I just had to bump this topic as I can't believe its buried under the Mighty Muggs one.
I just played the LEGO Indy demo. Not as good as LEGO Star Wars game, but I might get it if its on sale.
It will be $20-$30 within 4-6 months.
Let's go to Utah, I want her as my wife too. :)
Sounds great! You mow the lawn and clean the dishes, I'll take the birthday presents and the sex.
Tybee as in Tybee Island, GA? I just came back from vacationing there.
Yup! Was our first trip together, and also subsequently the name of our dog. We were down there last fall. Love it down there.

They are up, you're fine. He/she was adding more catalog pages and every time you do the folder goes private until Brickshelf can check you uploaded a LEGO picture and not porn.

EDIT: Now the pictures are down for good, but you can find them if you look.
Sweet, they are releasing Darth Vader's Tie Fighter...that is going to look nice with my new X-wing.
Of all the things to be excited about you mention a rerererelease of a TIE Fighter.

It's the 10th Anniversary of Star Wars LEGO, and that's one of the anniversary sets, another is a Y-Wing it seems.

I'm "buying" Legos for my kids...but the Star Wars ones are "not to be played with"! And bigdaddy, I mailed your set out Mon. so you should get it soon.

Fiancee picked me up a few small sets for my birthday. Nothing too crazy because we moved into a new apt on my birthday and had to save money.

Got me:
- Indy Motorcycle Chase
- Indy Lost Tomb
and the one set I really wanted:
- City Coast Guard Helicopter and Life Raft

Very cool

i'm excited that it looks like Creator series are still going....

not to thrilled on construction and farming....

But Pirates get a huge thumbs up for me.

**does happy dance for return of Pirates** Now I can maybe create my dream of LEGO Monkey Island. ;)

Surprised no one mentioned the new Indy sets...LEGO Short Round! LEGO Willie! LEGO Chopped Up Nazi Guy!

The shanghai Surprise is great. But the Flying wing wasn't what I thought it would be. I should have guessed they would use the one piece wing, but I was hoping for brick built wings. Yea. Short round and Willy, might be a buy still.

I'd love to see a custom minifig of Le Chuck.
Those new Indy sets are a must buy for me. Especially that plane
The flying wing does look okay. I like the DC3 from the TRU LE Peril in Peru. That is the best IJ set in my opinion. I have all but the 3 big sets, don't care much for them, thanks to a B2G1 sale.

I stopped by Freddys yesterday, they had the batman, and the new coast guard stuff, I already have the heli, but I was tempted to get the boat and a few things.

Just had to share this... Kmart is now my place to go for lego clearence...

picked up more sets that were marked 30% off, a couple $10 sets... but... here's the pure awesome...

There was this spongebob set that was for 35.... somehow, it's marked down 90%, not even in the system.

Walked out the door with a $3.50 set.... just wow.

they have like the big fish aqua sets and I think one mars set left. There was a mini small tub but it was only down by $2.

Were they all marked as clearance or were you just scanning them randomly. I might have to visit there tomorrow to check it out...I stopped visiting K-mart once they cleaned and organized the video game department which killed the good deals staying "hidden" by not being marked.

Only problem is Kmart is totally YMMV. And even when I have found sets marked down there, they weren't that great a deal. I found some "clearanced" Aqua Zone sets that I thought were a good deal until I checked on line and found out they weren't, and back they went. Other locations around town didn't have anything marked down at all (including the same sets).

I got a copy of the September Lego calendar. For those of us near the store in Potomac Mills, VA a master builder is coming Sept. 12- 14 to build a 8 ft. tall Yoda. The calendar says to come in and help build it. Has anyone done this before? I'd like to take my kids but this is an hour and half drive so I'd like to know if it is worth the gas and time. Also, any idea which day would be better? I was thinking Sunday as the model would probably look more like the finished product so my kids, 6 and 3, would be able to see what it looks like. By the way, the Downtown Disney store in Anaheim, CA is building a 8 ft. R2-D2 Sept. 26-28 also.

My favorite is that LEGO is opening a third store is Mass in September, which is useless. All three stores are on, or very close to, highway 93. So if you stay on it you can hit all three stores.

They really don't need this third store, it would only take 30-45 minutes tops to get to another LEGO Store and should open one somewhere in CT instead.

I think the mall is called South Shore Plaza.

The Advent Calendars were awesome at $15, great at $20, but now $30, that's just way too much.

The new store is at....

250 Granite St
Braintree MA 02184
USA

The page says "Three new LEGO Stores coming in September", but then the other page says October, and something about an exclusive set.

I was just at the Natick Mall store yesterday, admiring a fully-built Millenium Falcon Ultimate Collectors edition.

Also finally got around to finishing the Star Destroyer. It's being displayed proudly in the TV room. Man is that thing massive.

Ugh, I hate the new Natick Mall, it's a mess and the people there look down at you if you aren't wearing their $500 jeans. However The LEGO Store itself is full of wonderful people.

