Condition of games: "You can find more about the condition of an item by hovering your mouse pointer over the little gray circle with an "i" in it. It's a bit small, I agree, but basically, "Excellent" means the disc, case, and instructions appear almost new and "Good" means the disc may have light scratches from normal wear, but the case may be a little banged up or replaced and it may even be a formal rental. In all cases though, the game must play perfectly".

I picked up Castlevania: Curse of Darkness for Xbox @ $2.80 shipped after coupon. I'll let you all know how the transactions goes...

This is a pretty cool site, but is there anyway to search for games? Or do I just have to scroll through everything?

Hit "See all" in the bottom right corner, there will be search in the upper right.

I am taking a shot at metal gear solid the twin snakes for gamecube. $18 and change shipped with the coupon. put order in on 8/1. I will update if it arrives. Prices seem like they are randomized by an old school rpg stat roll generator.

Lol, thanks for letting me know.

Anyways, I am going to sell some stuff on here as well. Hopefully everything goes well. Anyone ever sell something on here? How do you get paid? Check?

Order #1385729889 by any chance?
It sure is, I'm guessing it will be coming from you?

Picked up Mario Kart DS for $13.30 and F-Zero GX for $7.39. Games are coming in about a week or so. Two great games for about $20. Nice. Great site. I'll come more often.

I didn't like, however, that I could only use one coupon total.

Just wanted to update: I order Castlevania: Curse of Darkness for Xbox ($2.80 shipped) and it arrived today in a Glyde bubble mailer - the game is brand new and still shrink-wrapped. Not bad for 2.80!
I was going to bite and then when checking out i found out you can't use paypal...
QFT I was going to buy something but don't want to give my CC to a new site for a $2 item.

EDIT: Wait Paypal has some kind of credit card generator, don't they?

I ordered an "excellent copy" of Madden 06 PSP that was (after the coupon) only 55 cents. It arrived promptly, the mailer was very slick, and the condition was in fact excellent. No complaints whatsoever.

To Glyde, I would suggest you add a genre category for your DVDs that only displays Blu-rays. It's a real pain scrolling through all of those pages just to spot the occassional Blu-ray.
I didn't like, however, that I could only use one coupon total.
As many things as I don't like about this site, I have to say . . . are you fucking serious? A small start-up site offers up coupons that almost certainly total up to initial losses for them on most orders as loss leaders in the hopes of drawing in repeat business, and you want them to compound their losses by stacking coupons? This isn't Wal-Mart/Best Buy/whatever that you're dealing with. Get a grip.

Well, I put in a order for a new copy of Motorstorm (1st one) for $6.47. Should be here in a week. I'll update when game is received.

I got the Godfather today. The game was complete and in very good condition, even though it was described as just "good."

Too bad I couldn't use the coupon :(, I forgot to use new customer one and the other one wasn't working :bomb:. Anyway I will definitely order again from them in the future.

my 'excellent' Gundam Crossfire arrived Friday - heavily used and stickered ex-rental. bah. looking at the site appears my only recourse is to send it back and eat the shipping... might as well lump it.

and after returning from the post office 20 mins ago I found the mailer to send out the Viva Pinata I sold had arrived finally, so we'll see how that goes...

Well I got Marvel Ultimate Alliance in "excellent" condition, but the disk is all scratched up and stuff. It still plays fine for now, so I didn't return it or anything, hopefully it doesn't start skipping and stuff.

I never ordered from Glyde before but I used their service to keep track of my collection and its been working great so far.
I placed an order over a week and a half ago. Still havnt received it.
Same here, but if you realize what's going on, of course it'll take awhile. It's not like the seller can ship it to you the same or next day after payment. He/She has to wait for Glyde to send them a mailer. Just sayin...

Yeah this isn't a bad deal. I may actually list a game or 2 on there. Also i have a bunch of DVD movies that i just upgraded to blu that i wouldn't mind moving either.

Ok, update here. I just received my order for Motorstorm sealed and for $6.47 (that was total after the Friends coupon). I came in about 7 days in a nice bubble mailer and item was brand new as describe. Here is a photo, sorry about quality.

There is a space in the link, so close it up to see photo.

I ordered ape escape:eek:n the loose from them over two weeks ago and still haven't received the game yet.So buyers beware.

Recieved my metal gear solid the twin snakes (good condition) 10 days after I ordered it. Arrived with case and instructions, and both discs were in great condition. Cost $18 shipped with $5 off code.
I placed an order over a week and a half ago. Still havnt received it.
Got my game today. Just took a bit longer than I expected.

Guess the game I sold finally arrived - got a payment notification just now:

Dear Rich,

Congratulations! Your sale of "Viva Piñata" has been finalized and the proceeds have been credited to your Glyde account. Here are the details of the transaction: etc

Ok, I thought this site seemed questionable. Now I'm sure of it.

They contacted me yesterday asking whether I'd received my game yet (I hadn't), because they had no record of it having been shipped. I responded that I had not received it. I thought at the time that it was pretty cool that they followed up like that. But then today I got the following message (bolding mine), which completely turned my opinion around:

Unfortunately, we have no record of the game "Lord of the Rings: The Third Age" (order #xxxxxxxxxx purchased on x/xx/xx) being delivered. We are very sorry you did not receive your game. Per our Transaction Policies you will be refunded the purchase price of the item.

Game Purchase Price Refund $2.50

Note that the 3.81 shipping fee is non-refundable as this cost has already been incurred.

The seller's actions have been noted and if a pattern of this behavior develops, their ability to buy and sell on Glyde will be impacted.

