Since the old thread was getting too large, I made this new thread to continue.

Apple iPhone & iPod Touch games in the App store are constantly going on sale. While I originally posted games and prices in this post, it's become almost impossible to keep up with it all. Feel free to post in this topic on good deals and games you enjoy. Developers are also encouraged to join in, especially if they are running promos or sales.

If you want to check out a particular game, try the following review sites, or ask in here so fellow CAG's can assist you.

Important Notes:

 1. Make sure to check for periodic updates either in iTunes or on your iPod\iPhone. For each release of new firmware, there's usually a bunch of games updated right afterward.
 2. Some applications also go on sale by their authors when they reach 1 million download and similar milestones.
 3. Apps often have specials the day before, during, and after holidays, regardless if said game/app is related to the holiday.
 4. Newly released apps will often have a % or dollar amount off for a limited period of time to gain a large following quicker. While browsing the app store you can go to a particular type or genre and order according to release date. This can make finding new app discounts faster.
 5. Make sure to backup your purchases in iTunes to CD/DVD for safe keeping. You can do this by clicking File-->Library-->Backup to Disc. Then choose all purchases, applications only, and full or incremental backup. How often is up to you, but I do this monthly, or more often if I buy a lot of apps.
 6. Apps can be redownloaded without incurring an extra charge if you previously purchased it. This is good if you have a crash and forget to backup your purchases. I don't know if this is a permanent feature so backing up regularly is still important.
 7. I strongly advise not to buy iTunes Gift Cards by 3rd parties unless you know they can be trusted. Retail stores, receiving cards as gifts, etc are the best ways. There are many credit card scams, stolen cards, hacked cards going around, especially on Ebay.
 8. If you are the victim of a iTunes Card scam or get your account locked due to one not all hope is lost. Apple has been fairly lenient on these issues. Call Apple directly at 1-800-MY-APPLE, or check the iTunes Store support site. Also going to your local Apple Store to discuss it can help. The account locking is an automated process and can be reversed. This can take time so be cautious if you use gift cards from 3rd party sources.
 9. If you somehow break your iPhone or iPod Touch, you have some options. If you bought the Applecare warranty it should be covered for most items. If your Applecare ran out or you don't have one, try these sites for do it yourself replacement parts & fixes.
Dark Harvest is pretty fun. I got it one of the two times it was free: http://www.appshopper.com/games/dark-harvest
It's like Puzzle Bobble but instead of being fixed, the pieces you're shooting at are often floating around. Then when you hit it with a piece that affects the momentum and shifts it around.
I picked it up when it was free as well. But could never get it to load. It kept crashing, Not one time did it load. So I deleted it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and never did it load. I may try it again when I get a new phone. (new iphone coming out next month.)

I've deleted it as well. It's pretty much a 3GS game only. Gets too laggy when there are a lot of marbles on the screen at once.

City of Ash, a MMORPG, has dropped to FREE (http://appshopper.com/games/city-of-ash).

"The first online massively multi-player post-apocalyptic survival game for the iPhone and iPod Touch! And the first deeply immersive script that puts you in the center of a globetrotting quest to find out how things went so horribly wrong and what you can do to set things right.

Buy a vast array of weapons and defenses against roving clans and disease, shelter those weaker than you by scooping up properties, and earn cash to make the most of what’s left of the world you once knew.

But remember, it’s about more than just survival… you’re out to save the planet."
Is there a way to expand the memory capacity on the iphone/ipod touch without buying a new one ??
Nope ... at least not one that would be cost effective to my knowledge. It's probably your best bet to live with what you have now and grab the 4th gen Iphone when it's announced in June.

some decent freebies:

Seeing as Monster Mayhem was pretty popular on this board, I wanted to let everyone know that an update was released last night and I would advise against installing it. It really jacked up the knife in the game and made it so the knife is only recognized vertically not horizontally, plus it does not register all the time. Just an FYI. I also play it on the ipad, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Gameloft's game of the day is up:

Bridge Odyssey is #FREE for 2 hours http://j.mp/c99rwK
Follow @Gameloft to know when next free game is #iPhone #HappyHour

File size: 9.7 MB
App Store Rating: 3.5 stars/5

Description:
Join 9 wild characters on a journey so big, they’re going to need all your support! Help the Dodo, Bison, Giraffe and others on their trek to the Lost World by building bridges over ruined passes, bottomless pits and molten volcanoes. Grab vines or bamboo to support your bridges and keep them from breaking under the pressure. You’ll have to use your wits and the environment to make the bridges strong enough to carry them across 48 levels in 6 different environments.

Info on Gameloft's website about the game:
http://www.gameloft.com/iphone/bridge-odyssey/?adid=101966

It should be there until about 12:15 PM EST or so based on when they posted the info.

Solomon's Keep is a game that I originally had disparaging words for, but it's reversed and has grown on me quite a bit. It's a pretty solid combination of a dual-stick shooter and a, I guess, Diablo-ish game. You move kind of slow, the rooms all look too much the same, and the chests mostly just have gold in them (rarely containing items), but it still ends up being more interesting and fun then your typical dual-stick shooter. You can buy items and when you level up you get to choose what you'd like to improve and such. I'd call it worth the asking price.

My post must've beaten yours by just a few seconds (it's the last one on the previous page). ;)

Haven't played the game yet. Looks like the PSN title Elefunk from the gameplay video I saw.

The music is annoying but seems to be pretty polished game (too short?). One of the few that I might actually play in this giveaway.

Hope they are saving their best for last.

I actually paid .99 for Bridge Odyssey a while back when it was on sale. Pretty fun bridge building game. Definitely worth a FREE download.

Silly Corvin. Everyone knows it's completely impossible to access pornography on an Apple product.

They changed the mechanics of the knife from stabbing(touching) to slicing(swiping) from what I've read so maybe that's throwing you off.

Because you just can't have too many puzzle options, Spooky Spirits: Puzzle Drop! is on sale for .99 (http://www.appshopper.com/games/spooky-spirits-puzzle-drop). There's also a free, lite version if you want to test the waters (http://www.appshopper.com/games/spooky-spirits-puzzle-drop-lite).

*** New Style of Drop-Based Puzzle Game!! ***

*** 70+ Levels!! ***

*** Great Story!! ***

*** Automatic save game function: ***
*** No progress lost during incoming calls! ***

Spooky Spirits: Puzzle Drop!! is the new improved version of our popular falling block puzzle game!

The game introduces a new twist on the falling block and match-2 formula and comes with three different game modes — including a clever and relaxed puzzle mode and a panic mode (for those of you who enjoy more fast-paced action).

Two wacky spirit wardens, Becky & Tim, fell asleep on their watch allowing all the Spookies to escape! Spookies is really only a different word for naughty ghosts. You must help Becky & Tim to stop the Spookies from haunting innocent humans or else they will lose their jobs!

That Rebirth of Fortune looks like FF tactics, or Jeanne D'Arc

Is it good? How would you compare it to the two previously mentioned titles? How about compared to Disgaea?

Basically, once you solve 1 door, you will find an answer/clue or riddle to open another door. Doors do not open in a "sequential" order. You may sometimes go back and forth to open doors. However, once they are open, they stay open indefinitely. This really is a good game. Some of the questions/ riddles can be solved with a little patience. Reading and comprehension is the key to a few of them. Some of the riddles were easy because I had heard them before. The games difficulty is definitely what it would be like if you stumbled into a similar situation in real life.
