Halo 4 out November 6th!!

Ok guys, will keep an eye out for you when I'm on. I'll try for Wednesday night at around 9 EST. I know holiday shit may have people off the map for a day or two so no big deal if it doesn't get done then.

Did someone from here send me a request? Got a request from a gamertag I didn't recognize.
Feel free to add "Saint Jude II" when you get to the last level (it's the only legendary one I need).
Just load the final checkpoint and finish it ;0
Can someone please give me a hand with legendary? I'm on Infinity. I'll help you with whatever you need.
Sure add me I need co op achievement
again even if I'm not on halo just invite me I haven't played much

If anyone happens to have an extra Specialization Code they'd be willing to part with, it'd be greatly appreciated. Never got mine regardless of meeting their criteria, or following their request guidelines. Heard they're releasing the Specializations in the future regardless, but I'm getting closer to 50, and what wasn't a big deal is slowly becoming one. Unfortunately I've got nothing to trade.

PM sent. Happy holidays.

Thanks again Ebb. Greatly appreciated. If you ever need someone for a Legendary run or Big Team Battle, feel free to add me. I'd play Sparton Ops too I guess. Once again, thank you.

Can someone explain getting the breach stance. I read that its getting the weapons maxed but does that mean getting 1k kills with every weapon online? I read it a few days ago and forgot all of the details

I think that's the one where you need a crap ton of kill with the Railgun, Sniper, Shotgun, Sticky Launcher(?), Rocket Launcher, and I think that's it. But yeah, it'll be a while to unlock that stance.

Will be on tonight for Bros to the Close achievement attempt. Probably aout 9pm EST. If I see the people on who I added I'll send invites, anyone else who wants in on it send me a FR. If we get more than 4 total I'm willing to do multiple runs, but only if we have at least 2 more.

It's very easy to get, just always stay in front and take out watchers and pulse cannons(?) as soon as you can. I did it with just one other person and it was pretty easy to get.

I'm very late, but I'm glad the code still worked.

If anyone is going for the Turret kills, and I'd assume the Mantis Stomps, for some reason it doesn't always unlock exactly at 20 kills. After the issues with the other Downloadable Content achievements, I guess this isn't too surprising. I needed to get close to 25 or 30 Turret kills before it unlocked. Some people on the Waypoint forum have needed much more. Just keep trying for them if you don't unlock them at the accurate number.

I keep seeing people asking if others play or if people want to be a team. Someone needs to start a CAG Clan for this game. Join-In Progress is broken, as people know how to avoid it, and many randoms (not all, and maybe even most...I hope) either are jerks or just not good at this game. I know I'm equally as bad for not actually starting a clan myself, but this game would probably be much more fun with a reliable team, especially in games of Dominion or other objective types.

Just finished Legendary-ing the few remaining Spartan Ops missions that I had done on normal and heroic.

Also, I really wish they'd fix the Legendary Spartan Ops on the "Find Game" menu. Too often, there's at least one guy doing basically nothing all match. I'm guessing they're still netting 5000-ish in xp which is lame.

7k ;)

And yes its annoying firefight at least had an autoboot system if the person did nothing spartan ops has one set up if the person keeps dying I think

Well right now you have the infinity challenge. For Spartan ops all you have to do is complete the game, unlike MP where it is based off of score. That might be the reason for the influx of idlers.

Yeah and pretty much every map is a lot larger, plus the enemies aren't coming in from every area like firefight. I've seen countless people finish games with 0-3 kills and 15+ deaths.

7k? Try 15k. Thanks DewXP! :)

I've only run into a couple idlers.

I'm more annoyed with dicks that fuck around instead of playing Spartan Ops as intended. i.e. driving a Warthog off a cliff with me on the gun. Standing next to an "activate" panel/object and wait for me to hop out of my vehicle to "activate" and proceed to steel my vehicle. Also love being in a vehicle and getting a plasma shot from my teammate leaving me a sitting duck. That never gets old.

Yesterday, I had one guy honk at me to hop on the Warthog gun (Vahalla) near the ocean end of the board (where the action was) and proceeded to drive me back to the mountain end of the map and just hop out of the hog and hoof it on foot leaving me in the gunner spot.

