Please do not post referral links in this thread. There are threads for referral links here.
In an older thread everything went to sh*t once it became full of referrals and it was worthless for anything else.
If that starts happening here, I'll delete the thread and be done with it.

If I can find some spare time, I'm thinking of making a couple "Old Quest games on Quest 3 vs PSVR 1 on PS5" graphical comparisons. I can't seem to find much info on weather games stuck on PSVR are worth buying on the Quest 3

I need some advice. I have two headsets already but this thread makes me feel like I'm missing out by not having a quest. I have an Odyssey+ but the sweet spot is so dang small. I also picked up an HTC Vive Focus Plus dirt cheap which is standalone but has a pretty terrible user experience (game streaming is laggy for head tracking) but slightly improved fresnel lenses that I really like. Both are OLED and look nice. I really love the VR experience, but I rarely play either.

I have a 20% circle coupon that expires today. Quest 2 is a no go for me because I know what to expect from the lenses. Are the quest 3 lenses that much better? Should I buy the 128gb, 512gb or neither? Is the wireless PC connection good?

Thanks!

All reports I've heard are that meta refunds are pretty easy to get as long as you've played less than a couple hours and you've owned the game less than 14 days. I've never tried to get a refund for a game myself, though. If you have the patience to deal with this process, you could try out most any game with no risk.

I've only ever had a quest 3 so I can't speak to most of your questions but I've had no issues at all streaming from my PC using steam link. I cast my headset to the TV in the front room and stream from my PC in the office using steam link with no hiccups.

The only thing I really don't like about my quest 3 experience so far is the head strap, it's terrible. I really need to replace it.

I don't have any problem at all with the quest 3 lenses. I still use my quest 2 some, so the comparison of the two is pretty fresh in my mind. I sometimes have to work a little for the sweet spot in the q2, but not one bit in the q3 once I set it up. The q3 doesn't have oled lenses, so blacks aren't quite as black, but they are much clearer. I got the 512 gb, but I have a lot of games and like to keep most of them ready to go. With some newer games taking up more space these days, I just wanted more space. If you tend to enjoy the smaller, simpler games, the 128 gb might be fine. I wish they would have made it 256 gb instead. The quests do download pretty quickly if you have decent internet speeds, too. Don't forget to use a referral link before you activate the headset to get $30 meta store credit for you and the person's link you use. And referral links for games can save you 25% off the price. Referral links can be found here. Feel free to message me if you have any more questions.

Edit- Same as Miguel, my streaming experience has been almost flawless. And just like he said, the strap that comes with the unit sucks. But don't buy the meta brand elite or elite battery straps. They are much too expensive. Check out youtube videos if you want ideas for headstraps- there are a lot of videos out there and I agree with virtually all the reviews I've seen for the headstraps I've had (My 4th q3 headstrap is on it's way).

Thank you both for your responses. I didn't get off the fence before my coupon expired so I'm going to stick with the headsets I have until either the next meta release or a more significant quest 3 discount. But to be sure, I'll continue to lurk this thread and wonder just how much I'm missing out on!

Walmart is giving $50 in meta store credit with the 128gb quest 2 for $249 again.
Gamestop is advertising $25 off any online order of $250 or more when you pick up in-store. So I guess that'll work on quest 2 (It's on the page with it) or quest 3.

For those that have Amazon Prime, you can claim the PC version of Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery VR this month. I remember the reviews being not great, but I wanted to try it, and I'm happy to see Amazon giving away VR content.

Apex Construct and Wraith: The Oblivion - Afterlife sales end in 1 day.

Wraith doesn't look like my kind of game, buy I did pick up Apex Construct, which not only has a Quest 3 graphics update (and recent Quest 2 enhancements), but is also cross-buy with the Rift version.

Flight 74 for $2

Limited time code. I can't verify if it works because I already own it. The store page states it is a 50% off code, but some people are saying 90% off, so I'm not sure.

Recommendations needed for my senior father

Long story short: My father had a botched back surgery years ago and is getting around less and less. He also has some cognitive decline starting. I am buying him a Quest 3 to offer a way to escape the house, encourage exercise, and engage his mind. He was never a gamer so he will need games with very simple controls.

What apps/game would you recommend that are easy to use?

-In the past he wanted to learn to fly a plane, so I'd like to get Ultrawings 2 but worried it might be complicated
-He loves classic rock, what rhythm has the most of that music genre? (Beatsaber Queen?)
-Is Tripp worth it without a subscription?

Planned purchases:

Bigscreen Beta - for watching movies and yutube
Gun Club Reloaded
Fruit Ninja - I think the first one has easier menus
Wooorld - for google maps and looking at places he used to work/live
Real VR Fishing
Pinball FX2 VR - this one is a maybe

I do think Beat Saber has the most classic rock to offer without getting into modding. Along with Queen it offers a rock mixtape pack and a Rolling Stones pack. Not knowing his limitations, I think Ultrawings 2 is probably okay. It eases into things a bit. I haven't tried Tripp enough to really have an opinion, maybe I'll get a chance to jump into it later and get back to you. Other games I think might be worth consideration Epic Roller Coaster-different game modes can keep things interesting. You can just enjoy the ride or add shooting different things along the way. A bowling game- I think both Premium Bowling and Forevr Bowl are solid, but Forevr Bowl has a youtube jukebox and an MR option. A couple puzzle games also offer a MR mode- Cubism and Puzzling Places. And Walkabout Mini Golf is one of the best casual games on the system in my opinion. I'm a bit older than most on here, myself, and have back and leg problems that limit me a bit, so feel free to DM me if I can help any further. And make sure he registers a referral link for a headset before he activates it to get $30 meta store credit for him and whoever you get the link from and there are referral links for all games over $10 that get you 25% off regular price.

Quest+ is adding a "Games Catalog" in addition to the 2 monthly games. Mostly stuff I already have on either Quest or PSVR, but a nice addition to the service. March through the end of May they will offer $25 credit for new annual subscribers ($60 annual subscription), so I will probably join up this time. The March games are Contractors and Shadowpoint (one of the first quest games I bought, before I even had a headset. It is clearly an older game, but I enjoyed it).

FYI referral discounts are stacking with the Saints & Sinners and Retribution sale prices, so you can get them for $15 each if you look in the referral thread(s). I'm not posting a referral link here, but I thought this should be mentioned since they usually don't stack.
