[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

Just got back from the Kmart in Braintree Mass. No luck finding the TV there.

The store was a ghost town when I was there, so I went over to the service desk and asked the lady there if she would call a few other Kmart’s in the area to see if they had any in stock. She was nice enough to agree and she called the Brockton, Somerville & Attleboro Kmart’s. Same story at those stores.

So if you’re thinking of going to any of those four stores looking for the TV, don’t bother.

Some of us only NEED a small HDTV and don't really give a shit if it looks like the biggest and best brand name model out there. Truth be told though, some of these 'off brands' actually contain name brand parts in them(like the Akai brand from Kmart contains Samsung parts)

For the small amount of TV I watch on a weekly basis(I play games more on my current tv), I don't give a shit if I can see all of the nostril hairs flaring on the roid monsters on WWE/TNA whenever I watch that mindless garbage(no offense to anyone who still likes the man soap operas they truly are).

I had a 27" tv in my room for all of A WEEK when my old Sharp 20" SDtv finally started going, I was BLINDED by how bright the f'n thing was(even on the lowest settings).

So, I switched back to a 20" Panasonic and I haven't looked back. All I really need is A TV to play my games on or watch tv, but if I can get ANY kind of HDtv for UNDER $100 that'll fit in my room and won't make me blind with its sheer size/brightness, I'm there.

I know that the local Kmarts probably have ZERO of these in stock or the closest one with one in stock is 30-40 miles away, which is just my luck as of late, but I'll still TRY like hell.

If I find one and buy it to use, I'll let others here know how it works though. For under $100, how can you go wrong?

You're missing the point, IAT. 27" for HD.. is retarded. Regardless of situation. You couldn't tell the difference between a 27" SD and a 27" HD. You don't see a huge difference until about 33" or so. And why pay for it? Yoou can get a free SDTV just about anywhere.. And it's not like anyone besides me has actually found it, making the point in itself moot. :D

It has S-Video though, which is good enough for me. It's what I use now on my 19 inch Sylvania.

Also, came up short in my K-Mart. There was one on display where the Guitar Hero World Tour display was set up, but oh well. I'll pass considering it looked pretty dinged up.

This is true, since the last time there was an INSANE deal that I wanted to get in on, the closest fuckin' store with the item in stock at the cheapo price was in north central NJ(about a 2 hour or so drive from here).

In case you were wondering, it was a pc tower with 3-4 gb's of ram, some insanely good(at the time) video card and specs that would make most normal shmoes drool(I'm sure techies would've considered it a POS).

When I play on my one buddies' families' offbrand HDtv, I see a difference, but it's not so much that I really even want it for the HD capabilities. If anything, I'd put the HDtv in my room for movie and tv watching and move my PS3 downstairs with my 'old' tv to be closer to my router so I could go wired with my connection.

Uh, bullshit. the difference between SD and HD is quite apparent on even a 15" set. And to sit and judge an old CRT vs. new LCD over the web is ridiculous. I could see if the guy was like "my old sony wega tube" but that wasn't how it went. a 720p HDTV is going to look better than a 480i set more often than not, regardless of manufacturer. As someone else started to say, I'm sure that KMart doesn't have an HD repeater and is running most of them off an old split coax feed, so of course it looks like shit.

Also, Try finding and SD set with HDMI...
 
I went to the service desk, gave her the UPC code for the TV to see if it is in stock and she said the computer said "unable to determine."
I went back to the Electronics and didn't see it so I guess I will try another one on Monday.

I did pick up an Original copy of Crimson Skies for Xbox and Xbox live arcade Unplugged for Xbox 360 for $5.99 each. Do you think the free month code inside is still valid? Also when the Cashier scanned the arcade game it made a beep noise and he manualy entered the price. Does that mean it should of been cheaper because it is out of the system?

I had the one clerk at customer service check for the TV at all the local Kmarts and she reported that NONE were in stock ANYWHERE around here. I can't say I'm surprised though.

Oh and Lude, I checked and didn't see the copy of Stuntman Ignition that you said was left at our local Kmart. I guess you picked it up or it was in one of the back rows of games in the case, huh?

