That maybe someone else knew of somewhere that was selling it possibly. Even if it be like a bestbuy ebay account, or some site lesser used site that didnt dawn on him to check?

Are some of you seriously acting like this guy is dumb for asking a simple question? Or talking to him like he is your child that needs to be chastised a little bit? Really? HE ASKED A QUESTION, thats it. If you dont have the answer to his question then dont respond to him, if you do then respond to him, anything other than those 2 options then youre the one who becomes dumb.

Hell when pieces came out on blu ray I kept meaning to pre order it but didnt, just before release it sold out most places and I thought that was it, Id have to pay ebay scalper fees. Then I was reading bluray.com forums and someone mentioned about hoping their gohastings pre order came with the puzzle so I went there to see and they had it for pre order. But gohastings didnt come to mind right away since in my mind all I do with them is check once in awhile the used section when I get a code emailed to me for used blu rays.

Just wondering if anyone here has seen an "official" word that we'll be getting the Steelbook in the Overwatch CE here in The States? I've seen an unboxing showing the "T" ESRB rating that had one, but that doesn't necessarily say that we'll all be getting one in ours.  It's the closest thing I have to hope that we will so far though as they've been strangely silent on social media regarding it (at least from what I've seen)

I don't think anything official but do you think they would include a steelbook in CEs to the people who do unboxing videos but not everyone else? I'd bet we are getting a steelbook.

If someone proves we're getting a SB in the Overwatch CE, I'll certainly go and pick it up, since the statue really isn't swaying me to spend the extra money on it.

I know the EU one has a SB, though without anything in the description to show that it has one, it's a pass for me until proven.

What do you consider proof? An unboxing video of a NA CE is proof enough for me. I guess we will all find out Monday though.

Its just odd that they wouldn't have advertised it ANYWHERE in the US if it does in fact contain one. THey're twitter feed is usually super efficient at responding to Q&As as well but they've seemingly ignored all the ones that I or others have posted there... just strange is all.

On the waiting list for the UCE but not buying. Just waiting to check when people start listing the art books separately, and OW too.

 
I never get waitlist emails from the Square Enix store, nor in-stock notices sent from Amazon to my e-mail address.  It's not in the junk folder.  They just never come.  I'm not sure what the problem is.

Unboxing video of a NA CE would do it, as well as confirmation from a CAG, which would be better proof.

We've seen enough EU / UK CEs get SBs when the US CEs don't, so I'm not expecting one until proven that they're in all CEs, US and EU. As you said, no mention of it seems odd if we are getting it as I know it's a selling point for me to buy a CE.

I'm assuming that the Gamespot unboxing is the NA version since they are based in the US. I know one guy had an irish accent, but the other guy didn't. Other than that, all the other unboxing are by limeys.

I saw unboxing videos of both the NA and EU versions of the Overwatch CE, and both versions had the steelbook even though the steelbook isn't listed in the NA version. Wish I could remember the links I saw them at. Either way, we'll know for sure next week, and it doesn't look like this CE is going to sell out in preorders anyway.

Yeah, can't find the video I watched the other day with the US edition unboxing, but the one here from Gamespot (hate their site btw) shows the steelbook included AND the "T" ESRB rating which is North American. It's a PC version.

Saw this yesterday as well. Blizzard doesn't differ their Collector's Editions based on region. Everyone gets the same shit.

 
Well, I already had acknowledged the existence of the "T" rating video in my very first question, but I guess the consensus is that they wouldn't send out some with the steelbook to reviewers only? And that if the "T" rating is in fact on the steelbook itself, then I guess there's no reason why they wouldn't be here...

still, I'm baffled why they didn't announce it or advertise it or show it on any of their ads for the CE in the us? You baffle me Blizzard.

I can't wait for the Overwatch CE to drop. That box it comes in is sexy! Plus the Steelbook! And the nice artbook! The statue I admit is meh (bet you anything a stockholder or some marketing rep at Blizzard insisted they pick the most Call of Duty, Master Chief looking guy to represent the game to appeal to the CoD kids) but everything else is gravy. Hurry up and get heeeeeeeere =]

I really wish Overwatch didn't come with a statue.  An in between edition with just the steelbook, art book, and soundtrack would have been great for me.  Even the standard Blizzard CE would have been more to my liking.

 
Yeah, the one without the statue would have been nice at $89 or so. But without the statue I don't think we would have gotten that big rad box.

If anything, I wish they made 3 or so CE's with different statues to appeal to everyone (The Male Solder, Female Tracer and the ape Winston)

 
Well, they're likely going to sell statues of all the characters on their site seeing as how the Tracer one sold so well.  I'd definitely buy a Hanzo statue, but not sure I'd go beyond that, might end up having to get all of them and with 21+ characters (they said more will be unlockable and free DLC later) I'll run out of $ and space pretty quickly :p

 
Here is what the "Metal Art Plate" from Best Buy looks like. It's license plate sized and stores are getting between 18 and 40 of them.