Almost all transactions on Glyde go smoothly and we apologize that you may have had a frustrating experience this time.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]

So... I don't get my game but I have to pay for the shipping? When they can't provide me with any proof that it ever even was shipped? It's my responsibility if their seller craps out? The refund hasn't shown up on my credit card yet, so I'm not clear on whether they took the "shipping" out of the coupon that I used, or out of the part that I paid (so, don't know whether I actually ended up paying anything or not in this case), but regardless... next time around, I won't necessarily have a coupon if this happens. So there won't be a next time.

fuck that noise, and fuck them. My business will be going elsewhere from now on. You all have been warned now too.

That is ridiculous

Same thing with me.I never received my game and it is pointless to try to contact them and get real help

I put a couple of games up for rather high prices and one sold a few days ago. I haven't received my mailer yet but it should be here in the next couple of days.

Overall has worked out okay getting cheap games from Glyde. Okay only in that I expected some of the problems encountered, not that it makes them acceptable, but factored in, if you will.

To date I have ordered six cheap 360 games. Of those six, one is still pending shipment, one was never sent and had to eat the shipping costs like an above poster, three were as described, and one was marked "excellent", but had a rental sticker on case / no manual / and was the wrong game inside the case.

I decided to keep because after glyde's policy has the buyer pay for half of the shipping back, I would only have gotten back 5 bucks or so. The wrong game was in the same series, and I didn't have it yet on 360, so not a horrible mistake.

I will continue to pickup some cheap games this way, but I probably won't use Glyde for more expensive games, and being a cheap ass, more expensive would be used games over $20 bucks.

To their credit, when I emailed them and complained about the shipping thing, they put a credit on my account for it. That being said, I take it that it was a one-time-only thing, and that if it were to happen again I'd be out the shipping that time, so I'm still not going to do any more business with them (beyond an order to use up that credit, we'll see how that goes). Maybe it "works out ok" for some people to get screwed some percentage of the time, but not for me. If I want to gamble I'll go to a casino.

I've really enjoyed Glyde since I found it, but primarily from the selling aspect. It's really convenient to just wait for an envelope to show up, put the game in the envelope, and put the envelope in the mail. I don't know how well they take it, but it might be worth sending suggestions you have to improve their system to the c.s. department. There's a _lot_ they could do to improve, but it'd be nice to have one more usable option out there.

I've only bought one thing which was in "Good" condition and the only problem with it was Gamestop used price stickers under the plastic (why do they do that??).

Yeah, the thing is that this right here is the problem. The fact that they're sending out pre-paid envelopes to the sellers is exactly why the shipping cost "has already been incurred" if/when there's a problem with the order. And by their policies, it's not Glyde or the seller that has to eat the cost when that happens, it's the buyer -- the one person who has no control over any part of that process. Making the customer in the equation the one that's liable when there's an issue is an extremely poor way of doing business (and a good way to lose customers). Telling me that you'll watch the seller for a "pattern of behavior" is little comfort to me when I'm the one who's out the cash. Not only that, but even when everything goes smoothly, it slows down the whole process when the seller has to wait for an envelope to arrive before shipping the item. It's a nice idea, but it simply doesn't work.

I've considered it, and I may still do so, but many of the problems that I have with their site are so fundamental to the very way that they do business that they'd essentially have to redesign a large portion of their business model and reprogram a significant portion of their site to fix them. I somehow doubt they'd be receptive to that.

I do notice that the Glyde representative who showed up early on in this thread has not come back since to address any of the concerns or issues that anyone has brought up. A shame, because it's a missed opportunity for an active dialogue. In theory, though, someone from the company is reading what's been said here?

Hi CAG’s. Thanks for the feedback. We understand your frustration with the ‘lost in mail’ policy and we certainly do hear you. Because of feedback like yours, we are changing that policy such that the buyer will get a full refund of the shipping costs when an item is lost in the mail.

This change will be implemented as soon as we update our system and emails and such. In the meantime, we will perform these refunds manually.

If you have had a purchase get lost in the mail and have not been refunded, we’re happy to refund your shipping cost retroactively as well. Just send your order number via email to service-at-glyde.com.

We do try our best to keep up with the boards and what you all are saying and we apologize for being slow to respond this time. We appreciate your effort to include us too.

Also, if you ever need to contact us directly or need an urgent response, we are always available at the email address mentioned above, service-at-glyde.com. One of us will respond to you within 24 hours.

Again, thanks for your comments and feedback. It never goes unaccounted, so please keep them coming. Email us anytime.

I made one purchase so far from Glyde (Disgaea: Hour of Darkness) and I was extremely happy with it. I received my game in less than a week and it was in excellent condition.

Now I realize that everyone is going to have different luck with the system but so far I'm rather inclined to purchase from Glyde again. It's very nice for picking up PS2 games at nice prices.

Looks like most of their prices are only OK, about what a used copy of a game should be. Could be a gem or two to be found sometimes though. I do wonder though, who sets their prices? Does Glyde or do they take suggestions from the sellers and average it out or something? I wonder because their prices are so inconsistant.

$61.xx for Fight Night Round 4/UFC 2009 Undisputed, but $8.xx for Burnout Paradise. And $14.xx for Resistance: FoM, a much older game then Burnout.

You set your own price within a predestined price range.

So if they don't support paypal and you sell a game through them, how do you get the funds? I was considering posting Killzone 2, but I'm not so sure if I can't transfer it to my paypal account.

You can either keep the money in your account to buy stuff off glyde with, or you can request a check to be mailed to you. But they have a $2 processing fee to do that.

You can also have it put directly in your bank account without the $2 fee. Or at least that's my understanding.

I see that but is this company trustworthy enough to give them bank account numbers? It is one thing to give them a CC number but a bank account number makes me nervous.
