Brighton GR is going downhill. They will not let me change pre-orders at all now. I have like 6 games on pre-order at this one and I just wanted to change True Crime to Mario Strikers and the guy told me they would only give me $30 toward Mario Strikers...

So far, it's not on the preorder list at all, but it may show up eventually. If you really want it badly, I suggest a preorder at another store since they may be limited amounts on release (due to questionable demand). Personally, I'm psyched for Guitar Hero and am so glad to see Harmonix get back to non-singing music games.
 
Anyone pick up Nightmare Before Christmas from GR this week? I preordered it two weeks ago, but when I called yesterday, they said they weren't getting any at all. Then I told them I had preordered, and they said, "Oh, well we will be getting it." Hmmmmm ... Didn't really feel like trying to push any further. Thoughts?

I also preordered it and just called. Apparently it hasn't come in yet, but the guy "expects it soon". He said it was supposed to come in on the 11th. We'll see though. If it doesn't show by the end of next week I'll ask to switch it for something else and pick it up somewhere. I saw it at Media Play the other day. Kinda pisses me off though because it was supposed to be a Sweetest Day gift.

I can't help with DS values, but if you call your local BB or GR they should be willing to give a quote. Every BB that I have called has given me a quote (the only GR around said they weren't supposed to but did it anyway)

Well so far this month, they have failed to deliver Heroes of the Pacific, Serious Sam 2, Frogger xbox. Their system is so fucked up.

Thank god I have helpfull employees at my GR, I changed 2 of those items to Battlefield 2 and Need for speed, most wanted.
 
for you DS fans, My GR actually had PHOENIX WRIGHT: ACE ATTORNEY! for some reason its in the Gamerush system as gyakuten saiben, thats why GR CSR's cant pull up the info for it.

tron 2.0 is actually only 5 bucks. I returned my copy of hitman today in exchange for tron, I thought it was an even trade off but on the receipt an extra 5 bucks was taken off. It says "$5 off select game." Anyone know more about that?

I'm sure the DS games he is talking about will be enough to qualify for the preorder deal at least - can't imagine a DS game getting less than $3 yet.

Funny thing about the local BB - I went IN the other day and did some trades, then wanted to ask about some other prices. Girl there said she couldn't do that without scanning the games :D. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised, as the next time I went in she couldn't figure out how to get my trades onto my card - after 20 minutes of calling other stores, etc, she finally gave up and gave me a free rental :D. Wasn't worth the time, but at least it was something.

I went in the next day and someone else put my balance on the card in 30 seconds. HOWEVER, this card is a bit flaky - it will not scan on the card readers to give my balance or pay for items - the guy had to scan it at the register to pay for another rental (which I did just to check the balance and make sure the card hadn't been hosed). Anyone else have problems with cards like this? It still makes me nervous - I want to unload that card as soon as possible, but the problem is I tend to get nearly all the preorder $29.99 from my trades and don't use the cards too much any more when purchasing. Maybe I can get them to dump it on my account and issue a new card.

As for that GR not giving prices, h2dk, there is only one person (who happens to be the most knowledgeable about games and trade-in deals) who won't give me prices over the phone, but I haven't seen him there recently. And he would sometimes 'cheat' by giving me ranges of prices, which is just kind of bizarre (like, he'll say the game will get between $6-$8).

Preorder it this weekend if you want it! It is kind of exciting that this game is finally coming out after all the preorder problems GR had with it.
 
Speaking of FE : PoR...I pre-ordered it today because I heard it was going to be released on Tues/Wed. Bought 2 copies of Dead To Rights II at BB for $25 w/GGC and 1 Rewards Cert. and reserved it and w/the left over I bought Unleashed :).

Anyways...After the transaction, I asked when it would be released and he said the 22nd. Everywhere else I look it says the 17th. Is it possible they will get it in on this day or will I definitely have to wait until the 22nd?

22nd is a bit strange - they should have told you 21st (that being Friday and Friday of the release week is always what they quote). It IS being released on Tuesday, the 18th, but like Battalion Wars, it is possible GR might not get it in for up to 2 weeks. Maybe they know something - with Battalion Wars there was someone who said a company email said it was shipping later. However, it is simply most likely that they just looked at the Friday release date (which I think is the rental date or something?) then just bumped it up a day to cover themselves. It SHOULD be at GR on Weds...

If my GR doesn't get FE: PoR in on Wednesday or Thursday at the latest, I'm going to be PISSED! I preordered this game in early August for god sakes! >.
 
Everyone that has an Xbox should really consider pre-ordering Stubbs the Zombie before the start of next week. 1up.com gave it a 9. Plus the people how developed the original Halo worked on this (even uses the same engine).

