There's a free Guitar Hero III theme up. You have to click the Legends of Rock Weekend banner, it was on the main Xbox Live blade for me.

Theme is so-so, it's got 'in-action' shots of Johnny, Judy, Lars and Xavier, and the guide background is some kind of garish, puke yellow metal studded texture.

For the Guitar Hero III free pics/themes, its just like the Halloween one's, you have to find both banners and download from there.

Indeed. The only places the Weekend banner shows up for me are the blades where I can't click the ads. The only GH3 banner I get in clickable ads is just for the game itself and doesnt give any links to a theme/pic. :bomb:
 
I can't find it, I looked all over for it. Do you remember what the ad looked like exactly? The clickable ones I see are just saying Guitar Hero III, nothing about weekend. There's a snippet of it in the GHIII, but it only is a summary.

Go to the marketplace, let the ads load, if its not GHIII's weekend press B and then A to go back to the markeplace and try again. This can be done under the "New Games" section or under the "Gamerpics" & "Themes" section.

I did that for about an hour without the weekend banner appearing once, so I gave up. Every single time it was just the regular banner with no option for theme/pics. Seriously, this is an absolutely retarded way of giving out free stuff.

I updated them on the OP a couple days ago. There's no previews online, but you can preview them on the Marketplace. I got the Factions one, its basically the logos of the teams.

Yea I saw you can preview the Gamerpics but not the Themes. I'll probably bite on the Scenes one since I got it in COD3 and liked it a lot.
 
Hm, Linkin, are you registered for the weekend itself? It's possible that that is why you get the pictures but we don't. All I'm seeing is the normal GH3 ad, not the Weekend one except in the unclickable ads.

Edit:Looking closer, the two that say they have the themes here have played GH3 whereas the rest of us haven't. Maybe it's locked only to people who have the game?

Edit of Edit:Seems to just be random. Really really rare random. Ugh.

I check for new demos and the Katamari DLC just about every night after 1 or 2 am Pacific. Finally, there's a new demo up, but for an "old" game: [highlight]Two Worlds[/highlight]... I'm getting it now - at least I can try it out and see if it is as bad as people say.

No Katamari DLC yet...

Two Worlds demo didn't seem nearly as bad as everyone has made it out to be, but it definitely isn't as good as oblivion IMO.

Also, whats up with not being able to make a female hero in the demo or the fact that the only conversation you can have with a woman is if she'll have relations with you?
 
i didn't want to start a new thread so i thought this would fit the thread. is there something wrong with xbox.com? you can't login anymore and everyones' gamercards are messed up.
