept coming in asking for them.. and then they wanted to know when we were getting them in.. oh god it was annoying..

same with PSPs and DSs. i have no doubt that xbox 360 will be sold out during the holidays.

And yea it seems like everywhere has stopped taking 360 preorders. its gonna be crazy >

I was lucky enought to get this done when I got my PSP. I pre-ordered 2 copies of DOOM CE for XBOX $59.99 for $29 each after trade in. I canceled my pre-orders and got $120.00 credit for my PSP. It was a pretty sweet deal.

I keep getting $50 back since I'm switching pre-orders to 360 games. Now, if you outright cancel it....not sure how it works.

It's funny, because I asked the girl before and said she would only give me $30, but I asked again and she;s been giving me $50....
 
anyone know if knightmare of druaga and galleon are still getting 19? I was thinking about swinging over to TRU after class.
 
Has anyone picked up LA Rush and got the freebie (Midway Classics 3). My GR did not know anything about this and did not have the Midway 3's
 
I called mine too about MAT3 and they said they didnt know anything about it. I don't think GR had this promotion. I pre-ordered at GS just incase as well and I picked both up last night. I guess I'll change my LA Rush preorder to something else.
 
Yeah, I'm definitely going to pick up 2 copies of D2R2 with the GGC, making it $30 + tax. Then I'll trade both of those in, preorder Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (XB), and use the remaining credit to buy Far Cry: Instincts used, and maybe some of my money to buy Castlevania: DoS. I picked up Socom 3 at about 12:00, too. Great online play, and cool new weapons. I love it. :D I was playing for 4 or 5 hours straight. o_O
 
Good to hear that DTRII is still getting $27. I'm going to try to go by CC today and PM it, since I didn't have a chance to go the other day.
