[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them (and they don't have restickered UPCs - see point 3 below) they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: http://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way). What we are currently missing is a good list of accessories. I have added a few that I know about. We need more info on these (and there must be more to uncover).

In general, I'm sticking with ShiningSlade's method of listing games. However, there are a few changes. Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

True, even my Kmarts and Sears have sold their copies. It will only get worse trying to find this game new.

I'm a little disappointed in this. I actually wanted to try this game, but there was no way in hell that I was going to pay $50 for it. I can't be mad at people for wanting to make a profit on the game while the demand was (is) so high, but still.

That's a shame, it is such a good game. One of the best on PS2 and it's totally worth the $50 price tag.

Stopped by my local Kmart, but they did not have any. I don't think they ever got them in stock in the first place.
 
If anybody finds a copy of Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap for GBA for $7, let me know, I'd like to buy it.

My local kmart is pretty bare on GBA games

Some office supplies on 90% off. I picked up a bunch of Scotch magic tape 2-pack for $0.19 each.
 
A bunch of the Kmarts around here had mailing supplies for 50-90% off a while ago. I'm just glad I didn't buy up buttloads of them, since I haven't needed them with guide and game sales/trades being SLOW.
 
I bought every bubble mailer they had (around 50) when they had the clearance on USPS supplies, can't beat $0.17 - $0.21 each especially since they were really good quality compared to the Scotch ones I get a Sam's Club.

I wonder if those are the holiday ones (packaging is regular looking). They were only 50% off at my local K-Mart, maybe I should check again.

Christmas went to 90% off but candy was only 75%, kind of hard to pay over $0.50 a bag when Target had all the candy you wanted for $0.19 a bag with the printable coupon a few weeks ago

It's probably out of the system by now, but if you have a knowledgable clerk, they can use the pricing gun to look up the last price and give it to you for that. My one friend from Illinois told me the procedure, step by step, on how to look up old prices.

I kind of confused and annoyed the one clerk by reciting it word for word when I had them scan a game which was out of system. It irked them that I knew how to look it up and they didn't. Unfortunately, I have since forgotten the procedure.

Christmas '06 at my Kmart, they had 5 PSones "pennied" out. The system has them as .01, which is when you'd send them back to the company (or they'd get written off, AKA trashed). We sold them for $10 each, 90% off the last listed price ($100 for the math challenged). At least I think it was the $100 tag, I don't remember if they officially dropped to $50 beforehand or not.

Anyways, I have one of those 5 PSones in my attic in the box, for no reason at all besides just having it.

And to find out prices, you go into the pricing gun and go to Item Query, which lists a KSN Price, which was the last listed price, unless of course it has been removed from the system entirely, which I don't think has happened yet.

I was looking at the list yesterday. I remember all of the Simpsons movie-themed stuff went to either 75 or 90% off, along with the scotch tape already mentioned (I believe it was in just for Christmas, hence the drop) and other things like 60 #2 pencils for 50 cents among other things.

My K-Mart got rid (or moved) all the office stuff. Instead, the gardening section was flowing in from the outdoors.

Anyway, got Valkyrie Profile 2 for $15 from the Farmingville, NY K-Mart.

I'm guessing my Kmart doesn't update anything. Quake 4 scanned at $40 today. The cheapest game was Condemned for $20. I scanned my printed out UPC for Chromehounds and it came up at $7, but sadly there was not a Chromehounds in sight.

I found one at my local Kmart and after trying it out and going 'wtf, why is this crap so overhyped?', I traded it to FYE during their last additional 20% trade deal. I got about $24-36 for the three games combined. I broke up the set, since the set by itself only gets about $15 total.
 
Just picked up Amplitude for $10, Tales of Legendia for $7 and Polarium for $3 at the White Plains, NY KMart. Quite a sweet haul. They had a sealed copy of Psychonauts but it was still ringing up for $29.99 so I'll wait for that puppy to drop.

I would have asked the employees to scan more games for me but I didn't want to overstay my welcome.

Aye hopefully. They had a treasure trove full of games but they were stacked in a way that I could only see the front stack nearest to the security glass. The manager was the person that opened up the case for me and commented that the older games were to be further clearanced. I'll have to visit this store more often.

