So Wario64 said the FF Type 0 CE is already sold out on Amazon for both systems.
bummer. I almost always pre-order through Amazon just as a placeholder, but just couldn't bring myself to do it for this FF. Might do it if they're up again just in case, but I imagine it won't hold its value too much down the road.

Holy. I wonder how many editions were available outside of the Square website. That's impressive, it's only been a few days.

Yay! Replacement boxes for KH 2.5 CE. That makes me pretty happy ^.^. Too bad I can't keep my current box sealed though :(

Pretty disturbing that it took them three weeks and all they are offering is folded replacement boxes. I think I am going to request a partial refund as well as they didn't provide Priority Shipping that they charged for and while I don't plan to sell mine, it's worth substantially less than a sealed one.

What else do you expect them to do? It's not like any of the contents inside were damaged. Its a freaking cardboard box.

I expect them to do the same thing NIS, Aksys and every other niche game publisher selling through their own store does. If you charge someone $120 for a brand new game, you either deliver that game in new condition or you replace the damaged copy with a factory sealed one that isn't damaged. When NIS changed fulfillment companies and people received damaged copies of Danganronpa, they replaced every single damaged copy at their expense within days of people calling to report the problem, sometimes multiple times until they got it right. NIS doesn't have anywhere near the resources that Square does.

If you're fine with publishers sending you damaged goods, that's great. Some of us actually care about the condition of what goes in our collections and expect undamaged, factory sealed goods to be delivered in exchange for paying the sometimes exorbitant prices publishers are now charging for CEs.

DR 2 copies had the broken coin though, not the case. I'm pretty sure its fairly standard to ship a replacement box when the outside gets damaged. NIS will usually only give you a replacement box, maybe with a $5 coupon since they're nice.

Except for this is a box that is damaged and not the contents (the actual value of the product) inside of it. So they are sending you guys a new box to put your contents in. Switch over the items and put some tape on it if you really want to just have them all sitting in a box that you can't even see inside of.

Yep, when I received my two copies of Disgaea D2 with LE box damage NIS sent me replacement boxes.

Incorrect. When Danganronpa (the first one) was shipped damaged, they offered every single person that called or e-mailed the choice of just a replacement box or a full sealed replacement, no questions asked. Similarly, Bandai Namco sold a very limited Armored Core CE a couple of years back and several of us received damaged boxes because they shipped them in form fitting boxes and they immediately sent return labels and shipped new sealed copies in huge double ply boxes with an ocean of bubble wrap and peanuts. This is the first time I have ever dealt with a publisher that refused to replace the entire item and on top of that, took three weeks to even provide a solution.

Are you familiar with the concept of a factory sealed product or do you go into Gamestop and think nothing of buying gutted games for full price?

Type-0 already sold out at Amazon?

And what's this about a KD2.5 HE CE replacement box?

Of course I am familiar with a factory sealed product. What kinda dumb question was that?
I paid for a factory sealed product. They are now providing me with something less than that which on a personal level and on the open market has far less value than that. Whether you care about having a sealed box or not, I do and so do many other collectors and Ebay buyers.

So basically you are mad because you can not flip it for as high of an amount. Ok gotcha.

No, I'm just a picky collector. I have never flipped a single game I have purchased and I have been collecting for over 20 years. Having said that, flippers are also entitled to a sealed replacement IMHO as they paid full price just like everyone else.

For people who received a damaged KD2.5CE from Square/Pepita/Cinram, Square is now offering to ship out a replacement box only shipped flat. You have to open a ticket and they will take several weeks to respond.

Three weeks to decide to reprint packaging is not that long. If you understand anything about the logistics of manufacturing at this level then this is pretty acceptable. It's not like CS can just walk over to Xerox machine, make a copy and drop it in the mail to you.

Yea, totally not because some of us have every NIS limited edition, and don't want a crushed one to ruin that collection. Nope, not at all.

Actually, I lied. I'm missing the CEs for Mana Khemia, and Atelier Annie.

Edit: The Scholarship Edition of Mana Khemia. I have the normal CE.

They provided no updates in that time at all. In fact, they didn't even respond at all when people called or e-mailed to get an update on what was going on. If they had responded within a day or two of being contacted and said "we are ordering replacements and will send them out" or "we don't have replacements but will provide a refund", that would have at least been good customer service. As it stands, several people have asked for return labels and a full refund and they have been totally ignored.

They probably didn't know which way management was going to go. CS is not in the business of making promises that may or may not happen, and are out of their control. The guy answering emails and phone calls doesn't know that new boxes are going to be made until his boss tells him.

I feel sorry for the poor bastard that has to deal with whiney bitches. At least Square Enix made a decision to compensate their customers. They could have taken the Activision route and just offered a refund if you returned it, or told you to keep your damaged box and be happy.

That seems to refute your point earlier about the lead time required to order replacement boxes. As I said, the e-mail I got yesterday said they now have replacement boxes in hand and can ship them out. As such, they have known that was going to be their proposed solution for at least a couple of weeks now and failed to communicate with their customers.

As for "whiney bitches", I don't think contacting a company to hold them accountable to provide what you paid for makes someone a whiney bitch. I think it makes them a good consumer. Frankly, they have ignored the return/refund requests people have made, so I would consider Square to be less honest in this particular case than Activision. Their position seems to be, accept the replacement box or nothing.

Neat. How does one go about opening a ticket? Just email them?

I believe they are sold out on Amazon for the Type-0.
Damn, how long was it up? Didn't think it would sell out that fast... here's hoping BBY gets it though it seems like BBY doesn't get all CEs.

