[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

Whoa... Those mini camcorders are clearanced at KMart... I didn't even know they sold them... I'd love to have one, I tried (unsuccessfully, I think the firmware version I had wasn't cracked yet) to hack them when they were sold as one time use camcorders at CVS/Rite Aid. Looks like I'm taking a trip this weekend.

And all of the clearance games have been 'sent back'. the cheapest games are now 19.99.
 
Well, I went into my local Kmart today and they were doing a whole reorganization of the games. Ahem, basically, hand scanning every game, and placing them 5 dollar, 10 dollar, 15, full price, etc stacks :D I started chatting with one of the guys, apparently he's new, somewhat knowledgable about games, but he was pretty helpful, let me rummage through the games in the cart while he was scanning them. Did I just befriend an employee, I hope so :D Anyways, even though there werent that many games, I did manage to pick up a few, plus, finally met a good Kmart employee ;)

My finds:
Moto GP 07 360 - $5
MLB 07 PS3 - $5
Untold Legends: DK - $5
 
For those who may not know, if you don't have a printer and want a reasonable number of UPC's checked, they CAN do it at the registers. They can even check other stores within their district by doing a wider area search for the item(s) you're looking for.

I checked 3 of my local Kmarts today for the EZ 101 camera. One had it as 'price required' and wouldn't sell me them, one had it in the system at $99.99 and another one said they didn't have them at all. Locations of each store: Moosic had them listed for $99.99, Wilkes-Barre township had them as out of system and Edwardsville had them as not available. I just figured I'd save my fellow local CAGs running around for nothing on these.

Interesting story about the 'price required' camera store though. They verified(as well as the Moosic store) that ANYTHING that now comes up as 'price required' is to be sent back(though the usual clerk I have PC stuff at my closest store said that 'sent back' usually means DESTROYED)and NOT sold for the 'last price in the system'.

So, I guess that's verification of what a few others have said about out of system stuff being unable to be sold anymore. Shame really, since I grabbed some of my best deals when the games or whatever came up as such.

Here's what I DID grab today though:

PS2 slim Multi-tap(70001 models): $3.71(with tax)
PS1/PS2 memory card adapter for PS3: $1.59(with tax)

I'm debating on keeping one or both at this point. My closest store still had another of the memory card adapters.

Oh and FYI, though I didn't get the UPC # from the package, but the EZ 105 RCA mini camcorders are clearanced down to $60 or around there at Kmart as well. If your local Target is behind on the clearance schedule, you also MAY be able to find a similar small camcorder on clearance. I saw one(don't remember the model or UPC#)on clearance there about 2 weeks to a month ago.
 
It pains me to hear about games being destroyed.... (except for the crappy ones)
but, would it not make sense to give them to someone who wants it?
 
Also, many titles went to Check Shelf. Of course, since he was new, he had to ask the manager in charge about it. Wasnt able to get any of those, but he was pretty nice about it. Lets see, from what I recall, here's what dropped out

Almost every 06/07 Tiger Woods, Fifa, MLB, and Madden game for 360
Gun for the PSP
Battlestation Midway, Surf's Up, History Channel Civil War, and Tony Hawk 8 for the 360.
And some Snoopy game for the PS2.

Ironically enough the Tiger Wood 07 for 360 dropped but the Xbox version is still avaliable XD
 
LOL I was shocked to find 2 06 sports games for the original Xbox still coming up $19.99 at my closest store tonight. As for the destroying stuff, Nathan_Sama, I concur since at least Target donates them to Goodwill when they drop out of the system.

It's a shame that Kmart usually has a compactor or I'd go do some after hours shopping(ala dumpster diving), since I'm sure the lethargic Kmart employees don't take price in fully destroying games and other items like Gamestop employees do.

The employee noted the "check shelf" warning, and simply changed them to the clearance sticker price. Granted, not the best deal, but it saved me the hassle of having a manager possibly take them away.

*And I forgot to mention, I also picked up a RCA EZ105 Cam (with 1 hour of cam time, versus the 30 minutes of cam time on RCA EZ101) for $30.

I bought NBA: Homecourt couple days ago. Came as "check shelf price" the dude said i'll sell it to you for $5 but i was like my friend got it for 10% of the original price he was like oh yeah and punch in $2.99.

I should've had them check the EZ 105 when I was there today, since I know they had it marked for $60, but knowing Kmart it was probably $30.

For $30, I'll take a cam with 1 hour of time on it to mess with.

I'm waiting for it to drop to $15 :D, which is about the last price before being out of system. The original price is around $120.
 
Just saw a future add for a major retail store and it showed the xbox 360 pro with an official price drop of $299. The ad is supposed to drop mid July.

I can understand giving them to goodwill (even though they have the tendency to overcharge), but give them to like an organization or just the first person who brings them to the register ;)
 
This might sound weird, but...my K-Mart doesn't carry games anymore. :whistle2:s

I went in a week or two ago to look for something else, and I swung by the electronics department. All of the cases that had lined the wall were gone, and the only games I saw in the store were the handful of value titles that were opposite the wall where games once stood, where phone cards are now. :cry:
 
I found a PS3 Untold Legends for $5 at the one Kmart that I know of that hasn't been totally ransacked. So now I have 3 PS3 games for the time I eventually get a PS3. It joins my $12 Lair from Target and my $5 Genji from Sears ;).