AoLot, you should know by now that GR is pretty bad about getting games on release date. And Fire Emblem is a Nintendo game and the last 1st party Nintendo game (Battalion Wars) was a week late. I pre-ordered DDS2 back in April, and I still have not recieved it. I figure I will raise hell next week and demand the full credit back since they made the mistake and then pre-order an Xbox 360 game.

Nope. BBV had the "trade 3, get a used game for 5" and "get an extra $5 per game", but I've never seen a new/preorder game deal, despite the fact that they do sell new games in my BBVs.
 
Well, Dead to Rights 2 (xbox) is still $27 as of today. Powerdrome Racing(xbox) is $12. Traded these in and preordered Black for Xbox.
 
I really hope D2R2 still gets $27 tomorrow. I just bought 2 copies of it from my BB for $32 and I'm going to preorder BF2: MC (XB) with them, and then with the left over buy Far Cry: Instincts when it comes in used. :D I think I dropped like $5 on the floor at the BB or my brother took it when I handed him the money to pay for D2R2... bastard. :D

Just checked my receipt, and Tron was the free game in my set. Damn, if I had known about that, I would have switched the order. Oh well.

I wonder if it was just a fluke though, from the TRU thread every seems to think tron 2.0 is 10 bucks, but maybe everyone was having that as their free game. I'm going back Monday to ask more questions about it so I'll update everyone as soon as I know more.

How do I go about seeing reviews on 1up.com? I have an account and everything but when I go to read the reviews it's just one sentence.

It will be even better when it drops to $10 at TRU next Thursday, and STILL gets $27 in trade in credit. Does Gamerush take two trades of the same game for their preorder deal? $20 dollars gets you $54 in credit, you'd still have $24 left over after doing the trade 2 preorder a game for $30 deal.

Can't wait to use this for GTA: Liberty City Stories :D

Yeah, you can do two copies at a time. I traded in two Trivial Pursuits last time. I probably won't do two copies of D2D2 this time, as I've traded in one. Even though their rules are 2 copies per visit, I've yet to trade in more than two copies of a game period, though I might have to make an exception with this much credit. Damn them and their random bannings. I don't want to get caught up in that.

Where did you see Dead to Rights 2 dropping to $10? I thought it was only going to drop to $20. Hopefully I am wrong and GR does not drop the price until after the 2 for 1 deal at TRU.

It was 19.99 MSRP at TRU, and the green tag sale is 50% off that since D2R2 is green tagged.

Well, you people better hurry....I think GameRush drops prices on Tuesday. D2R2 will probably drop. I traded in ONE copy, that's it. I try not to abuse the deals.
 
I just got back from my GR on 9 Mile and Middlebelt in MI, and traded in 2 copies of D2R2, preordered Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for Xbox, had $22.71 left over, combined that with my other credit, and picked up Far Cry: Instincts used for $35.76 after tax. I still have $8.16 left over in credit there. :D Whoever traded in FC is the MAN, because it is in PERFECT condition. I love you. :D It was still behing the counter in a rubber band, so it was most likely just traded in today. Whoever traded that in tell me, so I can hug you. :D
 
Anyone know if GameRush will have any T-shirts (or something) for the people that pre-ordered Fire Emblem (GC)? Just wondering, thanks. And when is the official release date of it? Oh, and will GameRush carry the Resident Evil action figures when they come out next month (or whenever?)? I want an Ada figurine. THEY'RE STATUES!! :) (dorky commercial reference)

Lot's of questions, no answers... Surely there must be some lurking GR employee who can fill us in on these things, anonymously of course, so as not to jeopardize their job.

I'm fairly certain of one thing though - we won't get anything with Fire Emblem. None of the other stores have promos for it as far as I know.

Anyway, on another topic, it is really starting to be preorder pickup time. Some of those preorders I've had for months are finally coming in. I think (if I have them all accounted for) that I have 3 games to pick up this week: Shadow of Colossus, Fire Emblem, and Jak X. Also, every week between now and early December I have something to pick up. The BIG week is mid-November (when I plan on being out of town - d'oh!) with B&W Creatures DS, Mario Kart DS, Sonic Rush DS, Viewtiful Joe DS, Shadow the Hedgehog, Chibi Robo, Super Mario Strikers, and possibly Kingdom of Paradise (PSP). Since I'll probably be playing Star Wars Battlefront II from Nov. 1st till the end of the year non-stop, I don't know when I'm going to get to these other games... :D

Yeah I will be right there with you, I have 8 preorders for now through Dec. and SW will be the only one I play for awhile. The first one sucked weeks of my life away. I am actually thinking of selling a few of the preorders sealed since I know I won't have the time...

My GR guy, said it doesn't exist, so I returned the LA Rush and preordered BattleField 2. I will pick up MAT 3 as a rental (and keep it) using my BB coupons.

Did anyone pick up Serious Sam II?