Update for eastern MA CAGers: Picked up one copy of the following at the Somerville K-Mart:
Juiced 2 (PS3)
Gundam Crossfire (PS3)
Jumper (X360)
Rayman Raving Rabbids (X360)
Bee Movie Game (X360)
Godfather (X360)
Spider Man FOF (X360)

All for $5.99, and Tetris Evo (X360) for $9.99. Many were the last copy, but there were several copies of Beowulf and Tetris still in stock, as well as Cars DS for $5.99 in the cardboard display for the grabbin'. There's also a lot of assorted games for all platforms in the cases. I gave them a once over but stock is good enough that I might've missed some goodies, so if you want to go prospecting, you might find something else.

In addition to that, I hit the Saugus K-mart by the Square One mall. Got Katamari (X360) for $9.99 and Super Robot Wars OG (GBA) for $5.99. Confirmed with the clerk that they had no other current clearance titles after checking the cases, they're pretty picked clean. Very friendly clerk there!

Thing is, I played the original on the PS2 and I got so very frustrated by it that if the sequel were anything like the original I know I'd be making that $6 disc into a flying saucer before long. I hated the endless repetition of the original that occured if you missed a mark on a stunt by a hair's width.

The really sucky part is that I think I paid full price for the original back in the day, which was WAYYY before I found CAG.

What a mistake that was. That game, coupled with the original State Of Emergency made me rethink pre-ordering games ever again. Now, I wait for professional reviews, as well as the opinions of gamers who have played it. If I'm still having doubts, I just wait till it's clearanced to buy it.

I never played the original. And I figure, for $5-ish or less, I can afford to scoop up and sample mediocre games, which is why I got Jumper and Beowulf. I do want to try Ignition because I like the concept-- and I also like the implementation of the Xbox headset (if you wear it, the director's instructions come over the headset, but not the TV audio). Haven't found that one yet, though.

That's how the first Manhunt was on PS2 as well. If you had a headset, you heard the director's taunts/instructions over it versus the tv's speakers.

But believe me there are definitely certain game series that I refuse to give a second chance to, even for $6 on clearance, Stuntman is definitely one of them.

About the only game I really want right now is The Incredible Hulk for PS3, which is a graphically toned down version of Ultimate Destruction from last gen. Unfortunately, I got bored with the game after I beat it the one time I did, since you could pound on buildings all day and most of them would just take a bit of damage and then go back to normal.

I was expecting to be able to pull of Mercenaries style rampages with the Hulk. That was the BIGGEST letdown for me. I wanted to cause Ultimate Destruction to the game world, but try as he might the Hulk was impotent against 90-95% of the buildings.

Went out to find that TV, didn't see a display for it so I asked a the electronics employee are these the only tvs you carry and walked out disappointed at both stores. :/

If there was only a item finder for the whole state, I might take a trip just to get it at this price,

Of course, you know yourself and your tastes better than anyone else. And I never played the first Stuntman. But I did buy Stuntman: Ignition for the 360 and got some enjoyment out of it. Now, I'm not a "completist" type, so I didnt try for all 5 stars on every scene. Rather, I just played enough to unlock the 'movie trailer' rewards.

The "odd jobs" part was more difficult. Even though the scenes are much shorter, you only get one strike. There was one scene where you're on ice so the controls were quite sloppy. It took me so many tries to get that right. But other than that, I enjoyed the game.

Then again, I bought it for Target for $7.48 + tax (mistagged) and traded it in to GS for ~12 (a trade 2 get +$10 deal) so maybe that colors my opinion some. If I didnt have such a huge backlog, I could see myself playing through it again.

Ugh...you must have hit Saugus right before I did lol. I found one copy of Project Sylpheed (X360) and that was it. I was going to check Somerville soon, but I think I'll pass on that.

Oh good, another Massachusetts CAG. Yeah, pickings were slim in Saugus. Good find on Sylpheed, at least-- I haven't stumbled across it except at Sears, and it's still ringing up as $25 there.

I'll keep the thread updated on the Somerville store. Like I said, they have quite a bit of stock, so when the next round of price drops hit there are bound to be some more deals.
 
