I had a cool experience today. I went to a giant Farm Show that takes place in the Midwest each year and was walking around when I saw a man in a company's booth that looked like Matt Hughes. Yeah sure enough it was, he was signing autographs and taking pictures with people, all for free. I am guessing he is sponsored by this company he was with today. But anyways, the line for autographs was really short and moved quick so I only had to wait in line for about 2 minutes. He asked what my name was and then I told him I am a huge MMA and UFC fan you know the usual ass-kissing you do when you meet someone as high-profile as him. He gave me an autographed poster and was super cool the whole time. This was the first fighter I've ever met so it was pretty cool experience, especially as how when I woke up this morning I had no idea I would meet Matt Hughes today.

That's pretty cool. If I met Matt Hughes, I'd ask him "How come you're such a dick toward other fighters?" And then I'd run away, haha :)

I know Matt Young was saying he met Tito Ortiz AND Jenna Jameson last week at a WWE event. If I met Tito Ortiz, I'd ask him "Dude...can I bone your wife?" And then I'd run away. ;)
If I met Matt Hughes I would ask if it really was him since him and his brother are twins.
So, does that make the answer to my question...because he is Mark Hughes' evil twin?

I was checking out the UFC 103 undercard and had no clue who any of those fighters are.
http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=eventDetail.fightCard&eid=2277

I'm glad Spike TV will show part of the undercard with no commercials right before UFC 103 starts. It's probably a one time deal due to Mayweather vs Marquez happening at the same time. If they do this for more events, it will get more people to order the PPV at home instead of going to sports bars. From personal experience it's much better to chill at home and watch the event on the couch with cheap ass PBR and home cooked food lol.

The main card looks solid though. Rooting for Cro Cop to do a round 1 head kick KO.

there are some solid guys on the undercard. vlad is a former #1 contender. exciting to see daley in the ufc.

while im a crocop fan and id like to see a return to glory, i think its a bad fight for him. dos santos is a badass. should be an exciting fight, thats one fight on the card id bet doesnt go to dec.
Zewone spewing shit. Why am I not surprised?
 Do I know you?

103 looks alright. My cousin is footing the bill so I'll definitely be catching it.

Strikeforce: The Last Emperor vs The Grim. I'm glad this one got setup, should be a great fight and if Rogers improves his ground and takedown game he has a chance for a huge upset.

no he doesn't, lol.

I guess it certainly could.

Rogers has "punchers" chance against Fedor that's about all. I can't wait to see how Fedor handles a cage.

Seriously hope the reason Dana was absent from the press conference was working a deal for a TV contract. Imagine ESPN carrying MMA?!?

i've run into a bunch of fighters in vegas. they were all pretty nice, even chuck (who gets mobbed like crazy). i helped ben rothwell troll brad imes once, ben wanted me to run up to imes (who's a huge guy) and ask him for a picture. when imes agreed, i was to hand him my camera and go post next to rothwell so he could take a pic of us. imes is just too nice of a country boy i guess and didn't even realize he was getting pranked. he took the picture without complaint, and didn't assume i should have any clue who he was. fun times.

The only fighter I've ever met was Mark Coleman. I was watching the UFC event where Chuck lost the title to Jackson at a bar in Columbus and out of nowhere, here comes Coleman sitting next to me.

Awesome!
The Hammer just appears in places around Columbus I saw him at Eddie George's Grill once.
No. I have trained in BJJ for just over 10 years now. That's great that you're 30 years old though, man. Congrats. :applause:
Y'know this is a pretty bold claim.
I'll investigate it a bit with google.

From what I can tell this is you. Artwork, interests in fights, disrespect of Randy/Nog, and username are a match. Same also with fakepimpin' phrases like skippin bail/drinkin' ale, whatever.

Now if you live Fresno, CA then you most likely would have had to spent 10 years training here:

with this guy:

http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Tosh-Cook-2592

Who hasn't even been doing BJJ that long from what I can tell.

What belt are you anyway?
I tried to call the gym and ask about you but there's no daytime answering I guess.

Also since you're 24 that means you started combat sports at the young age of 14. I've never seen anyone in any of the 3 MMA gyms I've trained at under 18, unless their parent brought them along.

I don't normally go out of my way like this, but I dislike people that make false claims.

