[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them (and they don't have restickered UPCs - see point 3 below) they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: http://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way). What we are currently missing is a good list of accessories. I have added a few that I know about. We need more info on these (and there must be more to uncover).

In general, I'm sticking with ShiningSlade's method of listing games. However, there are a few changes. Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

I checked Gangs Of London the other night. I already reported on it in post#3758 above.

Oh and Scorch, two of my local Kmarts have 60gb models in stock still. I keep hoping some worker will open the case and misprice it with a price sticker for like $4.99 or $49.99. But, unfortunately, since you can rarely find anyone to open the case @ Kmart, the chances of someone mispricing it are slim to nil.

Just a heads up to everybody, the new clearance list is starting to hit stores. The above post with UG&G priced at $3 tells me some stores might have already made the list active. The list is currently "in the system" at my store, but it has to be approved or something by the store manager before it goes active. I should be able to print it out tomorrow, and with my temporarily haywire sleeping schedule, I might try to post it tomorrow night.

Two things to note:

1. It's a decently-sized list this time, however, I saw virtually NO NEW GAMES on the list. All of the markdowns looked to be further reductions on the already clearanced games (ex. I think UG&G was $15 before, so some of the drops are bigger than normal).

2. This could just be in my region, but a sizeable amount of games are being reduced in a different manner. These games are being slightly reduced, but thsi time they are ending in $xx.97 instead of the traditional $xx.00.

Example:
:ps2: Valkyrie Profile 2
Was: $15.00
Now/Will Be: $12.97

No clue what's going on. Doesn't Sears price their clearance stuff at $xx.97, or does their clearance end in .96/.98 or something? I can never remember.

Which reminds me, I found these games on a separate clearance list dated around 1/23, if they haven't been reported already:

:xbox: Medal of Honor: Rising Sun- $2.00
:ps2: Rise of the Kasai(sp?)- $7.00
:ps2: DBZ: Budokai 2- $2.00(Tip: Kmart has 2 versions of this game, you're looking for the one without the giant 14.99 white/red sticker on it and that doesn't have a new UPC stuck over the original UPC)
 
Both of these need verification, apparently, so I picked up Crush $20 and Sega Genesis PSP $15 as listed. I also got Point Blank DS, but at my store, it was $5, not $7.
 
Oh, sweet. One of my local KMs just went through a huge reorg of the video game department that makes lots of stuff easier to find... the new list should make for some fun.

And yeah, Sears is the one that clearances at xx.97.
 
Rise of Kasai is FINALLY dropping? Hell must be freezing over...I wonder if Mark of Kri finally will drop too. That thing has been on clearence for almost 2 years at $21.
 
Not sure if this counts but I saw a 2 copies of Rumble Roses XX (whatever the 360 version is) for $14.xx. It was tagged with a yellow sticker.
 
I doubt you'd need to hide them...at every Kmart I've been to, they're sitting out and have been in plain, searchable sight for 18+ months, and they still have the same 5 copies sitting there.
 
The kmart near me at work must have 15 copies of Mark of Kri sitting out in plain view and not behind glass. They've been there forever. Hiding is definitely not necessary, at least for that game.

the thing is though is it actually going to get that cheap, my point was they have a ton of them used so if you want it that bad it is cheap that way
 
Oh. It sounded like you were asking if you should hide it in your first response...

I'm not dying to play it, but I'd grab it at like $3-4 new if it hits clearance and Kmart runs a 30% coupon again soon. I don't buy much used from EB/GS, even at those prices. Chances are I'd have to go to a few stores to find complete and mint copies too...
 
I saw the new list last night, so here's a bit of what I remember.

360 games:

And there's more, but that's just off the top of my head.
 
Yeah, I went to K-Mart yesterday and got Meteos for $12.97.

This new $x.97 pricing makes me think that K-Mart is taking on Sears prices, or just using some new pricing system instead.

This also suggests to me that this is why we haven't seen the 30% clearance sale in a while. That sale might be dead if they're using this new system.

But you might wanna go around checking prices on older games that have been stuck at high prices, like MGS3S, and see if they're finally gotten a deserved drop.

Please, can we get some feedback on whether or not your stores ring up with clearances priced $x.00 or $x.97? Plus we need to see how well prices are syncing with Sears prices.
 
Only certain games are ringing up xx.97. Elite Beat Agents is $12.97, and Valkyrie Profile 2 rings up for the same price. Chromehounds and Tomb Raider: Legend on the Xbox 360 are now $3 each. It seems pretty random. Oh, and FFIV GBA is $3 as well.
 
