[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

Does anyone here have experience with the Sylvania LCDs that are on clearance? I'm looking at the LC370SS8 ($280) or LD320SS8 ($175) for my spare bedroom, but the few customer reviews I can find on the internet are mixed on the topic of reliability. I'm worried that I might end up with a very large paperweight after a year or so.

You can't go wrong for the prices there. MSRP would be different, but just go ahead if you come across them, unless it's a store display.

Don't forget 10% off display models.

Funny, I wasn't offered this discount on one of the Memorex 26" LCD/DVD models. It was clearly open-box. I took it home to find out that the display was SMASHED due to improper repacking. :( Service desk clerk burst out laughing when I showed her. It was pretty funny, and they refunded me immediately.

There's another one there, but it's also open-box. I didn't get it, didn't want to go through the trouble for another broken TV.

Sometimes you need to call an salaried manager. The actual display models are always 10% off.

Clearance-related, I picked up :360: Star Ocean last weekend for $19.9x, probably the day before it dropped to $14.9x. I was thinking of returning it anyway, as I have a huge backlog and don't think I would get to it anytime soon.

Food has been gone in our Kmart for years now, but they did give the workers a free lunch one time when I worked there so I did eat it once, though I think I only ended up getting the pizza sticks. It wasn't any worse than your standard fast food, pretty much everything was frozen and then warmed up. This was a long time ago, so its probably worse now if there are any Kmart's left that still serve food. I hate fast food in general so its all the same to me.

Hmm.. The Kmart in Fort Collins doesn't really have too much in terms of good stuff. Picked up Star Ocean, considered getting either Madworld or Bourne Conspiracy for friends. They had three of the WRT45G2's but I think they might be the new cisco ones.

Is it the one "By Cisco" ? I saw two at my K-Mart but they were marked at 59.99, I didn't wanna take it out of the Electronics department to scan it because it had one of those huge round alarm things on it. Should have taken a print out of the UPC with me :p
 
EDIT: Nevermind, found the latest list about 5 pages back after reading a LOT of random chatter.

My K-Mart finally caught up to the latest prices, but they also had GT5 Prologue marked at $14.97.

You should try googling the problem. Mine used to kick me off but I changed the channel from the default. There are other tweaks you can do too.

"isn't compatible with my laptop" is not the case. There's some sort of fix for it, OR the router is fried. Shoot me a PM with whatever info you can (router model/brand, do you have any other connections wired or wireless, are there multiple wireless networks around, etc) and I'll try to help.
 
Thanks for all the information. I would love to pick up a set of Rock Band Drums for a penny, or even 10 bucks because I recently picked up rock band the game. If I could find some cheap things, I'll keep posted!
 
Meh - updated the OP finally ;).

A while ago I had glanced at the last list and it didn't seem like much had changed but I guess there are a few goodies there. I'd like to find Star Ocean myself but it seemed they all got bought up at $19.97 which was too much for me. $15 ain't much better but I'd probably grab one if I saw it.

The only way I've gotten anything for a penny is to get like milk and groceries and the item in question as well, I remember reading stories on here (not nec. this thread) of people trying to get a single game and nothing else for a total of a penny and getting pissed when the cashier said no dice.

Just like with penny guides, the more you buy the less obvious it is that you're getting something for a cent. :cool:
 
I'm fine with that, if they don't honor the price then oh well. If I don't get what I want, there's always next time, no need to be upset. :) I'll be sure to pick up some extra "fillers". Thanks for mentioning that.
 
The items on the list at a penny don't scan for a penny anymore (they haven't for a while). They come up as price required and the register asks the cashier to enter a price.
 
So it all comes down to how the cashier inputs the values? That would mean, full retail price? I'm assuming its based on who the cashier is.
 
Yes it depends on the cashier, some will enter the sticker price. Some will enter a made up price. Other times they will refuse to sell it (this happens to me a lot). Other times a manager will be called. One time a manager said I could have all out of system games for $3, another time a different manager said I could have the games for 90% off the sticker price.

What you can do is tell them to use the handheld LCD pricing gun to look up the last selling price but they are not always willing to do that. For the Rockband Drums, the pricing gun should show a price of $3.
 
Does Kmart use the same "price ending in 97 cents" clearance pricing system that Sears does? Just wondering because at my local Kmart some of the games were marked with prices ending in 97 cents.

Have you tried opening ports on the router? I used to have that issue of being randomly kicked from the Playstation Network and from online games when I had a Linksys WRT54G(which is supposedly the toughest one to make work with the PS3)and once I opened ports all was well 80-90% of the time.

You know, you could've picked up the whole Rock Band set(Special Edition version) at Sears for $14.97, right? Check your local Sears, as they may have one in stock still. Unfortunately, someone nabbed the three at two of my local Sears stores, so if I actually wanted it I'm now SOL.

That 'buying other shit to mask a penny guide purchase' routine doesn't work around here. They'll usually try and mark up the guides to MSRP no matter what I buy with them, so I just take up the guides by themselves and if they deny them then they were going to do it if I bought just them or another item.

It seems to depends on the item, sometimes Kmart uses like, 8.00, or just reduces it to something like 1.99. Sometimes I will find clothing in an .00 and other times it will just be marked down with a regular .99 ending. Same with toys. Its definitely not a .97 ending across all departments.

Electronics seems to be .97 for the games lately, but some of the other clearance items I have gotten have been in an .00 ending, like the headphones I got a few months back were 2.00.

Not everyone can check it. It can be disabled in certain workers RMU's.

I found 2 stores within 30miles of me that has 2 each of $120 Memorex TV/DVD. I thought I had a jackpot. Drove to each Kmart, electronics sales guy couldn't find the TV. Called it a day... But I did find some cheap ps3 games from kaydigi's list...
And I got a brand new in a box Sony BDP-S350 for $75.
 
Unfortunately, their stock locator can be very off. Either that or the employee told you they 'couldn't find it' but are actually saving it for themselves when it drops to 90% off.

Always treat two as zero so you don't get disappointed. One is always going to be a display model. It could be sitting in the office, unboxed in the the tv cage (stockroom).

Another instance; it may be sitting in loss preventions office. The loss prevention manger constantly takes open box tv's to his office so he can have a setup like the one in Swordfish. Idiot.
