Why do you have to get 1600pts shipped to you? I got a redemption code via email and selected "download it" or whatever for my pts and a code was promptly emailed to me.

When I asked them about the 1600 points they said that what they are going to give me is a code to order it from their site and then it will be shipped to me free or I can opt for the express or whatever they call it.
 
You can choose to get the code digitally. It's almost instant. (order 1600 points and select to receive it digitally)

I got a survey from MS asking about my entire experience. If anyone else gets it I advise them to take it, and be specific. Don't just say they're incompetent. Explain the issue(s) you've had, it's the only way for them to improve.

Also for anyone going into their Live Chat, the first rep you get is just sales help who can't really do anything. Tell them you would like to talk to customer service, and they can transfer you to someone who will do more than say they will escalate your issue after spending 30 minutes talking to them.

Just checked, mine still hasn't been charged yet, nor have I received shipping confirmation.

However, I did already receive the $20 in Live points and the $10 discount on my next order. Those were emailed to me by the resolutions team.

The MS store is relatively new, to my experience, and they're having some major issues as they get off the ground. It's a pity, because the deals are definitely there, but if it's a pain in the butt to make sure you get what you ordered in a timely manner, then people won't be using it much.

I suppose if the game isn't here tomorrow, I'll go buy one from Wallyworld and then return the shrinkwrapped version I get from the MS Store once it arrives.
 
can someone post the link to do a live chat with Microsoft Store? All I see is chatting with the Answer Desk for PC support
 
My card has a hold on it for Forza - store still says "In Process" and I haven't received any e-mails with shipping info.

I should have never ordered from MS, with all the stories in here I'm wondering when I'll get this thing and just how screwed up my order will be.
 
I guess Answer Desk can get you in communication with Customer Service.

Sorry, I just looked around and couldn't find it either - I just called them, not sure of any other way.

They were helpful but really slow so I hope you have time (took me about 20 minutes to cancel a previous pre-order)

I see a charge on my card as well. This will be the third game I'll get from this deal. The first two, I got on release day. So, I expect to receive Forza tomorrow if they stick to how they've been doing things.

I don't think I got shipping notices for the first two.
 
Just a FYI for those who ordered Forza (Oct 23rd release)... My order was just updated with a tracking number and it shows shipping via Next Day Air :) So you may want to check your order status... looks like they will be delivered tomorrow yay!

Cool - I know I was probably over reacting, just seeing all the bad stories in here and knowing my history of Microsoft's customer service filled me with dread. Chances are everything will go fine but still, not getting good vibes.

Still "In Process" I guess I'll have to call MS again but if it hasn't shipped I'm just cancelling and buying this somewhere else.
 
Just checked. Forza Horizon shipped yesterday via UPS Next Day Air Saver, and is scheduled to arrive by the end of business today.

Went ahead and used the $10 coupon on a preorder of Black Ops II. My biggest question was whether or not the game would arrive on launch day, and that's pretty much been answered. Aside from having to do a little follow-up work to make sure I got those codes, it's been a good experience. Hopefully, they'll get that stuff ironed out, but for now, I'm a happy camper. Forza Horizon on launch day, $20 in Live Points for the Skyrim DLC, and $10 off BlOps II, which will also give me $30 in considerations. Plus, with the experience from today, I have some peace of mind that I'll be playing BlOps with my clan after work on launch day.
 
Well, on the phone and they can't tell what's going on with my order. Was told to wait a few days to see if I get an e-mail with a tracking number or not. This is ridiculous, I am going to try to cancel but the guy can't be sure if it goes through or not.

The person on the phone was helpful and nice but I can't believe MS has such horrible systems. I worked for a pretty ghetto company before in terms of paper work but we at least knew when we shipped things.

How can they not know if they sent something out or not? The guy said sometimes the drivers don't sign some paper so MS doesn't know if something has left their hands, can people just walk in to these warehouses and take stuff that easily? If so, where is this warehouse?

I think they're supposed to arrive through your email shortly after you get the game. Not one hundred percent sure - maybe they're including it with the shipment.

