[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them (and they don't have restickered UPCs - see point 3 below) they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: http://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way). What we are currently missing is a good list of accessories. I have added a few that I know about. We need more info on these (and there must be more to uncover).

In general, I'm sticking with ShiningSlade's method of listing games. However, there are a few changes. Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

Ugh. My Kmart decided it'd be best to move EVERYTHING. Some stuff was sitting on tables, some were still behind the cases. I'm pretty sure some of the stuff I wanted was long gone.

hopeunknown, you got ToL for $14? That's odd, as I ended up paying $20 for mine. :( YMMV perhaps?

I ended up getting that and an awesome starter kit for my micro, which came with headphones, car charger, three screen cleaning clothes, a zipper case, rubbery skin, and GBA game holder. Costed $4.

Wish I could find Final Fantasy IV, Minish Cap and both clearanced Donkey Kong Countries. :(

Receipt simply just says "TOYS AND HOB" so I'm assuming the idiot cashier screwed up.
 
Guess it was cause I took my stuff over to a cashier who didn't work in the electronics department (and didn't know the code for said department) and just went with the price that was on the tag. I don't see any mention of clearances on my receipt at all.

Just snagged an Xbox Live 12 Month Gold kit at the Kmart on East Sahara in Vegas for $8.40. Can't beat that for a year of Live, Bankshot Billiards, 200 points, and a new headset. Managed to get the last one, too.
 
Just a reminder that anyone getting Xbox Live kits may want to do so NOW. The ones that are clearanced that have Bankshot Billiards expire at the end of THIS month.

Ah what the hell, I doubt any of you will run across this, but I'll throw this out there so you guys can look out for it admist the clearance runs.

Take a look at this thread that originally tipped me off (FYI, I work at K-Mart electronics). Naruto is normally $40 and Tenchu is $60. Anyone wanna do the math on those. ...Gee, kinda wierd that they're both 30% off, no?

Aside from a few clearance items that were missed, all of the registers have been ringing up the 30% off clearance stuff without a problem.

BUT...

The signing system decided that every freaking item could be 30% off too. That's why those signs in the linked thread are peculiar: some employee printed off signs for some new games, hit 'Y' for a pending event (meaning that they are printing a sign for a future sale, hence why these signs were out before the dates on them), and moved on without noticing a thing.

This means that any employee can print out a legitimate sign for pretty much anything for 30% off the normal price. I just about crapped my pants when I scanned a PS3 and my scanner asked if I wanted to print out a sign for it to "be on sale" for $420, 30% off of its normal $600 price tag.

This means that because it's not in the register system, no K-Mart is gonna honor this for all of their items. However, should you run across these signs that some moronic employees printed out without paying attention, the possiblity for deals could prove to be interesting.

SHORT VERSION:

Watch out for signs like those during your store runs.
 
I went today to hit up all the K-Mart/Sears stores to look for Xbox Controller-S. This is what I ended up with and what I saw.

Found a black Xbox Controller-S on a clearance table.
Snatched it up. Around ~$11.

Luckily there was a price scanner right next to the table, helped a lot.
Also saw on the same table:

Went to a second kmart. This is the one in North Hollywood? I dunno the valley that well.

Saw the worker girl at the register checking the game prices herself. Also, all the clearance games were on the shelf, so you can look and feel... OHoHHohoh~~~ Also, they had a lot, like 3-4 copies of each.

She was very nice and let me bring up the games and priced checked them for me. This is what I saw:

Another had a up to 75% off sign outside. Didn't find too many interesting things. But did see an offical Sony PS3 reader for PS2 memory cards $14.99. Does the 60GB have a reader for PS2 mem cards? No right?

That's about all my haul today. Will check out more K-Marts tomorrow. Wanna get a Kasumi Blue Xbox controller. Also want to try to see if I can find DOA4 and DOA X2 for under $15.
 
It's funny, I was right next to 2 Kmarts on my Gamecrazy run this evening and didn't feel it was worth the effort to stop in :lol:. I know all the really cheap stuff is gone (unless they dragged more out of the back). Plus I swear someone in this thread said the 30% off deal wasn't till the 23rd - WTF?? I probably would have gone in if I knew it was active now, but chances are there wasn't anything worthwhile anyway.
 