It's not random.

The "earliest" set of drops would be when games got stuck at 75% off - examples would be Disgaea 2 at $12, Rogue Galaxy at $10 and Legendia at $7. These are now 90% off, meaning MOST of the $12 games will be $5, the $10 games will be $4 and the $7 games will be $3.

Then, they just randomly marked down a set of games to $20, then dropped them again to $15 while marking down another set to $20 (ie Valkyrie Profile 2 at $15, Winning Eleven 2007 at $20). This is the set that took on "Sears" clearance pricing.

I made a trip to my store 2 days ago hoping to snag some low-priced games, but the entire gaming section was in boxes and shopping carts. The clerk said it was time to take all the older games out and re-stock the whole thing again...looked like some serious work ahead for him! As I was walking out of the electronics dept, something told me to take a look in the glass case and lo and behold......Tetris DS!!:D Read in another thread here how those had become non-existent "in the wild", so I was more than happy to pay the normal $29.99 to obtain it. I looked for additional copies, but it was the last one. I'll be checking back later, as I'm figuring they'll be markdowns galore, but overall I'd still say it was an excellent trip:bouncy:

Which K-mart? My g/f and I have been looking for this title for her new DS since Christmas without any luck. She really wants it, which is surprising, since she's not really a hardcore gamer. But she absolutely loves Tetris. I feel bad that I can't find it for her. :cry:
 
Kmart in Clifton Park NY

Not too much here but there was 2 copys of Hulk Ultimate destuction for $4. I picked up one. Not much else on clearnce though scanned all for 360 Sonic, Viva pinata at $19.99, Godfather, GRAW $29.99
 
I'm tempted to check my local Kmart, but they don't mark anything, and the employees are clueless. They didn't even know about the extra 30% sale when it was happening. Not a single sign was up.
 
green bay, wi. picked up 20G 360 hard drive for 25.00 and Intec gamecube wireless/rechargeable controller for 7.00 - best deals i've seen for a while.

Snagged the last 2 copies of Persona 3 for PS2 (one for me and the other for my coworker). It was still at retail price but seeing how hard this game is to find, I had to get it. Also saw about 3-4 copies of Valkyrie Profile 2 (look at the very back on the bottom shelf of the PS2 section) but they were still ringing up at $19.99. This was at the Riverside, Cali store off of Arlington.

Snagged Tetris DS and Persona 3 at full retail this afternoon. The guy running the electorics section let me thumb through all of the racks but there was nothing else in there worth a crap.
 
You gotta love K-Mart and their dumb ass pricing. I had to laugh this afternoon when I saw a copy of NBA 07 for the PSP in the glass case on "clearance" for $49.99! (it had a yellow clearance sticker on it with that price)

Well, I went to a Kmart the other day for the first time in a while. I got a bunch of things checked but since CAG has been down so long I forgot most of it.

I did verify :360: Tomb Raider Legend at $3. Valkyrie Profile was the new "Sears pricing" of $12.97. Moto GP 06 was unchanged at $7 - so not all the $7 games dropped to $3, that's for sure. Several others were still $7 or $10 or back to retail price (I think Superman Returns and Prey were back to $19.99/$29.99).
 
Can we make a new updated list of the current games on sale? I would love to pick up a few new ones for

I got Prey, Chromehounds, and Table Tennis for $3, but PDZ and Kameo were still $7. I also got Final Fantasy IV GBA for $3.
 
I think it's pretty much the same ones that have "been on clearance" for the past few months. I haven't seen anything new.. Just rummage through the posts and youll find out :)

I posted about a bunch of them being on clearance a page or two ago(with the forums set @ 50 or so posts per page), though most were just down to $10-20 off retail and most of it was sports anyway.

I know Madden 08 and The Simpsons Game were both $49.99. I don't recall any other prices though, though I do vaguely remember the newest Tony Hawk was on clearance already too.

I think everybody(including IO) just ignored the post, since it wasn't any major games and most were just close to retail. But, as we all know, once something starts to drop on clearance pricing(save for Mark Of Kri or Rise Of the Kasai for PS2, whichever one was stuck @ $21 forever), it usually gets cheap enough eventually for most of us to spring for.
 
Well, for some reason I can't edit the OP (it just shows up blank when I hit Edit) so maybe I'll just make a new thread. Though I am traveling this week for work (with hopefully the opportunity to check out a few new Kmarts) so we'll see how that all goes...
