Current Deals: I do not have any end dates, but it looks like Moviestop is currently running a B3G1 Free promotion on used items. Also all used anime is 40% off. The promotions stack with their discount card, but the 40% anime won't stack with the B3G1
Also, i dont think the 50% off a $12 or less purchase coupon would work either.
I haven't seen those 50% off coupons in any store for a few months now. Have they started putting them back out in EB/GS around the area?

Thanks for the heads up on the sale, I'm guessing this is their July 4th promo then?

No, i kept a master coupon so i can make as many copies as I want. There was no expiration date; so i figured why not.

Yea, seems like this'll be their promo for the 4th.

It'd be better if the prices weren't totally jacked up to the moon. I went to buy some Witch Hunter Robin singles and they were bumped up to $15 from their previous price of $10. Other anime titles (and a few horror movies I checked) had significant price jumps.

MovieStop started offering the B3/G1 promotion again this week, but I didn't think to ask how long the sale will last.

I do the 4 for 19.99 all the time..my method is to go to gamestop and buy their 1.99 DVDS (with the B2G1) and then go to movie stop. I get new releases for about 5-6 this way. And if they're seasons i usually only pay about 8-11.00

Its Gamestop's movie store. Theyre mainly in the SE. I've updated the OP with the only store location list i have (its a year old)

I was able to get 40 movies at CC, brought them to Moviestop and ordered the following:

Blu-Ray

Paprika
Badder Santa
Omega Man
Masters of Horror Vol 3
Masters of Horror Vol 4
Blade Runner
Led Zeppelin

HD-DVD
Anchorman
Tremors
Old School

10 BR/HD's for $13.28 each after tax. Not too bad at all. I may go back later in the week. I want to order War & Pan's Labryinth as well

If they give away eye patches for the POC:AWE release I am so there. I won a Optimus Prime standup at the Transformers midnight release.

so wait is moviestop STILL doing the promotion with the trade in 4 get 19.99 credit towards new releases?? please someone let me know ASAP!

and do they accept movies without their original cases for this deal?

From what i understand, most stores are shutting down the deal, but it cant hurt to ask.

I'm not sure about them taking disc only stuff.

well luckily, i called my store and they ARE still doing the promo! joy! so ill be heading up there friday and trading in some stuff to put towards a pre-order for Paprika which im dying to see...big fan of Satoshi Kon

Which deal are you referring to, the trade 4?

I thought it was more special when it was trade 3, but i guess they lost a lot of money on that. Trade 4 isnt bad, however from what i heard, there may be another new rule that all dvds have to be worth $1.50 value to qualify. I just hope it doesnt happen.

Damn... I missed it. Would've loved to pick up some Blu-Ray Kubrick. The Prattville store usually doesn't seem to know what specials are going on though.

to anyone who cares, moviestop (at least the one in kennesaw/marietta) is still doing the Trade 4 movies get credit towards a new movie promotion. I'm gonna trade a bunch of dvds in and get Paprika Blu-Ray :whistle2:D

I updated the op, apparently all stores will still be doing the Trade 4, but they are no longer allowed to advertise it.

Also, they have a new rule that all trades must be worth $1.50 in value. Really puts a damper on my budget dvd flipping...

Brand new Movie Stop just moved in by me. They are having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on everything in the store. Any oop rare suggestions to look for?

My suggestions are to look for the transformers Generation 1 season sets, Gi Joe season sets, and maybe even the Gem season sets. Actually any animation season set fro Rhino DVD
Also the OOP disney dvds like pinocchio, snow white, and the fantasia box set.

Just a few from the top of my head that I know are hard to get and great trade bait.

I would also like to add there is a Store in Philadelphia at Cottman and Bustleton Ave's were the old Blockbuster use to be. Sorry I don't have the exact address and phone number but I will get them whenever I get a chance to stop in the store again.

I guess even though theyre up to around 40 stores nationwide, they dont wanna bother with making a site. I wish they would because buying dvds off of Gamestop.com is a p.i.t.a..

Statement retracted because I'm fraking blind. The moviestop in Wilmington, NC now has blue "HD Movie" signs beside the blue "Blu-Ray" signs, so it looked like they didnt' have any HD-dvds. Yea, I'm a retard...

Hmmm... anyone have the updated price for Planet Earth? I'm going by later to take a look at a few things. How about used price drops? Are the new drops to $9.99 to $14.99 the used or new price? Although a subsidiary of Gamestop... I have to say, I've never seen a flaw on a used Moviestop disc. Thanks for the info OP!

HD prices have definetly not dropped here. I've seen some stuff like 2001 for $10, but any semi-popular/newer release is still $20+.

I'll check again on Wednesday, but I doubt I'll find anything worth buying.

Let me through this out to anyone, maybe my Moviestop just sucks.

The Moviestop here in Wilmington, NC is located directly beside a Gamestop. There isn't a time I haven't been in Moviestop that someone hasn't asked the question "Can I use my Gamestop credit over here at Moviestop, since you are part of the same company?" Every single time, the answer is "No, you can use our credit over there, but not their credit here. Since we are not the same company and our computers are setup completely different, the credit can't be read and sued. But, you can use your Edge card to save an additional 10% off of all purchases."

And everytime I scratch my head in amazement at this. They have even thrown out that "Gamestop and Movies Too are NOT REAL Moviestops!" Has anyone else encountered this? My bro said that they just don't like me (they recently converted a GS to a Moviestop near him from what he said), but they do this to everyone who asks...and people asks at least 2-3 times everytime I'm in there.

I've witnessed the same thing. I've also witnessed the same response. It doesn't make any sense.. and hell, they are even advertising a job fair at my local store on a flier for Gamestop AND Moviestop. Who knows. Then again.. attempting to devise any sort of logic in Gamestop megacorp is a little bit of an impossibility. You would think that they would support a new business line in order to spur expansion with credit from their primary line of business.

I have a feeling that like many Gamestop store credit situations (the Rhino to Gamestop or EB credit to Gamestop credit situations come to mind), are similar to this one: it can be done, but the employees simply do not know how.

It mainly is that they want you to spend your money there. Barnes & Noble is owned by Gamestop as well; and while you can buy used games from B&N's website, you cant use GS credit on there either.

The locations in the OP are all I have. Stores around here only give locations for the state. Searching on Google, Mapquest or White/Yellowpages might help.

Just went to Moviestop over here in Orlando and Planet Earth on HD DVD was $29.99 used. I picked it up because with the 10% discount, it becomes the cheapest price I've seen for it yet. Didn't notice any drastic changes to the used prices though. The cheapest used price was still $9.99 for King Kong. Otherwise, most the movies were $19.99 and up used.

Also picked up all three Resident Evils on Blu Ray for $52. It's a little pricey, but I just wanted to bite the bullet and buy it.

And for those wondering, it appears as if the B2G1 sale for Blu Ray is only for certain titles. The ones off the top of my head that I remember are: Patriot, Resident Evil (1,2,3), Die Hard (could be all of them but only saw 1,2,3 on the table), Simpsons Movie, Paprika, 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Fifth Element, Layer Cake, Hellboy, Spider-Man 3, Casino Royale, and Surf's Up. I know there are a few more but I just don't remember them.

As far as pricing is concerned, most of them were $29.99 which doesn't make this that great of a deal. I do remember that Resident Evil 1&2, Patriot, Fifth Element, Casino Royale, Layer Cake, and Hellboy were between $20-22 though, so if you can pick up a few $20 flicks, this might be worth it.
