The following thread are for niche-based Japanese video games by smaller companies such as Atlus, NIS America, AKSYS, XSEED, D3 Publisher, KOEI/TECMO, SNK Playmore, Ignition, Natsume or any sweet deals for those who are passionate and hardcore about Japanese video games even from the bigger companies like SquareEnix, Sega, Bandai Namco, etc.

But to avoid any messiness of links everywhere, we'll focus on games within the last 2-3 years as opposed to the last five-ten. [although, if you do see older titles on sale, please post them regardless].

The theme of these deals are Japanese video games distributed in the US by the smaller niche companies. The thread is literally for those who love Japanese games.
There will be a few Korean games that you may see on this list, such as the "DJ Max" games.

If you see a deal, please post!

NOTE: Please check the most recent page for the latest deals.

And I want to thank many of you in advance who submit their deals and their support!!!

Hyperdimension Neptunia MK 2 Vita Remake Sister's Generation is being released on January 27th.

By the wording in the article it seems that the CE still isn't available for preorder yet, I am guessing maybe around early next year it will be.
HN:MK2 was the first of the series I ever played and really enjoyed it. It was also the first PS3 game I ever platinumed. I'm excited to see what changes they have made to the storyline and gameplay. ReBirth1 was great, so I have high hopes this one will be as well. Just hope they somehow have NISA as a DLC character even though NISA didn't help with this release.

Idea Factory just sent out their monthly e-mail newsletter and apparently it will be available to preorder in early January 2015 and they will be opening their own webstore in the US. I suppose that's better than Amazon given the problems with their first LE release.

Nin-Nin-Game, and this is the only pic I've taken so far: https://twitter.com/chaosyoshimage/status/544582076272750593 Almost home so I'll be attempting to set it up soon.

That looks really awesome. I like it better than the anniversary edition, too bad it costs an extra $150, though I probably would have bought one if I didn't own a PS4 already. Does it come with Dragon Quest Heroes?

It comes with a digital code for DQ Heroes when it comes out (I think the code actually gives you the game a bit earlier than that). I'd prefer physical, but it's a game I'd import anyway and makes the high price for this bundle easier to swallow. I posted a few more pictures on my Twitter.

I saw the first episode of the anime and it was okay. I didn't bother watching any more though. I do like visual novels though so I am interested. How is it compared to the anime?
SG is one of the best anime, especially when it comes to involving concepts of time with the plot. 999/VLR is the only other series that accomplishes this. It may start slow, but near the middle it picks up.

Steins gate was a decent anime. It got super boring thou in the middle. I thought nothing was going to happen, like it tuned into a slice of life genre. But I chugged threw and it picked up quick and glad I stuck with it.

Also isn't the girl from steins gate in a fighting game & 2d brawler from something recent?

STEINS;GATE COMING TO VITA AND PS3 IN EUROPE AND NA IN 2015. It actually is coming! :whee:
i liked the anime, if a reputable retailer like bestbuy, or amazon, or gs carries it. i will buy it day one to support it.

anime is a bit slow, but it gets better later on

I have heard nothing but praise for SG but I remember literally falling asleep during a few episodes of the anime. It crawled so that I didn't keep watching it , I got maybe eight episodes in IIRC and at the time I didn't know it was actually a visual novel, so I think I'd be into the VN more.

Unironic praise for DmC? What kind of backward ass world are we living in? If there's a DMC5, I hope it starts with Dante pissing on Donte's grave.

I checked out the site, man I wish I knew Japanese. So many great games at good prices.
You and me both. I so want to immerse myself within that culture badly. The gaming side tho. I'm more into that story drive / weird / quirky games that gets released over there

I wish I knew Japanese..

*sighs*

Anyone else bothered by the fact that they're driving a sports car through the fields and whatnot? You'd think they'd have an SUV.

Either way, I know it's way too early but so far, I'm not really liking anything about the game. I wanna get hyped up for it but it looks like it'll be another superficial, edge action sequences filled entry in the series. I hope I'm wrong.

I see, it's just that their Vita prices are too good
Also ordered my Framemeister from there specifically because they had a better price than anywhere else and was happy with my purchase. I'd risk it. Worst case scenario, your credit card company can back you up.