Also a fucker in MP the other day driving all the vehicles into the ocean (Vahalla) to destroy them.

I doubt the global 360 "rep" does anything anymore, but I report and avoid them all.

I didn't even know you could play Spartan Ops with strangers until I read the last several posts. :[

The saddest part being that the biggest booster, idler, loser, bitch, whatever, will get to be in the next Halo. Since they have to know it's being cheated, hopefully they scan the losers face and have them just being teabagged repeatedly by Spartans, or something else incredibly degrading. It's only fair.

Most of my friends had no idea either. I'd played through quite a few Legendary ones with two or three friends and the XP is I wanna say like 3k-ish a person (nowhere near the possible 9k+ for playing with strangers.)

Not sure if you can even take a party into the Find Game mode either which is sort of weak.

Oh, and then there's the awful server connections in Stranger Ops. I play the mode far less than War Games, but have had far more issues of lag with the game just running like stop motion for five minutes or more because some expeditioner in Antarctica is playing with his 1200 baud modem.

The most I get in War Games outside of the occassional score screen (and from that rarely being in a party and getting thrown into other games) is what I'm guessing is the modem delay asshats who disappear and reappear like five-ten feet in front of them the entire game.

Anyway, enough ranting from me. I do really enjoy the game. I've easily spent far more time in the multiplayer aspect of this Halo than any other so far, outside of LAN parties on the first.

You can. I've been in four player parties and we'd still go to "find game" for the sake of double xp.

While Frank’s words present the perfect note to end on, I’d like to share a little about the future he spoke of. One of the best parts about being blessed with the caretaker role of such an expansive universe is the opportunity for exploration, and books play an important role in that. Halo: Primordium came out in early 2012, and Halo: Silentium, the third novel in the Forerunner Saga written by Greg Bear, is slated to be released on March 19, 2013. Here is a little about it, for the fiction fans amongst you:

In Halo: Cryptum, Greg Bear began a three-book arc set in the era of the Forerunners, the ancient and enigmatic creators and builders of the Halos, which continued in Halo: Primordium. Now, in the last years of the Forerunner Empire, chaos rules. The Flood, a horrifying shape-changing parasite, has arrived in force, aided by unexpected allies. Internal strife within the ecumene has desperately weakened Forerunner defenses.

Only the Ur-Didact and the Librarian, a husband and wife pushed into desperate conflict, hold the keys to salvation. Facing the consequences of a profound tragedy, one of them must commit a great atrocity in order prevent an unmatched evil from dominating the entire universe.

As far as Halo 4 goes, we have some fun stuff planned for late January and beyond. After the Infinity Challenge concludes, regular Matchmaking updates will start up again (and that includes the return of the second half of Spartan Ops Season 1, which features brand new stories, missions and locations). It’s important to note the below scheduled is not finalized and could very well change, but as of right now, here is what we’re tentatively planning:

Week of 1/21
Spartan Ops Episode 6: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.
"Forge Test" playlist (name not final): A rotational hopper featuring small Forge maps such as Relay. Help us test these maps by providing feedback and reporting bugs that will assist us in getting them ready for Matchmaking!
Specializations: Pioneer and Pathfinder Specializations unlocked for all players.

Week of 1/28
Spartan Ops Episode 7: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.
Grifball playlist: A rotational hopper featuring everybody’s favorite virtual sport. Catch the disease!
Specializations: Engineer and Stalker Specializations unlocked for all players.

Week of 2/4
Spartan Ops Episode 8: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.
Team Doubles playlist: A rotational hopper for those of you that like action of the 2 vs 2 variety.
Specializations: Rogue and Tracker Specializations unlocked for all players.

Matchmaking updates go live every Monday, and potential playlists for the month of February include both FFA and a new and improved version of Team Snipers. Late February will also bring both a Title Update and the Majestic Map Pack (which includes two small maps and one medium-sized map) to Halo 4 as well. Expect more information on all of those things next month.