I also returned the ENORMOUS $9.99 iSymphony headphones I bought several weeks ago. Then when I was buying the games I noticed they had more hidden behind a sliding cabinet (this is a newly remodeled store with the game and accessory cases behind the counter). On a whim I asked how much they were. Score - $4.99! So that probably means the smaller ones (if you can find 'em) are $2.50 now. Of course I would prefer those, but I'll keep the big honkin' ones, too, for $5.

oh man those are the magical three clearance titles i wanna add to my collection, so lair was $12 at target? I guess i missed that one :wall:
 
Went by my K-Mart yesterday and they had like 10 of the EZ101 or 105 cameras for $10 on the sticker. I'm going back today to verify the model # and I'm taking the 2 barcodes with me to scan before I go to the counter.

Are you sure they're not just remodeling or moving the cases around? They did this at my kmart too for the whole sears renovation, I thought they were taking out all the games but they replaced them one day too ;)

If it's the EZ-105 for $10...wonder how much it'd cost to ship one or two of those? ;) I may have to go by my KMart again to see if there was another markdown on the EZ-105. The EZ-105 showed $30 on the store scanner yesterday at noon.

If you're taking barcodes to scan, the EZ-101 may show up as 'price req' on the store scanners and register. You'll have to have someone scan it with a gun.
 
I used to work for KMart up until a month ago, when I got fired(but that's a different story), and I can tell you the KMart that "doesnt carry games anymore" was most likely remodeling.
 
OK. I'm getting mixed signals from managers now, since another one told me today that they'd have to look up the 'price required' games and would price them at $1.50 each for me.

I found out that Marvel Ultimate Alliance(original Xbox) was out of the system, but Sigma Star Saga(GBA) and One Piece Pirates Carnival came up $1.50. MANY of the front line games should be OOS now, so good luck with those.

The manager at yet another Kmart looked up the EZ-101 in their system and district wide for me and said that it was coming up .01 across the board since it was discontinued.

So, if anything, I'll have to hope the EZ-105 sticks around until it drops to $15 or so.

Lair was $14.98 I believe, but I used the $5 off toys coupon so I count half of that towards the game (and the other half to the rest of the stuff I bought). I never found it locally - found it in MD when I was travelling for work. They'd all be long gone by now (and out of the system).

I tried looking for these but I had no idea what I was looking for. Are they in the glass cases usually? They have so much stuff stashed in different places and in piles behind the counter it is so hard to find something expecially when you don't really know what you are looking for ;). It was in looking for these, though, that I found the $4.99 headphones hidden away.
 
I was wondering where the cameras are too, usually that stuff is locked up behind the counter, so there is no way they would be put out on a shelf, but I am wondering how you see if its in stock if its all locked up in the electronics case, as the price scanner does not show the in-stock status of the item. I also know that some of these items could be located in the back as in the distant past I have bought video games from kmart that had to be gotten from the back room since apparently it was too risky to keep it on the floor.

My kmart is a stickler for price changes though, they would probably rather throw out the merchandise than sell it to a customer for 50% and god forbid you ask for a price adjustment that your SUPPOSED to get on an advertised item it takes 20 min for them to look it up in the ad and decide that yeah, your supposed to get it then they get all sour on the face about it like the customer is taking money out of their own pockets for getting a discount that the customer is supposed to get. I haven't tested what their policy is on Check Shelf price items yet though, but I imagine they either wouldn't sell it or it would be sold for the overpriced price on the sticker. It would be nice if we had an official policy in writing from corporate on what kmart stores are supposed to do with CSP items.
 
Stopped by yesturday @ Kmart over in Riverside and picked up Excite Truck For $10.00. Love when Kmart very cheap games. I guess I should go more often I guess.

Anyway, do these prices generally hold up at Sears essentials too (since kmart bought them out).

And the list on the first page, people really have been finding some games for 2-5 dollars.

I think that Sears has a seperate Clearance program, but they sell games just as cheap, just they clearance them out at different times than K-Mart.

and as for your other question, ya, games get down to $2-$5, but:
1. people usualy buy the store out before they hit $2
2. If your area is any thing like my area, Flea Market/Ebay Vendors hit the store all the time, so if it has the clearance price mared on it, it will be gone by the time you see it unless it is a sports title.

No to the first, yes to the second.

$5 games are easy to come by, but you have to be lucky to get something for $2. Its usually out of the system by the time it reaches $2 and that depends on how the cashier handles it and that varies from store to store.

Ex: You find Elite Beat Agent (should be OOS) you might get it for $1.50, be refused the right to purchase it, get it for the last price registered on the system ($4), or charged the price on the sticker.
 
This is a very helpful place! I live in chattanooga, and picked up 10, 07 sports titles for $4ish each. And a used book store buys them all day long for 12+ so thats what got me started looking for cheap games. thanks you guys rock!

And all i need to do is print off the barcode list, go to store make sure they have games, and scan the barcodes?

Those Kmartians get very suspicious if you ask them or see you scanning the codes.

Sweet I live in the I.E as well. Just let me know what games you are looking for, like for the ps3, xbox360, or wii. Ive hit almost every store in the I.E already, accept in riverside.

I went to three K Marts in Pensacola and struck out at all 3. It was a fun adventure, but I really wanted another controller and HD DVD drive.

What part of the I.E.? I grew up in Murrieta (although I'm in NYC now). I could never find anything good in the Murrieta Kmart. I was always been hoping to turn up a Rogue Galaxy but it never happened. So far the NYC kmart has only turned up Contact and a 3-month live subscription.

Oh and in an ON topic note, I had 2 Kmart employees in the last 2 days tell me they're not allowed to sell out of system stuff(one was a manager, the other a long time cashier), while yet another manager told me yesterday that they could if they looked it up via the RMU.

So, I'm guessing the enforcement of the 'don't sell price required stuff' is a YMMV.
