If I didn't already own WoFF for Vita, and WoFF+Maxima on PS4, I'd be all over that.

Related to FF, though, anyone have thoughts on FFXVPocket? I've cleared out the standard version of the game, but wouldn't necessarily mind a simplified, on-the-go version if it runs well on Switch and is worth the cost...

I bought hollow knight about 9 months ago for $7.50

finally picked up unexplored after missing it on sale the last 2 times.  the game is much better than I'd hope for but very hard.

still waiting for 20xx and a robot named fight to go on sale.

 
Anyone know how AC 3 and 4 or Splinter Cell Blacklist are on Wii U? Have them on other platforms but for $5 thought it might be decent to have them for GamePad play while the TV is in use.

They are all fine. Played all of them on Wiiu. I actually miss the old AC Multiplayer modes those were fun. For $5 I thinnk you are good getting them all

I bought it like 2 weeks go on the Mexico shop for like $7.74, I think that is the normal price on there. It's worth the $15 and probably more, so at the $7 and change, it's a no brainer.

Just google how to do it, it takes like 2 minutes to get the MXN shop on your Switch.

I really think Kirby is fun and interesting/unique. I think my son will enjoy it more, your right about that but still great game, especially not ever having played Kirby when I was young .... but if you are correct in Yoshi as well , I agree : I’m cancelling my pre order and I’ll just wait for $35 /(BF price )

I haven't bought a Nintendo game in over two years, so I thought that this was the best place to ask this question.  I got an email from Nintendo saying that I can save 30% off of a select Nintendo game because my birthday happens this month, but I only have a 3DS and a Wii U.  Do they even sell Wii U games on the eShop anymore?  I haven't seen Wii U games in Frisky's deal posts, so I assume that isn't a thing anymore.

Thanks for responding, Frisky. As I said in my original post, I haven't bought a Nintendo game on the eShop in over 2 years, so I rarely visit this thread. I had been boycotting Nintendo as a corporation for various reasons that I won't get into here, but after picking up a few of the Lego Wii U games as a part of the buy four used physical games for $10 sale that GameStop is currently doing, I turned on my Wii U again last week for the first time in a year and remembered that it was a decent system. I have no desire (and no money) to own a Switch, so Wii U might be my last Nintendo system.

So, thanks for letting me know that Wii U game sales are still a thing. I will see what the 30% coupon is useful for. I assume from 7String's post that these coupons are coveted for some reason or another.

The coupon works only on the selected games they send you its like a selection of 12 or something.

It's added to your mynintendo account but it has a time limit, normally the list of games sucks, so go ahead and click through and be disappointed.

Yes that is annoying, I finally caved and traded in my physical copy for the digital version. Got $20 at GameStop for the physical version with their current promo. Used that for a $20 eshop card and got digital gold. Now I just need to find the time to finish the main game and DLC in addition to the rest of my pile of shame.

They have put some on sale but it is very rare. I recall there being some small discount on Hyrule Warriors DLC around the time the 3DS version came out, but I might be mistaken. Typically Nintendo's idea of offering a "deal" on DLC is offering it up in bundles that result in it being cheaper than the individual DLC bought separately. They also don't really do "Game of the Year" editions, but they have at least made their WiiU to Switch ports include DLC.

I did this yesterday, with GameStop trade in for the game (base value $15) it was still cheaper than buying the DLC and I was looking for an excuse to go digital which I would have paid a little extra for anyway.
 
Played FF9 today. Very surprised how poorly the 3d models look and how long some loading screens are. Regardless it's fun to play this on handheld after missing it back in PSX days.

I just can't justify buying it again when I never found it amazing to begin with. Fun game, sure, but eh. I have it on PS1, and got it discounted on PS4. I don't enjoy it enough to swing for a portable version.

 
I vaguely remember FF9 way back when. The "Who won?" Bush/Gore debacle was going on and the game was a nice distraction from politics. (I had no idea how good we had it back then) I remember much being said about how Square was really "going back to their roots" with that one.  I got through it ok, enjoyed it, just like 8 before. But something about 8 or 9 did not have nearly the staying power of FF6 or FF7. I must have played those games front and back six times over.

Can someone tell me when is the expiration date for Starlink Deluxe Edition? I am not at home and I see it is on sale and I have been waiting on it to go on sale forever. Did not want to miss out on this one since this is the 1st time it has been cut in half since New Years Eve.

To me, it's more of a historical thing than anything. The fact a Nintendo system is getting numbered mainline installments again (not spinoffs like XV: Pocket Edition or XII: Revenant Wings), albeit ports, would be big to Nintendo fans. But other than that, it's going to be same game you've played on PS3/4.