While we’re excited about our upcoming Matchmaking updates, I’m also excited about some of the things that may be low on your priority list but are high on mine. Take communication, for instance. I believe we need to work harder to get you information. We communicate through Bulletins, blog articles, social media channels and our forums. While that may sound like a lot, there are still numerous people asking questions about information that is already out there. That means we need to work harder to make sure the information is where you are. We’ve already started this effort on the forums (which is the first and most important place we look for feedback). We launched a “News” section, where we provide links to all headline articles, press releases, and blog articles we publish on a daily basis. There are also threads in that section where you can suggest a topic (Battle Rifle bulletology, anyone?) or ask a question for a future Bulletin.

Some good news for people that don't have the specializations unlocked.
Do you also get double xp with fast tracker? I get 9k exp without double xp
I've read they do not stack, if that's what you're asking. That's the next Specialization I'm going for so I can't check myself.

As I understand it they do not stack.... BUT you still do get xp from that mod so they don't cancel each other out either.

From eurogamer about halo 2 server closures on PC with some halo 4 talk:
Microsoft will switch off Halo 2 PC multiplayer next month.

15th February will mark the service end date for Halo 2 PC multiplayer. There are multiplayer Achievements for the game. After Halo 2 goes offline, they will be unobtainable.

"We've been monitoring the population for months, and it's been peaking consistently at approximately 20 players or less," explained Halo Waypoint's Jessica Shea.

"Those that own this game can continue to enjoy Multiplayer over LAN after that date; however our network services will be turned off at that time.

"We love you, Halo 2 PC, and you will live forever in our hearts.

"#singletear."

Halo 2 launched on PC in May 2007, two-and-a-half years after it released on Xbox.

Meanwhile, Microsoft revealed more information on new Spartan Ops episodes (the second half of Season One premieres next Monday), the Majestic Map Pack (due out late February) and new specialisations.

Next week two new Specialisations will be released for all Halo 4 players. Pioneer introduces a Fast Track armour mod that allows players to rank up more quickly, and Pathfinder includes the Gunner armour mod, which decreases the time of weapon overheat when occupying a vehicle weapon position, and increases player speed while carrying a detached turret.
Whoa! Ascension & Lockout? Are those custom maps? How do you get those?
Community made Forge maps. There's threads on like Gamefaqs dedicated to posting all the old maps. You can only play them in customs, but they're way better than Halo 4's maps. I think I have them in my file share too if you want to look there.
No text overlay with the words "YOLO" or "SWAG?" You give montages a bad name.
No dubstep or twerking, either. What a crock.

Ahhhhh, I'm shooting myself in the foot. I haven't played Halo 4 in a while, it just got to me after a while - always feeling stressed while in competitive play. Well I just looked myself up today and I qualified for Tier 2 and totally missed the finals! Oh It looks like I didn't have a shot anyways, high rank (#) and all.

The playlist (most) everyone has been waiting for is coming!

As we first told you in the 12.12.12 Halo Bulletin, ( http://blogs.halowaypoint.com/Headlines/post/2012/12/12/The-Halo-Bulletin-121212.aspx ) we have been hard at work on a competitive playlist featuring heavily modified versions of Slayer, CTF, Extraction and King of the Hill. This playlist will launch before CSR (mid-February) and we envision it as both the go-to place for competitive play and the premier playlist to get your 50 in. We’ve been paying close attention to the competitive community’s settings while building this playlist, and will continue to do so both pre- and post-playlist launch. We will share the first outline of the settings next week to collect community feedback and perfect the competitive playlist before going live. The name of this playlist is still TBD - please feel free to give us suggestions.

Some early details on this playlist:

4 vs 4
Pre-set game loadouts
Forced respawn timers
No instant respawn
Ordnance on re-supply timers
Join-in-progress off
No split-screen play
Friendly fire on
Max party size 4 with big party matching enforced
No guests allowed
Really liking Spartan Ops over the last two weeks. This game needed some freshening up pretty badly.
I completely agree.

When Halsey bitch slaps Laskey about not letting her know about Chief being alive made me all giddy that they might be reunited at the end of this season.
