Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

Our CAG Japanese Niche Games Thread also has a community on PS4, where you can interact and game with other members of the thread.

Our moderators are: Draekon, Las_Hole, and Waffleswanton

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

You can also leave your PSN ID in the thread, saying you want to join, and we can invite you directly as well.

I bought a pack of grip its (the ones with the frog hands on them) when mine tore , and they do the job just fine. $5 for a pack of 4 on Amazon.

Get the GelTabz from gamestop, They're like $5 and they're very good.

I love it! I have slightly big hands (I like Trump often get complemented about the size of my hands lel) and it feels great, I never get that cramped feeling you get when using the VITA naked due to lack of grip.

I usually try not to add fuel to the flames, but there was something about taking out a butt pose in Overwatch recently. Also, going on what you said, I wonder how many people actually bought SFV, due to Capcom removing the buttslap and stuff. I mean the game has poor sales regardless going by it's bad launch, but did the removal of the stuff appease anyone to buy the game?

Yep, there was 1 person who wrote something about being offended at the pose because it had "nothing to do with the characters background story it only sexualizes her" so OFCOURSE the proper reaction is to remove it, to not get any bad PR... Really bold move by Blizzard to set that precedence of 1 complain = removal of content.

You're definitely right. i guess it's akin to Michael Bay and Transformer movies. But I'm wondering if it would have sold just as well if they hadn't censored it? And the reverse could go for something like DoA X3, I remembered Supplice posting an article saying it was sold out of a bunch of places in Japan. Would it have sold less if it had been censored?

Maybe convex slightly? They feel just about the same as the normal rubber grips but more tactile & grippy.

They simply slide on top, no need to remove the other ones.

Yeah, that's what happens unfortunately. One game decides to censor a little bit and sells successfully, suddenly others are following the trend.

Things will just get worse and worse if there isn't a counter-voice and they continue to sell well.

I from now on I'll refer to it as the "Thread that must not be named."

On a better note, I also got the Nights of Azure: LE in perfect condition yesterday. Went to fire it up, and then was called into work. I really enjoyed Ar Nosurge, and look forward to playing this. I started Omega Quintet and it's not going to be something I will play much for long periods of time.