On another note, I found a lone copy of Gameshark for the PS2 for $13. I wasn't sure if it was worth it so I left it. Also, two copies of No More Heroes which I found oddly placed next to some Blu Ray movies.

You may want to print out a barcode and scan it at another KMart (if you have any others nearby) and buy it then return/rebuy at a different store. If you can find it cheaper at another KMart that is.

Also... Did you really need to say it was sealed? ;):lol:

First time CAG moment since registering here:

I drove by K-Mart in Stevensville, MD (Eastern Shore), and saw a giant 60% Clearance sign out front so I said what the heck let's see what they have. Well, about a half an hour later and after searching through countless clearanced probably YMMV-priced games, I found the golden nugget of them all. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for GAMECUBE (would've been nicer for Wii) marked WITH CLEARANCE TAG for...

Wait for it...


$14.99!!!!

At the register it rang up as $49.99 and the cashier just casually called over the manager, who did a quick override and typed in the labeled price of $14.99.

The funny thing is I don't even have a Gamecube, but I figured why not. If anyone is really interested, I might consider a trade (would be first trade here, but I've traded/sold MANY things online before on fleabay, etc) I am especially looking for Just Cause, Saints Row, and a Lego Star Wars game (either version) all for 360.

So, probably EXTREMELY YMMV:

Wow, I actually noticed a copy of that jammed way back in the racks at my local Kmart. I already have it but at 14.99 it would make a great gift for my sister. I'll have to check it out today.
 
Did anyone else notice older clearanced DS games ringing up an additional 20-25% off? The Kmart in Chantilly, VA was either having a YMMV additional clearance sale or something. I noticed Contact, Chicken Little and possibly Meet the Robinsons ringing up maybe an additional 20 or higher % off? FYI in case anyone else wants to try. Didn't seem like any other system was ringing w/an additional clearance. This acutally happened on Monday.

My Kmarts have gone to the 'spine out, games are in ONE row' method, which makes it easier to see the prices on the stickers, as long as they're on the spine.

EDIT: I forgot something before when I typed this all up. If your Kmarts have any Christmas stuff left, most of it is 75%-90% off now. So, if you need to stock up on Christmas cards for next year, get them while they're hot cause they had decent sized packs for a meager TWENTY NINE CENTS a pop.

Picked up Splinter Cell :360: for $10 they had another copy or two left. Also picked up Persona 3 :ps2: they had a copy or two left of that as well. P3 was full price, but is a uber rare game I think. They really didnt have much else.

i know a store that has it, but sells it for $29.99. then another store i checked sells it for $2.15. i could probably get it price adjusted but they might give me some trouble doing so.
 
Just a couple of price updates, I got FIFA World Cup 06 and LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth for $15. It would be nice if these games signaled drops for all prices, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Just found Prince of persia: Sands of time for the xbox for $2. Also, the Donkey kong bongos (No game) appear to be out of the system. I found a pair and the lady their let me buy them for $10.
 
Went back to the local Super K... snagged Baiten Kaitos Origins for $10 (Only one in case with a single reduced tag taking it from $39.99 to $10). It rang up for full price, so I had to wait for a manager override... in which the manager spent a good minute staring the box down before keying in her number and all.

Also picked up the last Viva Pinata faceplate I saw for $6. Now my 360 feels all sexy. :D
 
Went to kmart earlier today and was pleasantly surprised to find Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins for PSP ring up for $3. Needless to say I picked up a couple

Nothing really good at the Kmart on the northern side of Fort Wayne. I checked FFVI, but it is still $29. I'm really wanting that to drop.
 
I live in Tennessee...and BOTH of the K-Marts I visited had the old prices, dangit. I found TWO copies of Persona 3 but they were still $49.99! I was so excited until the guy checked the price for me, lol. Thankfully I have a friend who is a manager at one of them so whenever the prices or clearance starts he is going to let me know.

I'm not sure what you were expecting, but Persona 3 is not on clearance at Kmart - there is no 'old' or 'new' price. People are buying it for the standard $49.99 price since it costs $60-$70 to get on eBay and is out of stock at most other stores. That's not to say they won't clearance it at some point, though it would not be necessary if they knew anything about games ;).