A day maybe. 2 at the most.

I'm hoping BB gets it as well so I can get my 20% off.

I cant believe theres people here actually trying to defend Square Enix!!! When we pay for a product we expect it to come in mint condition!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to invest in an inflatable raft so I can navigate all these tears...

for fucks sake if you're that unhappy just return the god damn thing. I just love reading all your posts with the words "entitled" and "refute" in them. Nothing more awesome in this world then a scholarly little whiny bitch.
Your reading comprehension seems pretty limited, so let me put this in terms you might understand. Square is refusing to even acknowledge requests to return for a refund. As such, I don't understand how you think anyone can return "the god damn thing" unless you want people to send it back on their own dime (to what address I'm not sure since Cinram was listed on the invoice as the shipper along with their phone number but they just shipped it out under direction from Pepita who was a contractor for Square and nobody seems to be willing to provide information about how to do a return/refund) and risk not getting a refund. If you know of a way to get a refund from Square, please let us know as there are a number of people here and elsewhere who have asked weeks ago now and who Square continues to ignore.

For everyone that has had to go through the ordeal of receiving a damaged KH2.5 from S-E, I feel for you.  But please don't make the same mistake again for their next game as long as they continue to use the same shipper for their games.  Your mightiest weapon against the company is your wallet, and if you refuse to spend any money on their product they will get the message.  I just hope we don't see a bunch of stupid back and forth in this thread when the next S-E game ships...I thoroughly enjoy this thread, EXCEPT for when people post emotional and inflammatory and ultimately immature things in here...

Lol, bojay1997 is arguing with like 6 people at once now, the guys an absolute moron and an OCD entitlement minded picky ass calling himself a "collector". He brings shame to real collectors. Don't know why anyone responds to him.

That's no fun man. I secretly wish every LE has issues, more fun that way

For christs sake, take your new box or return the thing completely. Either way just shut the fuck up and move on. If you're going to take a stand against something in life at least make it something worth a damn.

I do feel bad for the CS reps. I work retail so I know what it's like dealing with unreasonable people.

Sorry to ask again, but how are you guys getting a replacement box for the KH2.5 CE box? I haven't had much time to browse the thread due to being pre-occupied in the whole Amiibo fiasco.

Some of us contacted SE when we first got the game and they offered a replacement box for the time being. Don't know if you'll be to late to contact them about it.

From my knowledge of stock printing, 3 weeks is a reasonable time to get a replacement box. Unless I read wrong, I don't see the problem with that.

Yeah I agree. All I care about is a solution. In fact, I specifically asked either a new box or a refund lol.

For the last time, a refund/return is not an option because Square refuses to respond to anyone who has asked for one. When asked about it over the phone, the rep repeatedly says they can't do anything and you'll have to open a ticket. Square refuses to reply to tickets asking for a refund/return. The only option they have given to date is to receive a replacement box. If they had said, "I'm sorry, we have no replacements, but we are happy to offer a refund or a replacement box", I would have been disappointed, but I would have understood. Giving people the choice of a replacement box or nothing is what I am complaining about when they should offer a full replacement or a full refund and frankly, I believe it is worth pushing back on big companies like this that are only looking to maximize their profit off collectors and have no interest in providing good customer service or proper shipping.

You should teach them a lesson. Never buy from them again.

I'm sure nobody else would appreciate a KH limited CE that, God forbid, has a replacement box.

Square-enix announced a Collector's set for FFXIV: Heavensward at the JP fanfest a little bit ago. No info on pricing but it contains the expansion, a dragon figurine (which you unlock as a mount), an art book, three in-game items, and I think a blu-ray ost like they did with the first one. There will also be a digital CE for those that only want the in-game items.

You have no idea how excited I am. Definitely buying. Not sure where you pre-order or if it's too early but here's an article with them talking in more detail and pictures. http://kotaku.com/check-out-final-fantasy-xivs-new-race-raid-and-classe-1673451919

to those asking on nisa limiteds etc.. i own every single one they have put out.  they are well worth the money to get.   as far as the SE bs with kh 2.5 ce i finally got a response back after 2 weeks that they would send me a box but wouldnt send me a new sealed undamaged one.   they said is this ok with you and i told them no i want either a sealed new one for my collection or a refund and now its been a week still no response.  if i dont hear back from them on monday im just filing a chargeback with my credit card company to protect myself from losing out on money if they try to say its too late for a refund.  this is why i love nisa's company sandi (the head rep over their and a sweet lady) makes sure that everything they sell is wrapped carefully.

FYI, there are 2 things you should know about filing a chargeback, if you haven't done it before:

1. You generally have 6 months after the charge to file one, so there's no absolute urgency to do it right away.

2. You'll have to show proof that you sent the item back to the seller before your cc company will let the chargeback stick, so make sure you put some sort of tracking on the item when you send it back.

Lol a chargeback? And you denied their attempt to help you? They should ignore you, It's nice enough they're even offering you a new box. You're just being difficult & people like you are absolute sleaze balls who need mental help for being so irrational and dishonest. You got what you paid for, you weren't cheated, there is no theft, you're simply being absurd. They're not going to go remanufacture new copies of the box, game, and everything inside it because you got a ding or a crease in your outer box.

GET OVER IT, be happy you got one, lots of people didn't, move on to the next one coming out soon that you can complain about.

That's fairly standard for collector's editions you realize right? NISA gets amazing reviews because they have to patience to put up with assholes like you
