[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

That seems to happen a lot at KMart and Sears, where I will scan a UPC for a game supposedly on clearance and it scans full price.

Most recent example was the Singstar Bundle for PS3 at Sears. Scanned for $59.99 when I expected it to be $1.97.

Yeah no luck for me neither, I hit up damn near all the KMarts around me looking for the TV, no luck. I had the guy in electronics check the inventory by looking up the upc code from his register, I saw him go thru the menu and for that TV it kept giving an 'unable to determine' message. None of the stores near me in VA had them on display neither.

Detroit area's dry as well. You can look the item up, but only 4 stores in the area have *one* of them (none with multiples), and I've been to two of them, and neither actually have it. It's not a big deal, really...I actually ran into some very good KM employees as a result of looking for this, but the TVs just aren't around to be found.

My Kmart also had a copy of Katamari Damacy for the PS2 however the shrinkwrap was torn and I am almost certain that the game was stolen, as were many of the other front lane games (whats left of them that is). Mind you kmart employees don't care and they don't check the game for the disk nor do they remove the open package from the rack so that someone doesn't get screwed. Those front lane games never sell anyways for some reason. The game had no price on it and no white sticker over the barcode.

It was reduced to $25 and then $20. There is no way your K-mart is 2 months behind so it should at least be $25.

Not a lot of clearance goodness but still a much better or larger selection of games at this store, I was down that way around late October/early November last year and was very happy to find a copy of Crush for $5 since my store was out of stock before it even hit $10 (hell they might have even sent the copies from my store to this one lol), I also found a few games that were out of system that they offered to sell for $5 a pop which I passed on, I was gonna grab one of each just for the hell of it (didn't need any of them really) since they were games like Viewtiful Joe that would have been $1-2 if they gave them to me for what they last were at 90% off.

IATCG - you always mention how my local KMart is in the ghetto but it isn't lol I wouldn't be scared to walk around that area at night, you'd have to head West a bit into the downtown area before the area starts to get bad.

Actually, I was talking about the one on Third St. in Williamsport, which I was to maybe once or twice(and out to Hoss' steakhouse there while there).

I live just outside of Williamsport in a nearby suburb. HydroX was thinking of the same KMart that your mentioning since it's the only one near me with his local store being the next closest to me (being about a 50 minute drive from my house).

I would, if the regional boards were able to be viewed, but the last time I tried I could only get to the heading for my region and then I couldn't see the individual threads for it.

So I don't know what's going on with Beautiful Katamari but I got one on my trip in MD on Tuesday and it rang up $19.99. Then I got back home and at my "good" Kmart, which I finally just got around to visiting since the last drops, it is $9.99. I guess I'll return the $19.99 copy. They also had some of the DS and PSP stuff and it all rang up $5.99 as expected! Nice!

Yeah, I wish I could pick this up for the camera alone. If this is able to be used as a webcam I could really use a new webcam for cheap, then I would sell off the cards. I am still using a sony eyetoy as a webcam, I am surprised its still working after being attached to my computer for more than 3 years!

Apparently Kmart is doing another round of store closings, and two of my best locations for cheap games are among them. For the locals, the stores to be closed are the St. Pete, FL locations on the south side and at 30th Ave. N.

I have a feeling my local store could be on the list, during the week there are never more than 20 - 25 cars in the lot and I usually go to check for deals after work, around 8:30 or so and many times there are less than 10 customers in the store.

I would not be shocked if the store near me ends up on the list as well. It's the last remaining shop in this sort of mini strip mall and it's right across the street from Sears.

Sears, Kmart, and CC are also all stores that always seem to have deserted cash registers. it always takes an extra 10 minutes to check out at these places.

The only game that was priced correctly was Lost Planet. Jam Sessions and Geometry wars were priced at 14.99 each and Darkness at 9.99. Took them over to the scanner and blamo 5.99 each.

Also, wish I had checked the thread earlier, I would've looked for an eye of judgement. Ah well.

Many people on CAG act like 5-10 is an eternity to wait for someone to open the case and get out a game so they can have it price checked and maybe buy it. If you're that short on time, then what the are you doing on CAG? Seriously, I only go deal hunting when I know I have ample time to wait around for people to help me at each store.

Actually, Toys R'Us already did a round of store closings a while back, KB Toys is gone completely(or should be by now since they began liquidating a while back), Circuit City is in it's final days already and Kmart/Sears had one massive round of closings already.

Although, on a positive note, I DID see a clearance section in the toy section at Wal*Mart last night and it wasn't the typical massive clearance prices we all laugh about, where they take off two in' cents and call it a clearance price.

Some of the items were actually HALVED in price, so maybe Wally World is finally paying attention and learning to understand that clearance doesn't mean taking less than 5% off the normal MSRP.
