It was mentioned on one of the developers/producers/whatevers twitter that there would be an opportunity close to before or after release that you could buy just the watch, so keep an eye out for that too.

So I caved. I wasn't going to get the CE of Overwatch but I have been so damn excited I did. Already had the Xbox One version digitally preordered and so I snagged a PC copy of the CE (since I want it on both anyway). That being said I usually do not care much for Steelbooks. I have a few and they are cool but as a sculptor I display figures now cases and so they all just are in a box with all my old gen titles. 

What is the market for just the SB? Is there even a market/ worth throwing up on eBay? I see three different listings (all the same person though perhaps?) and they are for $30 and that seems a bit ridiculous to me. My Dark Souls 3 SB is shoved somewhere on a shelf and I sold my Witcher 3 SB to a fellow CAG and beyond that I think the last SB I got was...I think God of War Ascension or Uncharted 3? ... neither of which have I played haha

 
Steelbooks vary greatly in "value" or "worth".  I don't really sell any of mine, but I know there are some that fetch >$500+ depending on rarity.  Most of the high value ones are international ones for less popular games though.  (AC Brother stickerbook comes to mind along with the original Mirror Edge I think were both expensive ones).

I imagine this'll be ~$20 or so once everyone gets their CE copies.

I honestly think there will be excess CEs which will result in a $50 or less price in the future. Has happened with most recent released CEs from Blizzard. SC2 Legacy of the Void, D3 Reaper of Souls, WoW Draenor. Then again this is a new IP from Blizzard so only time will tell.

How much does the Borderlands 2 Loot Chest CE Steelbook go for? Also is EBay the place to go to price them or somewhere else?

 
On the off chance someone cares, you can get the Halo 5 LCE WITH a free copy of RS: Siege for $100 from Newegg with the promo code EMCEJGE67.

I'm uninterested in Siege, and I have H5 already, so I'll wait to see if BB drops the clearance price  to $100 or less pre-GCU. I do wonder just how badly they overproduced this junk that the Newegg offer has a maximum of 3 per-order, meaning they probably still have quite a few left.

I had cancelled my pre-order weeks ago for those exact reasons. I just re-ordered it though since GCU + $10 cert basically makes it $90 for me (thanks for the cert info guys). I'll probably try to dump the statue and end up with the game + Steelbook + plate for $60-70. The game and SB are really all I want.

yeah people keep comparing it to a Moba and I don't get it at all. It's not even remotely close to a MOBA. Just because the game requires teamwork and making character choices to help your team do better does not make it part moba....just more of a strategic shooter.

 
Doesn't MOBA stand for multiplayer online battle arena? It most definitely fits that bill.

Edit - I'm serious. I do not play the team rts games so just wondering.

Overwatch CAN be categorized as a MOBA, end of story.

Like someone else said "Multiplayer Online Battle Arena".  It's a mix between a MOBA and FPS

Are you thinking of the right game? An excerpt from Wikipedia on what a MOBA game is:

"The objective is to destroy the opposing team's main structure with the assistance of periodically spawned computer-controlled units that march forward along set paths. Player characters typically have various abilities and advantages that improve over the course of a game and that contribute to a team's overall strategy. A fusion of action games and real-time strategy games..."

That sounds a lot more like the upcoming Paragon or even Battleborn but none of that seems to apply to Overwatch.

I'm not too familiar with the MOBA genre in general so I just call Overwatch a team-based PvP FPS.

It doesnt match the usual characteristics, but you could technically call COD a MOBA too...just by it's acronym. If someone asked what the game was, I would never really say MOBA, but in reality it is multiplayer, it's online, it's full of battles, and it's an arena.

I would just call it an FPS

In my book it is not a MOBA, it is a class-based FPS. You don't consider Team Fortress a MOBA, do you? Because that is definitely more like what Overwatch is. Also, in traditional MOBAs, you can't have multiples of the same character on the same team, but in Overwatch you can.

 
It's an online game with multiple players battling in an arena. It's not like somebody was swallowed by a fish- seems to be literally what that game is. Seems pretty miopic to state that just cause it's not formulaic it's not in a genre. Is it not an action game, an FPS, team death match, team based strategy etc? I'm honestly just playing devils advocate but I definitely see both sides here.

By all literalness, it follows the definition of a MOBA. But I can see why people say it's not.
