I think you and I were discussing Slay the Spire earlier on here. How does it compare? Asking cause I love Slay the Spire.

 
I actually bought Slay the Spire on Switch. Massively different honestly. Hand of Gilgamesh feels like an RPG with a card battle system where you gather gears to do attacks and other abilities. Stronger attacks require more gears. You also need to mitigate a lot of attacks especially for harder bosses. There are chapters and multiple characters and many cards to acquire for many different play styles. If you choose hard some fights can be extremely challenging. This isn't a rouge like though and has saves and all. It's good though. I highly recommend it and am approaching 28 hours I think. I am close to 100% the game other than the arena.

Glaive : Brick Breaker is a solid pickup for only $1. It has some new mechanics that I've never seen on a brick breaker game before like paddles on the top and bottom. And it's pretty challenging, right off the bat there are those stubborn bricks you have to hit multiple times to destroy. It takes a little while to get a feel for the controls, but I found myself enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. They recently put out an update that added:

Level Creator mode

New locations to play

New powerups

New mechanic - crazy shot (earn enough power in game to fire game changing ball!)

New brick types - try to destroy bricks that hide from you or bricks that can catch and shoot back your ball

New unlockable skins for your Glaive

New Endurance game mode

Almost 100 new stages in game to play in arcade and versus.

Adjusted game aspects for better gameplay and responsiveness

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to play it in vertical mode, but maybe they will include that in a future update.

Holy cow My Friend Pedro is so goddamn fun. This is the type of game I didn't know I needed until I had it. Highly recommended.

Gotcha, I played it on PS4 and don't recall any performance issues, but it didn't really click for me either. Played probably half of it before putting it down.

Yea. I played Rime on the XbOne and actually really enjoyed it.

But, from what I understand, the Switch version was plagued with frame rate, lag, slowdown, pop-ins, and all kinds of horrible issues.
There was one review I read that they were like me, played it on XbOne and liked it, but it was utterly unplayable on the Switch.

The video I posted above shows off a good bit of how it plays on Switch, which mostly works. The keyboard is a bit weird since it's split between using the left and right sticks/triggers to type and there are some obtuse UI elements that took me a bit to figure out. It is very devoted to trying to give the experience of what using a Windows XP-era PC was like, though it can be tedious at times if you're trying to download files from an IP and have to type "download _" over and over again. There are also some typos and no save function, so you have to complete a chapter to reach an autosave and quitting out mid-chapter forces you to start it over again when you come back to it. It's probably a better purchase at a cheaper price, but it's a pretty cool experience.

I used this same deal on massgenie last time it came around and got two $50 eshop cards to buy a voucher with no problems. Debating whether or not its worth it to do it again.

I played through Rime and completed it on the switch and had no issues about a year ago. Pretty sure the game has been patched for many of the launch issues.

I think you have to wait for the timer on the first code you bought to run out then another one starts and you can then buy in on that. Its confusing, but it works. Once the timer runs out for the deal you bought in on you can find your code under the tracking number in account details.

Likely a response to Walmart pricing. With Walmart doing their lower prices on new releases it’s making it easier to skip preordering since I’ll save more just waiting. It’s a nice thing since I gave up Prime and never had GCU but still can get a solid deal for games at launch.

The only bad thing with this release is it’s incomplete and likely requires a day one patch like the other versions.

I like to buy games that aren’t broken at release so if I want to play them in the future it won’t be a problem. If I don’t care much about the game then I’m cool buying them broken and getting updates or just going digital since when the eShop goes down like it did for Wii and DSi it won’t matter anyway.

I prefer physical media for my most anticipated games, as well, but not for reasons of longevity. Since these days you can back up pretty nearly every console’s storage media really easily and access it from external drives, I think digital’s the better choice for preserving games.

I was wanting to pick some up too. Maybe all 3? I LOVE Turn Based JRPGs and hoping theses would be decent.

I am assuming that if you like the Kemco games on the mobiles then these would be good?????? It appears that they may even be Kemco games. They all have mediocre to low scores on Metacritic, but they only have 2-3 reviewers.
Maybe they will be OK???? Anyone?? Anyone??

 
Has anyone who backed Bloodstained Rotn digital copy get their code from fan gamer yet? I was hoping they’d be sent early so I could pre-install it. Most likely we’ll get the codes after the 25th.

You can log in and see your code if it’s been issued. Last I checked it told me to come back on the 25th. I ended up buying it on Xbox because I didn’t want to wait and now I have to anyway for the dumb patch. What I got to play was really good though.