Stuntman Ignition is definately worth the $5 pricetag if you can find it. I had no idea about the headset addition though, so I may have to play it again for a bit. The game is more fun with friends though, as failing missions is quite easy for me, so at least failing miserably only happens every few minutes, as opposed to over and over one after another.

Yep,

I decided to pull the trigger since they only had 2 left and the other one's package is pretty banged up. My luck recently is that I have been for the last price drop only to have the item sold out by the time I get there.

Its ok but not that great. It got really boring fast. For 20.00 though it's not too bad if you have someone to play it with but that person needs there own set of cards.

If it still got a good trade value, that probably would've changed my opinion as well, but since I wait until games have been out a few years to buy them on clearance/sale that negates the chances of that pretty much.

That was the only thing I really hated about the game though, was the volume of retries you had to do to get things just right.

Now, if they made a new Driver game and made it more like the original two, that would be a game I could possibly see myself buying as an impulse buy. I loved how they made it so you could get out and carjack people in the second one, which was out almost a full year before the Playstation 2 had the first 3-D GTA in GTA III.
 
Very likely YMMV, but I picked up NCAA '08 for the PS3 for $5 this morning. I also saw NFL Tour for the PS3 for $5, but a quick Metacritic check showed it rated very poorly.
 
The Kmart off Frederica in Owensboro, Ky has moved all of their GBA titles out of the case since most are the recent drop titles. There isn't much left, mostly disney and cartoon network games as well as two copies of Mega Man Battle Network 6 for $15. I picked up the last copy of Super Robot Taisen for $5.99 kind of by surprise since it has always been $19.99 before and I didn't think it would be affected by the drop.

It's on the original drop list to $9.99 then others reported it dropped to $5.99. Four Swords may be $5.99 also.
 
went to kmart in berwick pa, they didn't have any of the 26' tvs or any clearance game but they did have about 6 wiis if anyone is having trouble finding one

Gah! Someone finding my secret K-Mart Gold Mine. I've picked up 30+ titles at that location in the past few months.
 
Went to the Kmart Ogden/3rd in Los Angeles CA.They had one copy of Strangle Hold for PS3 $5.Did not pick it up because the demo gave me motion sickness.Go get it if you want it.

my Kmart is stocked up with games, older titles too, for the ps3, But they don't have anything marked down. Where do I print the bar code thing to scan games?
 
Just got back from the Salem, NH Kmart and picked up the last bundle package of Eye of Judgement for $20.00

Also for PS3 they had:

Haze marked 19.98
fracture 19.98
juiced 2 for like 9.98
one copy of orange box for I think 19.98
Those are were still there as of one hour ago.

That's how my closest Kmart stores were, until the edict came down from corporate to properly sticker the games with the current clearance price. Some of these stores have also taken to putting up huge yellow clearance signs mentioning the specific things that're on clearance in electronics.

So, while I feel your pain, just give it a couple of months, since the employees almost always go back to being lazy and not restickering the stuff.

You should NEVER let people know that a store is your 'goldmine' or it's location. That's why, if you notice, I always say 'my closest Kmart stores' or 'my local Kmart'.

Giving out the location of what stores you hit just helps the lurkers to know which ones are good and which ones are bad.

Personally, the ONLY time I've given out a store location was once I had cherry picked everything I wanted and there was nothing good left between my friends and I picking stuff up.

Type up the UPC under Look UP UPC and hit enter, it'll make a series of two barcodes for you. The top one is a normal UPC barcode, the other one is the newer type(forget what it's called).

Did your store have them out in electronics or did you have to ask the clerk to check for it in the back? I stopped by a couple of stores near me and they didn't even have the 26" model on display so I did not bother asking if they had it in the back.



I can confirm the following scanned at the same prices at 3 different VA stores near me though:

$9.99 - X360 Blue Dragon

$5.00 - X360 Golden Compass

I picked up a copy of the Stranglehold and Dragon Blade for myself. And once again thanks to those for contributing to the thread.

They ended up having 1 in back, and had one on the shelf. The display was marked $558 on the price tag, and scanned yesterday (Friday, 20th) for $186, and today for $62.
