LEGO Deals 3

Cool Star Destroyer … And is that the cancelled Overwatch 2 set? Pretty cool … still a shame that the lines failure basically guaranteed we’ll never get Warcraft or StarCraft LEGO sets.

Some news...
My two Walgreens sets came in, the best shipping ever for LEGO and it was done by Fedex. Picture perfect boxes.
  • The Endurance Ship [Like a Pirate ship] $260 Black Friday release.
  • ZELDA Tree 2500 pieces can be changed to look like Ocarina of Time or BotW. Classic Link, Young Link, BotW Link and BotW Zelda. New Shield mold and $300
  • LotR Fellbeast is a GWP with the Barad-Dur, pics soon as it releases June 1st.
  • 8 in 1 Bat Brickhead comes in July can only build one Batman at a time and only 325 pieces.
  • Space Diner GWP next week when you spend $100 on anything. Also get the two $5 polybags of City Space and Technic when you spend $50 on select themes.

I don't understand why LEGO doesn't just make a LotR theme again. We all know Castle is in demand. Make 2-3-4 sets a year that don't cost $550.

We get $20 Simba and $120-$150 Simba on the same day. Okay LEGO....

Also the Series 25 minifigures are on sale for $4 the price they should be anyways at LEGO.com. Pretty sure that price is new.

Space week has started at LEGO. If you spend $100 on anything you get Space dinner and if you spend $50 on Technic, City, Friends, Dreamzzz you get two polybags.

Lego.com out of 2 polybags but still have GWP. I get that the threshold was only $50 but crazy they'd run out of polybags so fast.

Yeah there is no excuse for running out of polybags. Like make more. My favorite is next week they will magically get more polybags but be out of the dinner.

This is from LEGO's Wicked Part 1 press release. Four minidoll sets in the fall.

Something Wicked Is Coming…

The ‘popular’ musical phenomenon, Wicked, becomes a two-part gravity-defying cinematic event with the first film arriving in theatres on November 27th and the second coming in Fall 2025. LEGO Group will introduce four sets inspired by the first film that will allow fans to delve deeper into some of the most iconic scenes straight out of Oz and explore core themes, characters, and songs from the upcoming film.

Why is 'popular' in quotes?

One of the newest Ideas was a minifigure dispensing machine, aka gumball machine. LEGO is holding a vote for what color classic Space figure to include and what Castle fraction.

No Forestmen?!?

$300!?! When I saw the twitter post, I thought $200 tops

It looks like it can be combined with other sets (like the modulars). Have any others been announced?

Zelda is probably my favorite video game franchise, there’s no way in hell I’m spending $300 on that. That’s a $200 set at the max, they’ve lost their damn minds even more than usual.

Edit-that’s odd, I’m catching now that you can instead build Link’s house from Ocarina as an optional build without the extra stuff at the base of the tree. That clearly feels like the better build but they’re leading with the other? Might also account for those modular-like extensions on the base.

I like the lead build more but don't have $300 laying around for it. Prayers for other cheaper Zelda sets so I can get minifig Link!
It’ll happen, the Nintendo partnership really feels like the early days of Disney and even Star Wars partnership. Seems to be a bit slower to get going but I don’t doubt this will be the only time we’re ever gonna get a Link and Zelda minifig.

This set is a step in the right direction, we are getting closer to some Nintendo sets I might want. The Mario stuff is weird, although my youngest liked it so we own a few of the Mario sets. The animal crossing stuff I was hopeful for, but it turned out a little to weird looking for my taste too. I am really hoping we get a Hyrule Castle or something a little better in the future.

I'm trying to figure out where 2500 pieces go and how quickly it drops to 40% off.

Sesame Street also had connections and that meant nothing.

I like it but I don't $300 like it
another one of those where I will wait to see if there's every any kind of sale, discounts, clearance, etc. and if I miss out. no biggie
though with it being Zelda/Nintendo this could be one to put away and hold onto for a long time.

I like Zelda … but wake me up when it’s a castle set. Leaning way harder towards the rumored $200 Nightmare Before Christmas set that comes out the same day as the deku tree.

Exactly, had they released a $300 Hyrule Castle it would have flown off the shelves. But if the dangle the thread of this being the “only Zelda set ever ZOMG!!!!” They know they’ll get people on the fence to buy it. Had it released after other sets, it would have been ignored. It’s basically a first of its kind/subline tax, see also X-men Jet, the re-trickling of Lord of the Rings, etc.

Lego is very shrewd and calculating in its marketing, they know exactly how to get people into buying sets.

PXL_20240530_172350067.jpgI don't know if any of you are looking for something like this, but katana collectibles sells plastic boxes for toys that fit like a glove if you measure correctly. Says UV protection but I'm not displaying this in direct sunlight regardless. These aren't acrylic so they aren't crush proof, but I feel better handling the set now.

Good thinking. Now when your son murders you there won't be blood on the set.

I had no idea but just saw a clip of one of the employees at the Lego store demonstrating that the retro radio opens up in the back and you can put your phone in it. there is no "speaker" but it works just the same as when you put your phone in or up against something and the audio is "amplified". Someone mentioned that they would put a little bluetooth speaker in it and thats a great idea that I am going to have to steal. No rush though, I imagine this one will see some kind of sale or discount in the future sometime.

Double points June 12-16th.

Mona Lisa has been 'delayed'. LEGO can't keep the quality for the gold pieces in the frame so don't be shocked if this never comes out. Delayed to after October at the earliest.

LEGO Jurassic World Brachiosaurus Discovery 76960 is $64.71 with $12 Walmart Cash.

Now I'm pretty sure that's the best price for it so far. haha

surprised no one mentioned the Lego Ideas Maleficent Dragon got turned into a Friends minidolls set with miniature castle - ugh. $69.99 for 583 pcs. Dragon looks decent still but otherwise what another fumble.

We just got a new LEGO store in our city on Friday. It's been a lot of fun, I brought my kids to it on opening day and we each got a free tile. Then on Saturday I went back by myself and bought the City Airplane for one of my kids for his birthday. I was able to get one of the GWP water slides and they were doing the GWP of the small yellow delivery truck that I guess you can only get at store openings, so I got one of those as well. My wife went back on Sunday and bought the Prison Island and Gru's House and was able to get the small LEGO store GWP that I guess is also an exclusive thing for store openings. They forgot to give her the Water Slide with her purchase so I called customer service and they offered to send me 3 of them, one for each of my kids just as a thank you for spending so much money at LEGO (they can see my purchase history). My wife and kids went back again to the new store yesterday and my oldest son bought the Space Base with Rocket Launchpad and they still had some of the GWP Mini legostore, so they gave him one of those and they got 3 of these LEGO tote bags they are giving out this week. It's a lot of fun having a store close to our house now. We have gone 4 days in a row since its opened and yesterday they were wiped out of sets. We are not planning to go for a while now, let them restock. It was insane watching the line on Saturday for everyone wanting to get Barad-Dur with the Fell Beast.

While I have a LEGO Store in town, it takes about 40 minutes to get to so we rarely go. :( They don't like me as much as your store obviously likes you. No free GWP for us!
