Best Buy has PMed TRU's offer of a $15 gift card with purchase of L.A. Noire

Edit: You also get 500 RZ Points if you pre-order which amounts to another $10 certificate. Thanks Defendthestar31 for the reminder!

Edit 2:
The BB Gaming App for the iPhone shows the game on sale for $48.99. Once you click to purchase, it takes you to the site where it shows $59.99. I know this may not help but it does at least reference their $48.99 price.
You can try to use this to get a PM in store.

Just wanted to let any San Diego area CAG's know, I have a few midnight DLCs left over from our midnight release and am giving them away. Check my thread in the regional "west" forum.

San Diego area CAGs only please. Thanks!
So i called best buy about the gc only being 10 when I was told by the rep when i ordered in store that i would get 15 and the fact that they didn't have any dlc. I was yelled at and treated very rudely. Called back today and spoke with someone who gave me a 25 dollar gc for my trouble and they are going to look into getting me the dlc.

I will say that for the most part, best buy's customer service is pretty damn good.
The Best Buy customer support (on the phone and on Twitter) is actually pretty awesome. It's unfortunate that the people that work at the store are total dildos who never know the policites, deals, BASIC LOGIC, BASIC BUSINESS, or anything else pertinent to performing their jobs in even an ADEQUATE manner.

If anyone got any extra ps3 codes from best buy last night I'm taking donations lol. The store I went to last night never received the codes and basically put me on a waiting list

Well, went back to the Cambridge, MA store again this morning. After talking with several employees including the manager, they claimed they were open for about 5 minutes last night for the 3 people that showed up, but they couldn't find the codes and only one person bought the game. Best I could do was add my name onto a list with the other 3 folks...not holding my breath. Manager told me they were "scouring the warehouse" for the codes amongst other things.

Pretty frustrating that they put something in a Sunday print ad and then something like 25-50% (judging from this thread) of the stores that supposed to get codes do not. This is why I pretty much never bother with B&M preorders
You got the naked city dlc?? I got the consul's car too.

Oh, nvm, it's a ps3 thing. Damn, I really wanted the naked city, and I just ruined the possibility that I could do a gamestop swap by opening the wrapper...doh! Ah, it's for the best...
You wouldn't be able to do it anyways since GS and BB copies of LA Noire have different UPCs.
So awesome story about BB that actually has a happy ending (I hope):

So waited outside my local BB for the midnight opening. Only 4 other people showed up, and they were all getting the 360 version so I was the only one picking up the ps3 version. They open the doors, and the first guy in line already asks about the midnight dlc. Turns out that since my local store wasn't listed on the main website they did not have any midnight release codes. We were all bummed, but what can you do?

So I'm the only one who did product pick up, so the manager had to take me over to the customer service section. So we started talking, nice guy actually. Says he tried to request the midnight dlc codes from corporate but they were shot down due to already being allocated in the region. I asked him nicely if he would try calling one of the stores that did have the codes, and just see if they had any extras. He said he tried for one of the other customers already, but would try one more time. Takes out his cell phone and calls, and this time the other store picks up. Turns out they were given 'over 20' of the cards, and had plenty left over (apparently at 12.05a I'm guessing they had as many people as my store had, haha). So the manager asked them to hold one of the ps3 cards for him. Got off the phone, took my name and number down, and said he would drive down to the other store, pick it up, and give me a call on Wednesday when he was back at this store. That other store is a good 30 minutes away each way, so that well above and beyond my expectations.

Now true this may all fall apart and until I stop by on Wednesday I may not actually get it, but at least he seemed genuine, and understood the situation.

So yeah, I'm happy right now.
Should've came to Mission Valley, not only did we get DLC, cokes, and GAMER mags, I was able to get the whole store the $48.99 price!

