it not exclusive it just the game release in 3 weeks and it was only announced a week ago so stores only have a 1 month window between it being announced and released the developers lagged it on the announcement

Yeah - I can't remember a company that I've been more disappointed in than Best Buy with their CE pre-orders! It was my primary reason for getting GCU and so far I've managed to get 2 out of the last 10 or so CEs from them either because they waited til everyone else sold out and put it up online only a week+ later, or because they just never (or haven't yet) posted it.

Not custom at all! I think they were around $75 each and I snagged them from IKEA last year so they should still make/sell them. Each unit holds 400+ games or you can gut the last two shelves so it holds 300 DVD9's and use the bottom partition for collector's edition storage.

So I was looking at some of my strat guide values on Amazon & I saw the PS3 CE of Lightning Returns is $150 used & almost $300 new on Amazon?!

How did the CE of a mediocre game, availability issues aside, triple in value?!

it a final fantasy game and they usually have quite a large following and some people get every collector set of a game series even the bad one to complete there set.

Those prices are extremely high, sure, but are any selling at that range? That's the important question.

 
Also I posted on best buy forum last week asking about if best buy will carry the lords of the fallen CE and have yet to recieve any kind of response

yea i know it doubtful since the game release in 3 weeks but it was worth a try and they said over a month ago they were listing MH4 & Bloodborne CE and both those been in limbo as well.

 
kinda of a week late but seriously Nintendo world store in NYC only had 300 Hyrule Warriors CE's available? and knowing nintendo logic they probably didnt even put a limit on how many 1 person could buy at once

I got there at around 6:30 am and there around 300 people in front of me. They gave the first few hundred people a wristband to know who was gonna get one. I'm sure that they had a limit of 1 per person. I think they only had around 200 copies.

yea still was cheap of nintendo to make only that small amount available to the united states and even more so limited to one city. I still would prefer the Japanese CE though

Well I saw the Monster Hunter 4 CE at NY Comic Con today.  The blue chest looked really cheap.  It was made of a thin matte thin paper stock.  I think the cleaning clothing showing either some random forest type of scenery or maybe it was a world map.  The figure like in product pictures seen already looks similar in person.  Anyways I'm still buying even though chest doesn't look great, so I can make complete set of Felyne pins.  FYI the Felyne with green helmet seems to be a convention/event exclusive for pre-ordering or playing the demo.  The rest of pins I think are same as they are removed from the Capcom online store.

Called Gamestop yesterday and they told me they will not be getting the Lords of the Fallen CE. Not sure if they knew for sure or were just assuming.

Might be an Amazon.com exclusive and right now on Amazon it's sold out. Just a heads up. If Gamestop doesn't get it, I doubt Best Buy does.

sometime i wonder what the point in my GCU is if best buy dont even list half the the CE's. Still over a month on both MH4 CE & Bloodborne CE since best buy confirmed they were putting the listings up and still nothing

For some period of time you could pre-order the Limited version of the order for like $50 on BB.com. Believe it was july 4th now that I think about it. Ah it was the collectors edition I mean, the one that shows 79.99 now.

It'll only stop if/when stores start limiting stock to one or two per person. On the plus side, there's bound to be additional stock available on release day (cancelled orders, failed payments, etc).

It was in stock for over a week, maybe longer. Why did you wait to preorder considering Amazon doesn't charge until shipment?

It's sad that 1 week is considered a long amount of time to lock in a preorder. Not everyone has the time to stalk sites waiting for CE listings.

I don't know about long, but I personally consider it reasonable. You're right that not everyone has time to pay attention to preorders opening up for various items, but the reality is that if it was really important to you, you would make the time and it was certainly discussed in this thread and elsewhere. People would still be complaining if preorders were open for months and they missed it. The truth is that the people complaining are only doing so because it looks like it might really be limited (sold out and only available through one retailer). I personally find that sad.

I have strong negative feelings about flippers, but I also have strong negative feelings about people that don't pay attention and then blame others. I think this particular instance falls in the latter category.
