Just got an e-mail saying that Hyperdimension Neptunia is available for pre-order from the NISA online store. It's $59.99 with free shipping (you have to choose USPS/other from the scroll down menu). You also get an artbook and a set of playing cards with the game. The artbook is included with all copies but the playing cards are exclusive to NISA.

EDIT:
Pre-order is out, but here's the new link to the game. Which does NOT include the cards.

Here is a trailer for the game:

I put an order in for now but I'll probably cancel once it's available on amazon. The playing cards alone don't seem worth it to me for the price difference it'd end up being (for me).

just so your aware only nisa is going to have the boxset from what im reading. could be wrong but shrugs. either way im in ny and i always have gotten my packages in 1-3 days.

There's a link provided in the forums somewhere (don't have it up at the moment) from a few days ago that says all initial copies will be the boxed set. The only additional bonus from the NISA store is the set of playing cards.

EDIT: NISA forums (not CAG afaik)

Would have been all over this game, but I hate the localization choices NISA made. (What would have been so wrong with RuWii?) and things like that will definitely affect my enjoyment of the game.

For people wondering, the game's strength is its characters and setting. The gameplay itself is kind of tedious after a while, but not as grinding as Trinity Universe.

I put in an order last night after receiving their preorder notification email.

Btw, it seems that Trinity Universe is getting hard to find. It's been OOS @ Amazon, GS, NISA, CD Universe, goHastings and GQD. Can't find a new copy anywhere!

I'm probably going to order this very soon, seeing game play of it and seemed interesting enough.

Anyone know if the box will be like the Rorona premium box or more like the AT2 premium box?
Do NISA games usually include the original japanese voices? Don't think i can play with english dubs :/
Hope so, or I'll have to keep it muted. Trinity Universe has both, so I hope they give us the same options.

I've been looking for the collection for a little while now. :(

Check Best Buy. When I stopped off at one in Vegas over the holidays they had two copies for $40 a piece. Kinda :bomb: since I had bought a copy earlier in the day at Fry's for $50.

I can confirm seeing it still in stock at two Best Buys this past weekend, so it's still pretty widely available there at least.
^ Did those come with the art book or game only?
Game only. IIRC there was no premium/boxed edition of it. That's why I didn't have the incentive to get it sooner, considering that Disgaea 3 and Cross Edge dropped a lot over time.

FYI, the only store that ever carried the art book for Trinity Universe was the NISA store, it was their exclusive. You won't find any normal store with it, so your best bet now is eBay if you want the artbook.

Also, LOL at the tags

The tags describe how I was feeling when I first saw this game... It seems to be a lot more tame than I originally thought though so hm...

Re: Deathsmiles.

Is this game actually going to be "good" or is more of a collective 50-60% rated game like Cross Edge and Trinity Universe?

NISA tends to cater to more niche crowds... so it'll probably be in the 50-60% and only appeal to its target audience.

Yes they usually do include the japanese track, it's atlus us (published the Persona series) that rarely if at all includes the japanese track.

Nail, meet head.

You can pretty much know from past titles 100% if you should buy this or not.

Actually, I was thinking more of Record of Agarest War than DeathSmiles, heh.

But then again too many ignorant people out there automatically think scantilly clad anime girls always = porn, and all fans of those types of games/anime are pedos so what do know.

I'm still excited.

It's not porn? How do I cancel?

"Neptunia’s Premium Edition will be shipping to Gamestop much like Rorona Atelier!

The first batch of Neptunia games going out through retailers (Gamestop, etc.) will be Premium Editions. Subsequent shipments will then just be the retail copies.

You should have a decent chance at getting a Premium Edition without preordering, but I would double check with your local game retailer just in case!"

All from Ryan of NIS on the US PS Blog

Ar Tonelico 3 should also be out within 2 months from now... with Totori most likely before the end of the year...

I had a $5.00 credit still so I went ahead and ordered. It wouldn't let me apply during checkout so I had customer service take care it, which was pretty quick(less than 24 hours).

