[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

I expect the prices to be high, it being an island, but my pay will be higher to compensate.
The cap for my rank for rent will be $2100.00 a month. I can find a NICE place for that much. And my $6-or-$700 a month for incidentals and utilities should cover my bills with money to spare for (hopefully) clearanced games.

i believe this is true because i been pallet load of games and other stuff from liquidators / third party that have tags /sticker / upc from sears , kmart , walmart , target , costco, sam clubs , fred meyers , and many more

I guess I shouldn't mention(again) that I found one of them buried in the bottom of the case at one of my closer Kmart stores last year. I traded it to another CAG for a sealed copy of a game that just came out maybe a month prior.;)

Sears also had them on clearance as well.

As of yesterday when I left my store in Oregon City we had at minimum 3 copies for all systems still in stock if you wanna make the drive. 503-655-7050 if you want to call and confirm quantities prior to going, when asking it might be best to specify that they are located on the top shelf of the clearance, or 19.99 and under, side counter to avoid anyone not seeing them.

I don't think it's a conspiracy against CAG, but I DO think CAG has probably made itself known to the world at this point (along with FW). As a result these companies are realizing the value to themselves of beingore savvy about their clearance behavior. They're more picky about what gets clearanced, and more careful about depth of clearance, etc. Additionally I agree that they seem to be more actively seeking alternatives, like selling to liquidators etc.

I don't think it's personal against sites like CAG, but I do think it's a response to what we've shown them - that the value of the games justifies a more measured approach than the good old days of markdown-markdown-markdown. All they have to do is mark it down once and they'll have free advertising on this and other boards for months...

Best Buy is probably the most obvious example. We know theyonitor these boards, and I can't even remember the last time they had a legitimate clearance sale.
 
My store has a kings ransom of Pure and Dead Space games which have been sitting at the 19.99 price point for as long as I can remember....

I've also noticed they are getting pretty strict on their "Manager's Specials". This use to be a gold mine of great games at 50-75% off. The 4 BB's near me haven't had one in months and most of their new "so called" clearance games are shovel ware or can be purchased much cheaper than $14.99 somewhere else.

I doubt the majority of K-Mart's employees even bother to check their internal site... the employees at my local store can't even bother to read the ad when its right in front of them. Every time I go into K-Mart to get a deal, whether its blog based or ad based, the employee (and it's different every time) has zero idea about it. If they can't take the time to open the ad, when it's right on their register, I doubt they will take the extra steps needed to check an outside site.

Case in point, I went and got Transformers yesterday, it came with a free comic. The employee had no idea, and when I showed her the ad, she pointed to the drawer under the register and went "Ohhhhh, so THAT'S what these are for!!" and pulled out the comics. This was at 1 pm, on a new release that got a very large segment in the ad that's been out since Sunday. That employee definitely can't be bothered to go check an internal site if she can't check out an ad.

I think a lot of people are giving K-Mart employees far too much credit. The other K-Mart threads are full of stories about equally clueless employees.

I haven't been back to a Kmart since the clearance cycle seems to have stalled. I figured the $4.97 games would be $1.97 or $.97 by now. If they get to that point eventually though I'll grab all dem shitz and if anyone still cares about them by then I'll toss up a few for cost + shipping.
 
Found at a store I only visit about once a year:

DDR Disney bundle (Wii) - $19.99
Lips bundle (360) - $19.99
AC/DC Rock Band (360) - $4.99

Saw a few other PSP and Wii accessories on clearance, also.
 
Interestingly enough, KMart is requiring their employees to spend time on this internal network. No more than 10 minutes a shift, and you get paid for doing it. That way, they can control your freedom of speech. If you say anything bad, you can be "written up" for it. Retarded.

As far as any clearance drops, I haven't seen any in the longest time.. But then, none of my local stores have anything anymore. :/

How exactly did you get it for 1.00? Im guessing the thing has entered into the phase where its 90% off but you got lucky because its 90% off the initial retail price not the last known drop price, in this case the 10.00 its ticketed for. If that game sold for 59.99 initially then it should have never dropped below 5.99, or atleast thats the way all the stores out here conduct their markdowns.

That's like when I worked for Wally World back in the day. They had you constantly taking quizzes and other crap like that on their own internal site. It was quite hilarious since the brainwashing didn't work on many, but at least you were getting paid to sit there and intentionally fail their quizzes repeatedly.:lol::booty:

It was a nice respite from helping lazy asses have you act like their own personal shopper and basically just ask you to lead them to the items on their shopping list(or in the worst cases you were like a gofer and they blurted out what they were looking for and stood there waiting till you got it FOR them).:roll:

lol....back in the day (1998) i was "let go" from Ace Hardware because i wouldnt fill out a daily survey including questions like "how do you treat customers? how do you respond to customers? how are you feeling today? how are your coworkers helping you out?? etc etc etc", so i believe this BS

Which tells you how clueless BB is, since they paid for my PS3, Plasma TV, and all the games and accessories I've bought in the last 6 months just off of their free or severely discounted games :D

Wal*Mart is the devil of main retail like Gamestop is the devil of gaming retail. They take $.20 off an item and call it a 'clearance' price.:lol: Although they did have some pretty decent deals on baked goods on a rack by the Subway located in the back of the store.

The funniest thing that got me laughing(and wishing I had a camera to snap a picture of it)was just after 9/11 they were selling flag kits to cash in on all of the people wanting to grab one and guess where they were made: CHINA!:lol::roll:

doesnt suprise me at all.....i dont know whats worse, cashing in on a tradegy, or selling american flags, to show your pride, patriotism, but actually supporting china.......
 
Returned the Lips bundle I bought last weekend to my local store. I went back to the electronics section, and noticed 4 more of the bundles locked up in the case. I guess mine will be joining his buddies soon.

Good deal on the Rock Band 2 cymbal expansion ($11.99), if you have a RB2 drum kit. I don't, so I didn't buy it.

Why did you do that? $20 is a great price on it. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoy it as well. Bought it for the wife and I don't sing in RB/GH, but I am having a blast.

It was an impulse buy. I might get it again in a couple weeks, if it drops again, but I'm not sure if my wife would play it. Can't see myself enjoying the game by myself.:D
