[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

So true, once I went in and they had the list of drops out, I was looking through it and saw a 32" TV in it for $90, I then checked the shelf and it was not there, I asked the girl working if they had any in the back and she said there was one there that she could have her manager pull out for me. the manager then denied that the EV was there after the girl told her she had seen it that day. I'm sure teh mangager went home with a new TV.

The Vizio 37"(currently $560) and 32"(currently $420 ish) are being clearance again this week. Since we were setting the ad the PLC manager didn't get time to activate them. I will get the list today or tomorrow.

We are suppose to get Street Fighter on Tuesday. Man I am getting it as soon as comes off the UPS truck.

That's about the ONLY reason I really wanted to work for the local Kmarts, was the fact that I'd get first crack at the clearance stuff. That's about the only perk of working there that I can see.

Don't get your hopes up. As an old school SF fan, I can tell you that SF4 is HORRIBLE.

Based on my experiences working at Kmart, you won't get a shot at the clearance even if you work there. If you just get hired they will put you on register, you won't even be allowed to use a pricing gun most likely because if it needs to be used while on register a manager will have to be called or the register supervisor will use it for you. If your on register you won't have time to go hunting the clearance games. I am not sure where the keys for electronics are kept however you most likely won't even be able to get into the locked cases unless you have been hired specifically to work electronics, and I doubt they give that job to someone who has just been hired. Probably the only way to get to the clearance is if you are the department manager or manager of the store, because those people will have first shot no matter what. Better make good friends with them if you want any of the good stuff like TV's.

I don't think there is any way to move up the ladder at our Kmart because those people who have department manager jobs and register supervisor jobs are holding onto those jobs like glue especially in this economy. You would have to get extremely, extremely lucky to score a job even in electronics.

You'd be surprised, you don't know what it's like until you actually work at one.

I work in the electronics department of mine, and am one of the three that do it as their primary jobs. There is a max of 2 of us there at the same time, and that's not for very long as it is with 2 of us.

Anyways, when one of us needs to take a break/lunch, they send a cashier down to cover, and if you get on good terms with the people in the department, it's easy to get what you want or to even ask them to hold something behind the counter for you.

I'm sure it's different everywhere, but there are normal people there who will do generous things if you show your own generosity back.

I just saw Blue Dragon for $9.99 at Fred Meyer too - seems to be a fairly universal price now. It is a great game - though I foolishly paid full retail for it (I did at least play it before it dropped so much).

But no one else saw anything strange at Kmart today, eh? I was out running to Blockbusters (pretty much a bust) but I was passing right by a Kmart so for the first time in ages I stopped in.

They had a lot of the $9.99 games out in the open, much to my surprise. And just for kicks I had a few scanned. Here are the results. Note they were all tagged $9.99:

I'd like to finally try Beowulf at $5.99. Actually, most of the $9.99 games were gone from my local store though I think a copy of Beowulf may still be behind the glass.

Freaking *love* how diligent and well-run that K-Mart is. Can't wait until they start clearancing out Bleach: Dark Souls and Metal Slug 7 for the DS. Yeah, yeah...it'll be a while, but still: they'll have it correctly marked on the *day* it drops for them.

Other than that, it looks like the hoarding locusts swept through my store AGAIN and cleaned out the in' cases, not that I care though since I have a shitload of games I haven't completed as of yet anyway.