I was at the Bellevue, WA store yesterday. They had on display the death star II collectors set ($400). It was pretty and big. Nothing from the new releases, I was hoping they would have on shelves many of the August releases, but they only had 1-2 of the Coast Guard sets.

Shame, but still gives me a chance to save for that Taj Mahal set. That and I still have a Eifel Tower to work on.

Not a deal just a story of how LEGO is fucking over the USA and Canada.

For some god damn reason LEGO is making several sets for all the other markets besides North America. These sets include 7979 the Castle Advent set that features three unique minifigs including the jester, witch, and some woman! This is complete bullshit if you ask me!

It also turns out that might not be the only set! We are also not going to get the wizard Impulse set, another exclusive minifigure and maybe not going to get the new wheel, roof, and windows bulk sets. This is just bullshit, and everyone should email LEGO telling them it is 100% bullshit. I'm also trying to figure out a way to fuck over LEGO, as they are fucknig over the majority of the fans! LEGO's number one buyer is Germany but the USA is number 2 and this is a dumbass move.

How hard/expensive is it to import these sets?

Very hard to find someone to ship it from overseas. The set is already $30ish and then at least another $10 from shipping is just too much.

The point is LEGO should make every set, that's not a promo, for every country.

Well I took my kids to the Lego store in Potomac Mills Mall in Woodbridge, VA this past Sunday to help build an 8 ft. tall Lego Yoda. It was very cool and definitely worth going if you have kids. The master builder, Dan Steininger, used a two foot tall Lego Yoda made up of mostly 2x4 bricks and duplicated it using 16x8 blocks that all the kids were building at the tables surrounding him. Unfortunately I had to work that night so we couldn't hang around to see it completed. I did take a picture of the model when it was more than half done though...

You can see the little Yoda sitting on top of the bigger Yoda which is finished up to Yoda's hands on his cane.

When the kids finished a block, they could take it up to his area and then receive a $5 off $35 purchase coupon and a certificate with their name on it to show that they helped build an 8 ft. tall Lego Yoda. They could make as many blocks as they wanted but only one coupon and certificate per child. Dan was really great with all the kids. They gave away a couple of cheap Lego sets to those who correctly answered his "trivia" questions. One question was simply name the Star Wars character he was thinking of...well he must of went through all 50 kids there when he came back to my son and I whispered "Jar Jar Binks" in his ear. He blurted it back out and won the last Lego set. (Just goes to show you that even kids hate Jar Jar!) When Dan handed the set to my son, he noticed that my daughter was missing her two front teeth and reached in his pocket and pulled out two 1x1 white bricks and told her they were for replacing her missing teeth. Needless to say, both my kids won't be forgetting this day for a long time.

I also picked up the new Oct. calendar...it has a coupon for double stamps during the whole feakin month! (Figures I didn't see this until after we already bought a couple of sets at the store.) Also more Master Builder events:

Oct. 3 -5 King of Prussia, Pa - 8 ft. tall Yoda
Oct. 11-13 Braintree, Ma - 8 ft. tall Yoda (heads up bigdaddy)
Oct. 17 - 19 Sacramento, Ca - 8 ft. tall R2-D2
Oct. 25 Glendale, Ca - just says meet Master Builder Bryce McGlone

Anybody have any luck finding a Clone Troopers battle pack anywhere? I know the Lego website had them on clearance for all of 30 seconds before they sold out and I was hoping the store would have them but they didn't.

Yeah I'm not liking this splitting of sets.

They should make every set available. or at least offered in their stores... I could see not getting to retail but at least the Lego stores...
snip
Awesome freaking day that was... I just wish there was one around here :(... closest one is oh 400 miles away...

That is one awesome Yoda, and he is huge!

They will be building him at the Braintree one because I think that is the grand opening date. However I live about 90 miles away.

I just got a flyer with my online store order:

Order $75 or more online, get #5611 Public Works for a penny.
Code = PSAS

Better than nothing if anybody is ordering anything anytime soon.

isn't that set like 3.95 or is it 5?

if they had free shipping, it would be worth spending that much, but I try not to pay for legos at retail price.

The set is $3.50, it's better than nothing, but I agree, the free shipping codes are better.

I'm waiting for the TRU BTGO sale they have this time of year, there are several sets I want and I have no money! :D

thanks. i am close to buying stuff from lego but am still looking for a free shipping code :)

Buy 2 get the third free at TRU is back.

However it excludes the licenses, no Star Wars, Mr. Pants of IJ.

EDIT: Well most of the movie licenses, doesn't say anything about Batman.

Batman's included... Seriously interested in that Tumbler/ ice cream truck set.

Yes, it just IJ,SW and Mr. Pants that are not included. That pissed me off because the last sale like this was at Easter and it included IJ and not Creator or something. I wanted 4 IJ sets! :)

I hope they have things when I go later this week, no later than tuesdya I hope.

It's also valid online. Might be worth it for the bigger sets. Wish we could get free shipping.

Incidentally, I see TRU carries Cafe Corner and Green Grocer and both are eligible for the sale, though the latter appears to be OOS at the moment. Find something else around $150 and that's a monumental deal.