How do you know the cards/artbook are limited? Don't all games boast about limited numbers and then when it comes out, they aren't limited at all. I'm a sucker so LEs so I'm going to get this and try it out. Haven't played a turn based RPG in a looong time.

Because there are 1000 packs of cards, and they won't be remade. The artbooks are limited to the first print, but we don't know the numbers. Could be 10k-30k+ of them, no idea. The niche titles like these are always more limited than, say, Fable 3 or BioShock 2.

There is more guarantee that these are limited than all the other "Limited" or "Collector" Editions of big titles. Namely because these are niche and will only grab a handful of audience. It does not work in their favor to keep printing more.

Heck, good luck finding a new standard edition of most of the NISA titles after a while.

Sorry, but NISA games haven't been rare for at least the last two years. For example, Rorona which just fell to $40 at Gamestop. If you enjoy their games like I do, more power to you. If you're buying this in the hopes of flipping it down the road, you are going to be very sorely disappointed.

I think the bigger concern is not buying it, then having to paying an arm and a leg to get the entire set down the road

Yet it sells for $70+ on ebay... I agree though, you probably won't be flipping it, but they do mostly maintain the value. However, Trinity Universe was an exception. Try finding the Rosenqueen version anywhere for less than $150. I know I'm not the only one who tried.

It's not a separate version though. People are paying a premium for the art book which is not packaged with the game. The game itself is still readily available at Best Buy.

Eh, I think that's a YMMV thing though, I haven't seen an NISA game at Best Buy since Disgaea 3.

Actually, I thought I was the only one. I never saw Trinity Universe at BBY either.

What are NIS's shipping packages like? Every damn thing I receive in a padded envelope is dented or creased. Want to make sure that won't happen if I order from them.

Thanks.

Has anyone noticed a 'point balance' in their account? I got some points probably transferred from RQ/old store but I am not sure how and what I can use them for.

As for the limitability of their premium/LE boxes. While NISA does reprint games but they are usually just barebone, game only version. This happened to Ar Tonelico and Mana Khemia that I know of. They did once reprint Sakura Wars PS2 Premium Box but that's because they underestimated demand at launch.

So if you want the premium box version, grab it as soon as you can. Any subsequent reprints will most likely be barebone version.

Btw, what comes with the Trinity Universe RQ exclusive set? Is it just an artbook?

Theres a pretty good Q&A about this game on Siliconera. I really like the answer to the fanservice question in the second part of the Q&A. It sounds like theres a good opportunity for some interesting characters and plot.

Part 1
Part 2

Is trinity universe worth picking up? And if so at what price?
Is trinity universe worth picking up? And if so at what price?
$15-20

Man, NISA PS3 products are such let down :( I have pre-ordered every single product they release on PS3, but all of them are beyond disappointment. No wonder their business isn't doing very well. I havent start Atlier Ronona yet but i heard that game is mediocre as well. Only anticipiated game for me this year is Disgaea 4, since the strategy games NISA release on PSP seems to be much better. How does company like Ideal Factory stay in business, while other western publishers are going bankrupt? Hyperdimension Netunia has Ideal Factory and Trinity Universe written all over it.

I am gonna wait for review, and probably buy a used copy of this for collection purposes :(.

these are low budget games and they are not going to wow you with graphics and hope they sale you on gameplay. lately though the gameplay has been lacking especially on idea factory games. NISA has said they were not going to pick up idea factory games anymore and i agree.

me being a CAG i would love to pick up the extras for collection as they do make nice centerpieces for display in my gameroom but i don't pay retail for games and end up missing out on the extras.

I also had points carried over from the old RQ store. I wound up using them on whatever the last thing I bought from them was (I forget). I was able to apply the points and turn them into a credit/discount. Again I forget exactly how I did this (sorry it's been awhile) but you can def use them for a discount on a purchase from the website.

I personally think it's one of the better current gen console JRPGs. That's not saying too much though. It has nice graphics if you don't mind visual novels, interesting combat system with chainable combos, some humor, and 3D dungeon exploration. If you are a JRPG fan, I'd say it's a buy at $30. If not, probably $15.