I got my codes early, because I contacted the MS Store, both by email and phone, and pointed out that the required coupons weren't being added to my Forza Horizon order. I wanted to cut off any problems before they became issues. A Customer Care specialist went ahead and made sure I got the codes even before the game shipped. So, what was poor at first became excellent when someone stepped up and did their job. A complete and one hundred percent opposite response of what happened when I had a CCARE-worthy incident with ToysRUs earlier this year.

The correct items showed up in my checkout cart when I preordered BlOps II, so I assume everything is "normal" in that case.

They email you the codes usually 1-2 days after the game ships

For some people it gets delayed and it takes 1-2 weeks and some people dont get anything so they have to contact them a few times for them to send out the codes manually
 
I got my copy of Forza Horizon in the mail today! Couldn't be happier. Will get the codes in the next day or two, and may pre-order COD: Black Ops 2 from them as well.

When I pre-ordered Boarderlands 2 & Dishonored, I received my codes right before the games shipped. Forza shipped and is due to arrive today and no codes.:cry:
MS told me that it could take 11 days for them to send out the codes...
 
My Dance Central 3 pre-order codes came in today, about 2 hours after I emailed customer service. Not sure if those events are related or not. It took another hour after I entered the code to get the digital points.

I would probably buy from Microsoft store again, but only if they had a deal that was too good to pass up. Although my game came immediately, I don't think I'd trust them for a game I need to play day-one (like Borderlands 2).

Probably a coincidence since I also got my codes and I didn't contact customer service at all.
 
So did Forza not come with any preorder bonuses, other than the pts and GC. I had assumed it would at least come with something considering its a microsoft game and other retailers have some dlc for preorders. Opened the box expecting an online pass or something to get some extra dlc for buying new, but nothing.

It was supposed to come with a code for the Nissan 370z, I did not get a code for this when I picked up my preorder. And since they no longer have a display for preorders I couldn't show them that it was advertised.

the Microsoft store never offered the 370Z. It was other retailers like Newegg that offered it. which was fine with me. rather have the 1600 points and $10 then a fake digital car.

I know what your links say. maybe it was supposed to originally. but I remember when I was shopping the preorders, the Microsoft store did not offer the 370Z, and the reason I remember at not seeing it on the product page is I remember being disappointed that I wasn't getting the preorder bonus versus what the other retailers were offering. but I remember doing an "oh well, I get 1600 points and $10 instead" and accepting that rather than buying somewhere else to get a digital car.
 
Anyone else have two charges on their credit card? for dc3 I have two charges for the same amount on 10/16 and 10/17. I called today and after 30 minutes and not really understanding the lady I was told the first is a preauth, but it's still on my account today. do the charges take a week to go away or something?
 
azteg 28: Charge authorizations usually go away in three days, although some banks or card issuers may take longer.

BTW, Horizon arrived yesterday. Great game, will probably be available cheap Black Friday, so if you missed a preorder deal, might want to watch for it.
 
So fucking ridiculous. I preordered Forza a while ago, but somehow the promo was never attached to my order. I talked with someone through chat yesterday, who said they would talk to their supervisor to find out what happened and call me back. Of course they never did. Then I chat again today, and they basically say "sorry, nothing I can do, if you want help, call us". So now I need to waste even more time and call them up. I swear I'm close to just calling my credit card company and disputing the charge.
 
Good thing I bothered to call and have this issue escalated, because they've managed to do nothing. If they tell you they will be contacting you in 24 hours... Don't you believe it.
 
My copy has said "In Process" for over two days now. Two phone calls have led to nothing more than "The game was just released yesterday, so we're still in the process of shipping them out." What a joke.

Well obviously customers who preorder are supposed to get the game later than people who just walk into a store after launch and buy the game without having had to preorder.

ive never bought off of the MS Store before but if I preorder Halo 4 and get that $25 voucher do I get it immediately or do I get it after the game is released? I wanna use it to get Forza Horizon
 
Can anyone confirm that the B&M stores will be giving $25 coupons at the Halo 4 midnight launch? Not the $25 bonus GC. Someone in the bing it on thread mentioned this, but when I asked they said they had no idea what was being planned.

The process seems to be that you'll get a code in your email a few days after you receive the game.

Horizon is fun, by the way. Think one-third Forza, one-third Project Gotham, and one-third Test Drive Unlimited.