Valkyrie Profile 2? Final Fantasy X-2? I think we have some games that aren't in the OP listing.

I did spot a few PSOne plugs on clearance, as well as a ton of faceplates for the 360, a small chunk of copies of Psychonauts for the PS2, Xbox 360 DVD remotes, some wireless PS3 controllers, GBA and GBA SP zipper pouches and what not. Hell, they had about three copies of Castlevania Double Pack as well. Wish I held out and didn't buy my copy from GameStop during their clearance sale. :(

Guess I'm gonna print out a list of games I'm after (and know that they have) and check with the scanning machines to see if any price changes have occured that we're not aware of.
 
I just remembered when I went today to pick up Tomb Raider 360, I stopped by the accessories rack. Well, the shelves for the 360 section were just cleaned out. They only items left were a black wireless controller, a few mem cards, and ONE 1600 pts card. The sony and nintendo section were full, they even had some new items like some ps3 cable and wii sensor bars that werent in stock before. Im pretty sure they couldnt have sold about a dozen controllers, at least 3 20gb HDs, a few wired and wireless headsets and a 3 month live kit within the 2 days (My last visit). Possibly something might happen in the future, or did they just remove them because they werent selling and to be sent back?

Also, Gunstar Heroes for GBA, worth the $7?

Somehow I missed this... I wonder about these though - the clearance prices are not usually $$xx.99 type things - they are whole dollar amounts. Are these just normal price drops at Kmart? Or is this some wierd local 50% off thing not related to the clearance?

Now I wish I had stopped in today - of course, I wouldn't have known about these anyway and would have missed them...

If that store was anything like the one I work at, they just did a massive reset to the video game accessories counter. Tons of stuff that was on the old layout isn't there anymore, and there's a bunch of new stuff, especially PS3 & Wii stuff. The old stuff shouldn't get sent back, but they will have to move it somewhere else. If the store was lazy or low on space, it's probably all just sitting in a cart in the electronics stock room. Otherwise, I'd say look around the department, or ask someone what happened to the stuff.

Ask yourself 2 questions:
1. Are you a fan or the original game, or a Contra fan? If yes, this game is worth it's original MSRP of $29.99.
2. Do you like 2-D, 16-bit-style action games in general? The kind Konami is famous for, with perfect control, a great variety of fun weapons and attacks, over-the-top special effects, and spectacular boss battles? If yes, why haven't you bought it already?

Don't expect a modern action/adventure game, where you collect a lot of items and upgrades, and has a lot of replay value. This is straight-up old-school shooter awesomeness. In my mind, it easily bests the the old genre kings (Gunstar 1 and Contra III) thanks to a wild variety of level designs and better control (this genre has always needed the movement lock/strafing options this game finally provides). Only the lack of 2-player play keeps it from perfection, but at $7, this should be a no-brainer.
 
My K-Mart is old as dirt and last time I was there the cashier that is always there (Super cool about letting me check prices, he even aknowledges most games will ring up cheaper) said they were about to do a total overhaul of the electronics section. Kinda got me scared, because I can ALWAYS go there and get a $2 game of some kind, even if it is a sports title.

They have had, for a long time now, a copy of the Mario Party 4+Wavebird combo, in a little bit torn package, but it has never rung up for the old clearance price, rather it would always ring up for $69.99, so I never bought it. I scanned the barcode today, though, and sure enough, it's 30% off: $48.99. Compared to the old clearance price that's not such a great deal, but given that that old deal isn't available any more, and that this combo is pretty impossible to find now, I think I'm going to go back and buy it later today.

Thats a shame, I bought 2 of them some months ago for $7 a peice. The only thing at my K-Mart that never matched the clearance price was donkey kong jungle beat w/ bongos. It was always $39.99.

I wish I'd managed to get one of those deals! Even at $48.99 it's a pretty good deal, given that Mario Party 4 is oft considered the best Mario Party (from what I've read), I have none of them, and it goes for $35 and up new on ebay, and the wavebird goes for over $35 new on ebay. The combo is $51.44 with tax here, so if I figure $36.74 for the Wavebird 34.99+5% tax), then I'm getting a new copy of Mario Party 4 for $12.25.

Then again, maybe I should just let it sit and see if the price ever goes way down again. Hmm. What to do. What to do....
 