I'm gonna mad that I didn't know about this. But cool that MV went all out in the fun department.
Is it possible to PM for the $15 gift card and the $48.99 price from the app? Anyone have any success?
Probably not. Here's my (admittedly foolish) experience. I preordered yesterday morning and got the 15 gift card at checkout. Then I received a confirmation that I could pick up the game in the store and that the gift card would be mailed separately. Midnight launch - I go to the store and show them the iPhone app's $48.99 pricing. They were intrigued and supportive. Hoping to give me the best deal, they said to cancel the pre-order and just buy the game in the store right then. They then sold me the game at $48.99 along with the free $10 gift card from their in-store ads. (So, roughly $20 saved so far.) This morning I call to cancel the pre-order right as I get an email telling me the $15 gift card was shipped (jackpot?). But the woman on the phone is sharp enough to say, oh, well if you cancel the pre-order, we'll just have to charge you as if you bought this $15 gift card. She also noted that the Rewards Zone points from the pre-order (which have yet to appear) would be cancelled in favor of those accrued with my purchase last night.

In hindsight, I probably should have just stuck with the pre-order and gotten the $25 discount as opposed to the $20 I got from my price match shenanigans. And if I were really crafty, I could have kept the pre-order, received the gift card, and then just returned the more expensive copy at a later date (after those RZ points definitely show up) for a refund. But hey, it was a nice try all around. Kind of a fun exercise in figuring out which rules would bend and which wouldn't.

P.S. My store in West Hollywood did not have DLC cards (or Coke / Gamer magazine, but I would have turned down both anyway), but instead they offered to just call each of us once they got them later.

Just walked out with my 3 in-store pre-order copies for PM'd to $48.99/ea, with $10 GC/ea, and another $10/ea in a month or so once the pre-order bonus posts. I have the feeling my BB just gives me the outrageous deals I ask for just to get me out of their hair!

Didn't bother trying to PM my other 2 online pre-orders; already getting the $15 + $10 bonus on those, so I didn't want to push it with them, or jeopardize the bonuses I got online.

Heads up for anyone living in Santa Rosa, CA area, Best Buy store has butt loads of the free DLC for both systems.

It kinda helped too that there was only like 6 of us there total

That one person was me last night and I got the same story. The guy told me to come back this afternoon but from what it sounds like, they still can't find the codes??

Well everything worked out well for me.

Picked up the PS3 version of L.A. Noire which I pre-ordered on Thursday. Once the notice came on here that the price was listed as $48.99 I called online customer service and requested a price match. They notated it on my order number and said if it didn't auto correct when I picked up at (I did ship to store) on Tuesday then give them a call.

Of course, it didn't do it automatically so I had to call, but they quickly found the notes that I had requested the price match and they pressed a couple of buttons. I immediately got an email stating they credited the amount plus tax of the price match.

While I was there to pick up I noticed they had some download cards from the midnight launch sitting out. I just asked if I could have one for the PS3 and she grabbed one and threw it in the bag!

$48.99 per-order
$15 gift card
$10 RZ bonus
Sharpshooter DLC
Midnight Launch DLC

Thanks OP!!
It kinda helped too that there was only like 6 of us there total
True. Do you know at that store if they actually gave you a giftcard there? I know the deal is online, but I rather not buy it online. I rather pick it up in stores.

RiCeBo1:

Yeah probably should have, but too far of a drive. If I didn't have work the next day I totally would have. I might still give a call to customer service to see if they will PM, but I still got the $15GC plus $10 gamer credit, so I'm happy. This is the only midnight opening I've ever done for a game. Usually only show up at midnight for system launches, but wanted to get the midnight DLc for this.

Indeed they did. From what I saw, they have to manually discount everything that was rung out (LA Noire, coke, magazine) but when the gift card was scanned through, it automatically informed the cashier that there was a $10 gift card promo for purchasing the game even though they PM'd the $48.99 price. Win-win for everyone.

Priced matched BB.com preorder to 48.99 last night with no problems

Only 3 people there so I got my free DLC case.....

I don't understand. So how is it so many people were able to change the price of an online pre-order in the store? I mean, I wasn't able to do so, and I assumed it was because I placed the order online and used my credit card online. The best I could do was make a new purchase.
Yeah all DLC is in the game case.