Just to clarify. I went to a BJJ school in Clovis, CA as a kid. Since then I've trained in Modesto, CA. I also trained out of Fresno State college. I'm not some sort of pro. I do it now with my friends and family who also have an interest in BJJ. All amateur. I never claimed to be training out of a gym.

People said the same thing before the Mike Tyson vs Buster Douglas fight; then again I didn't think nor do I hope that anyone in Rogers family is passing away before the fight (thats what happened to Douglas).

Pardon me, but, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

HAHAHAHA. What were you going to ask if they answered? Hey is zewone there? Or would you go all out with somthing like "Some dude is trying to one up me on a video game message board so I want to confirm if he trains there. His name is uh... zewone.

I'm not getting involved in what you are talking about but to answer DT778's question, one could call inquiring if he trains and what belt he is as he has applied for a personal security job and want to verify his credentials and skills; but yes you'd need a full-name.

When's the next season of TUF start? It seems like forever ago that they started those Rampage/Rashad/Kimbo promos.

I really want to see how Kimbo does.

That's like, legit, crazy.

It's also a violation of CAG's TOS. I'd suggest you delete your post before getting banned.

What is BJJ? Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

And I've been watching a lot of WEC lately .. I love Cerrone. That guy is bad ass. I get the impression he doesn't even care about winning. He just wants to beat people up.

I believe he's scheduled to fight Henderson 10/13. I can't wait to see Cerrone beat his bitch ass.

Haha, I love Rampage. "I got Kimbo Slice!" I knew there was no way they wouldn't put Kimbo with Rampage. It just makes sense. I actually felt bad for Kimbo though. Everybody started laughing when he walked in (although having his own Tapout line shirt on makes it almost justifiable). I hope he really learned something in his time there...whether he wins or not.

Damnit Rampage, I'm already looking forward to seeing you in TUF why must you make me wait for now a possibly watered down match against Evans.

Rashad Evans confirms UFC 107 bout with Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is off

by John Morgan on Sep 08, 2009 at 8:10 pm ET
rashad-evans-10.jpg
The speculation is over.

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (30-7 MMA, 5-1 UFC) will not be fighting Rashad Evans (13-1-1 MMA, 8-1-1 UFC) at UFC 107 in December.

While the potential for Jackson to withdraw from the event has been discussed for weeks, Evans today confirmed in an interview with Bruce Buffer that the fight has been delayed until at least 2010.

The interview aired on today's episode of "It's Time" on the Sherdog Radio Network.

"It's definitely off for the 12th," Evans said. "It's just disappointing because as a fighter you get your mind wrapped around when you're going to have to fight. Then you kind of just gear up toward it and put everything in place for that time. You take care of a lot of things you need to take care of so when you're in camp you don't have to worry about it. To find out its not going to be happening when you want it to happen is always a little bit of a letdown."

While multiple outlets have reported on the potential for Jackson to take on the role of B.A. Baracus in a feature version of "The A-Team," Evans said until recently he believed it wasn't going to happen.

"I heard a little bit about it at the last UFC, 102, and (UFC president) Dana (White) said he was working to resolve the issue, and he was pretty confident that he was going to have some kind of resolution by the end of the week," Evans said. "But then things must have took a turn for the worse and it wasn't going to be resolved. The end result was him definitely pulling out."

While White made his feelings on the subject obvious at a pre-UFC 102 press conference, Evans echoed the sentiments that fighters should stick to what they do best.

"I would stick with my obligations to do the fight (if I was in the same situation)," Evans said. "I know that he has an amazing opportunity to do this acting role, but then at the same time, at the end of the day he's still going to be just a fighter. He's not going to be an actor."

As opposing coaches on the upcoming tenth season of "The Ultimate Fighter," Evans and Jackson were supposed to clash at the conclusion of the series. Evans said he still believes his next fight will be with Jackson, he's just not sure when it will be.

"I'm pretty positive that it's going to be my next fight," Evans said. "They haven't nailed down any dates, but they did say it was going to be after the New Year. I think they were waiting to speak with Quinton's guys and find out exactly when exactly he feels he should be ready. They just want to get it done and over with, and they're just trying to work with him and see what they can do."

With the official removal of Evans vs. Jackson from the card, UFC 107 now includes:

 • Champ B.J. Penn vs. Diego Sanchez (for lightweight title)*
 • Cheick Kongo vs. Frank Mir*
 • Thiago Alves vs. Paulo Thiago*
* - Not officially announced