Doesn't a few members here work at K-Mart, I thought new clearance titles would have been posted when they became available.

Next time I go I am gonna see if the generic titles for $9.99 & $14.99 are included in this sale.

Picked up a Gamecube Bundle with Mario Party 7, microphone, and extra controller for $35 yesterday. Clearance tag said $70 (marked down from $99.99) but rang up 50% off.

The 50% might be just that particular store. Because that's the only store which had THAT many games outside, not locked behind the glass cabinet. They must of had like 2-3 sections of shelves of games. I didn't check game prices at other stores, because it's usually a pain to call the clerk over to open it up. Also, I was just looking for the Xbox controller.

Another title I saw were Guitar Hero I and II (software only), but I didn't check prices on it because I'm horrible at it.

mikkymuffins, that Gamecube bundle seems like an awesome deal. I will try to see if I can find one.
 
Gahhh I have to get out to a Kmart today , went to an out of the way one because I was running around and all I found was a copy of Armored Core: last Raven for a little over $7.00.. Got to hit my local one up and see if they have anything left... Now my store has a bunch of bins set up with some of those re-tagged games as well as other ones with set prices..

do those re-tagged ones get discounted or is it only with games with the yellow clearance stickers on them?

If not I saw that one had quite a few copies of Shadow Of Colossus Non GH versions but it had a white price tag $19.99 on it?

Don't know if anything I will go and see.. never hurts to ask the electronics people, thats what they are getting paid for anyways..

They're not, it's only on clearance items. You can usually tell a clearance item by the price ending in .00

Resident Evil Outbreak 1 for $10.50. the funny thing about RE: Outbreak is that there were 2 covers. outside the case there was the normal RE:Outbreak cover and from what it looks like a disc behind it, then the security strip on top says "RE: Outbreak FRENCH". i almost bought it.
 
I just went into my local St Joseph MO K-Mart today and found a copy of Shaman King for the PS2 on clearance for 14 cents. With the 30 percent off, the price dropped to 9 cents and with tax it was a whole whopping 10 cents. Not too many other great deals in video games though. . .:cool:
 
I went to my closest K-Mart and they had tons of games just strewn around everywhere. Not to mention some clearance accessories sitting out and some with the rest of the accessories. Still didn't see any games I wanted though there were a bunch of Final Fantasy I & IIs that I don't remember seeing before.
 
I just got back from Kmart here in NW Arkansas and picked up a few things.

Most of these have been games that have been sitting there a while but were just a little too much for me to warrant buying. With this 30% off deal, I finally bit the bullet on 'em. They also had a few DS games for 14, but none I was willing to pay that much for. It was the Rainbow Island and Bubble Bobble Revolution ganes and Megaman ZX.
 
this is probably a BIG, HUGE YMMV. i forgot to mention that the Blue Gamecube core system is $50 on clearance. i cant remember which store i went (might have been the Closter, NJ one) to that had it at that price. i just happened to glanced at it. the Black gamecube wasnt marked at all, and was behind the case with the blue marked gamecube. so definately YMMV, dont get too excited.

anyways, i went to the Wayne, NJ kmart didnt have anything but Tales of Legendia for $14.99. Valkyrie Profile 2 is $29.99. i was gonna go to the Lodi, NJ kmart but i figured it might be the same so i didnt bother.

Bubble Bobble Revolution DS is $10 at a KMart here (others have also seen it at this price). Also, if you get BBR, you should send it in to the manufacturer (because the game is glitchy) and they send you a fixed copy along with a free copy of Rainbow Island for your troubles.

Thanks for the heads up about the extra 30% off. I picked up Tomb Raider Legend and Odama yesterday.

I almost bought one of the old Xbox Live kits with PGR2, but I wasn't sure if the 12 month card would still work, so I passed.

Damn! I would kill to have Minish Cap. It seems to be the only damned Zelda title (NOT COUNTING THE CD-I ONES) that vanished as soon as it came out. And I sure as hell am not willing to pay for a used one at GS/EB for $24.99 or pay for $30+ cart only eBay prices. :(
 
Thanks for the coupon S_G. I did not really find anything since I could not find a guy to open the case for me. I waited for 20 minutes! I did pick up a silver xbox 360 face plate for $4.00. I'm going to go to another K-Mart later today.