What's more, the barcodes are different.
Gamestop: 7 10425 47025 7

Think we can update the OP to include these skus? I ordered mine from GS to get their bonuses but if a place sells the same sku for cheaper, I'd like to go get it there and return it to GS.

Jeez, guess they have a different version at every retailer? Kmart UPC is:
7 10425 39803 2

I'd guess WalMart is different as well since they have a different DLC pack included.

If my Best Buy did not participate in the midnight launch does this mean they did not receive any midnight launch DLC to give out?

Ugh, fucking terrible day today. My original order got adjusted to $48.99 when this deal was posted. I went to go pick up the game today and they apparently put me down for the 360 version instead of the PS3 version which I wanted.

So I had to go home and call up customer service to explain my situation. My first order was supposed to be canceled and wait an hour to get my $30.00 gift card amount refunded back because I used it toward the game to knock it down to $18.99.

Then I find out it wasn't canceled after I called back to place my new order for the PS3 version, so I had to explain that shit and then they canceled the 360 version. Now, they charged my Gift Card for the free $15.00 one I was supposed to get. So I had to re call a fucking 3rd time and get that shit straightened out, now on the 3rd call I got my PS3 order placed but they couldn't refund the full $30.00 until I placed that order.

So now I'm waiting another hour for a fourth call to get my original $30.00 gift card put toward my PS3 order. It's been one fustrating day.

Damn. By the time I got home after picking up my in-store pickup to call BBY the gaming app price had been changed back to $59.99. I knew I should have called last night and had them note it in a case number that I should get the reduced price but wouldn't be able to until after it was picked up in store. Now I don't think they would do anything because the gaming app doesn't reflect that price.

tl;dr: The gaming app price of $48 is no longer available.

phew, good thing I called a few hours ago to lock in that price. what sucks for me is that my order is still stuck on 'confirming store inventory.' I did put in the order like 20 minutes before midnight so that may be the cause but I might call BB just to be sure.

Wasn't able to price match, but did get the Midnight launch dlc when i pick up my copy this afternoon.
So is this "Consul's Car" dlc in every PS3 copy or is that a Best Buy exclusive?
Every PS3 Copy gets it.

Thanks. I guess that doesn't make for very good trade bait, huh? :)

Don't think so haha. The case is actually the ps3 exclusive bonus.

Here's a screenshot of the gaming app with the lower price for the 360.

I called on Sunday when the price was $48.99 and got the adjustment. Well, I just received a phone call from Best Buy confirming that $11 is being charged back to my card. Definitely didn't expect a phone call.

Total for my most anticipated game of the year:

$64 - $15 (gift card I already had) - $11 (price match) = $38 + $35 BB credit (extra $10 for putting me over the $150 Gamers Rewards)

I'm not going to bother PM'ing to $49 but my BB did price match the free $20 game (I got the second Professor Layton) from Kmart and gave me a leftover code from last night's midnight launch...
They technically should not match a bundle deal but I told them that I will forsake Amazon and preorder stuff from them ALL the time :D

Also telling them you will do the receipt survey works very well...
I didnt mean the K-Mart thing, theres no way in hell my store would PM that. But they kept saying the 48.99 price was bundling for some reason, since it already came with a Gift Card
So how does the "Sharpshooter Detective suit" come? Is it a card in the box or like in the game book?
A card inside the case along with the instruction booklet.

Hopefully the $10 RZ cert shows up in my account soon.

The 500pts from noire? Don't hold your breath if you're waiting to use it. 35 days before it clears and is available.

I'm in no rush. I just never know if I should use the report a missing purchase option on the myrz site. I don't even see my Noir purchase in my history yet.

Was able to PM via customer care. So I got 500 Reward Zone points, $15 credit, the Midnight DLC (went in today and they had all left) for $48.99.....fuck yes

I'm going by after work to pick up my copy that I pre-ordered online. Further, I have my iphone with the BB Gaming app page still loaded (never moved off it so it still shows the 48.99). I'm tempted to try the PM.

Wait, you already have the 500 RZ points ready to spend? I wanted to use them for Hunted: The Demon's Forge...
