Since the Southern CA Thread is up, I figured it might be a good idea to post a thread for the locals of the Bay Area. Maybe we can do some face-to-face trades, make posts of inventory in various local stores, post any local sales, etc.

Send me a PM and I will put your name on the list below (PM's are easier for me to keep track of everyone). I will send you a confirmation when I put your name on the list.:
Sooo... how was everyone's 'Fourth of July' festivities? ;)

I didn't go anywhere this year. We all stayed home to BBQ, listen to music, and watch the illegal neighborhood fireworks.
We were planning to go watch the Stanford fireworks from one of the roofs on campus, but the show got canceled (?) so we went to a nearby hill where we could see a few of the shows out over the bay. There was also a barbecue and some Wii played. First time I've had a full group together to play the latest incarnations of Smash Bros. and Mario Kart. Online is nice, but it just doesn't compare. :)

OMG yes... I can wait for the release of that game! That and FFIV DS, Chrono Trigger DS, Kirby Superstar DS, SoulCalibur IV... There's so many games coming out for the old-school gamer in me, it's crazy! :D

They can't release 4 yet, I still have to play Persona 3! I actually haven't touched the series since the first one on PS1, but I heard such good things about 3 that I went ahead and picked up FES.

I don't like that Square is re-remaking a FF game instead of making an original title, but FF4 is my favorite so I have to play it. CT I can probably pass on, though, especially since it looks like it will be a straight 2D port, unlike FF4.

I can't wait for SC4, though. :D It sounds crazy but I might be looking forward to that more than I was for GTA or MGS. Can't wait to try it with my new stick, too. I tested it a bit earlier with Tekken 5 and SC3 and it was fabulous. :joystick:

So it was worth 100$?

Anybody else going to see The Dark Knight at The Metreon on the 18th at midnight or 3:30 AM? I'll be at the 3:30 AM showing :).

Oh man, I almost forgot about Kirby Ultra Super Delux, or whatever the japanese are calling their version. That and Persona 4 are def gonna get picked up by me.

Now all I need to do is stop procrastinating, and beat Persona 3 FES.

I can tell it's going to be fantastic. I keep working my way up the arcade stick hierarchy and this is the most solid one yet. I used to have an X-Arcade (I know) and while I can't perceive the lag input everyone says those suffer, one issue with it was that it wasn't heavy enough and could move around during fast motions. This one is basically glued to the table, plus the stick and buttons feel great. I'm looking forward to hours of SC4/Tekken/CvS3. (Some day!)

i wanna check that user side place out so i'll probably try to pick up that other hrap3 while im down there. at $99 that sucker is begging for some sanwa parts.
Thanks for the heads up, bzchan. I definitely never would have found that place otherwise. :applause::bow:
Glad i could help, oh and if you wanted a DS3 you should have just asked. They have a bunch and i mean a bunch in silver, white, and black for 59.99 its a little extra but since they so damn hard to find its worth it.

They will order you any japanese/asia video game stuff you want within reason, just expect to put money down if you want preorders and stuff. Get the sku and stuff take it to the store and awesomeness will happen.

If you dont find what your looking for there at userside theres a little shop in the same little shopping mall called Saitek or something and they have lots of DS games and Wii import stuff. As well they give you the awesome little goodies you'd normally get with the games if you were in japan. They dont carry too much accessories but they carry the games.

The Gunmetal PS3's were preordered and they had one on display but its gone. They have a lot of the import MGS4 special editions as well.

Hope your enjoying your new stick metaly you'll have to let me play with it one day :p

Now I'm starting to drool about how amazing that area sounds. I wonder if there are any places like that near SF.

So, who's your favorite SoulCalibur character you guys? :D

Mine is Rapheal... I don't know why really, I like the way he fights with his rapier. ;)

My favorite characters were the shop girls -wink wink nudge nudge-

I use Xianghua, tee hee. Siegfried is my second and I can do moderately well with Tira and Yoshimitsu. I'd like to learn Kilik, Raphael, Seung Mina and Hilde if I have time, but it takes me so long just to get past the button-mashing phase. :cold:

I plan to spend hours and hours playing SC4, though, especially in character creation. Can't wait to recreate some of my SC3 guys on the PS3. :)
I need to make Pope John Paul II, which is my favorite of the custom characters I've made in SC3. Him and Michael Jackson.

I actually need to load up my SC3 save to see if I made anyone people might recognize. A lot of them were just my own characters I'd been drawing forever. Game-wise, I think I made Lucca from CT, Citan from Xenogears, and Flik from Suikoden. My girlfriend made Captain Picard and Gandalf. Oh my god what a nerd.

Nice! :applause::lol:

I have to come up with some new characters this time around for SC4. I have to see what the game has available, clothing and accessory wise, to see what I have to work with.
I really want to make Kratos and Homer Simpson, but we'll see... ;)

Anybody notice that the Fry's ads for 7/3-7/7 were never posted on the Mercury News website? I wonder if they had some dispute, or if it was as simple (and stupid) as the ad-posting guy/gal taking off for the holiday and nobody thought about backup.

It's a 70 mile roundtrip, so I don't go unless I see some great deal in the ad online.

Thanks, Fry's/MercNews, for saving me money!

I use Kilik and Talim primarily, especially if I feel like showing off. I'm pretty good with Raphael and sort of learned to use Tira. Hot dangerous hula hoop action FTW.

I'm not quite sure if I want SC: Star Wars edition yet. I mean it doesn't even have any DC comic characters in it so who knows if it'll be good.

While I managed to get over the Star Wars characters (I actually think Vader is kind of cool), it disappoints me that unless Namco's been keeping secrets up until the very end, it looks like Hilde is the only addition to the permanent roster. She does sound really cool, but come on, one new character, Namco?

Just for fun I got the original SC for Xbox today, partly to sort of refresh my skills and also because I've never played it. It's still a lot of fun and I can see why it blew everyone away when it first came out. Sucks playing with the 360 controller, though. :whistle2:?

I'm also not much of an achievement junkie, but I did have to power through time attack mode to get Ring Out!! :)

BBQ today in Mill Valley. Very very nice day. I also incidentally had a date with a hot Norwegian girl who's interning in SF for the summer. Lasted from Friday night until this morning. Excellent weekend overall :)
It was fun though, I conquered my fear of Medusa and Kong.
I don't think I'll ever ride Medusa... Too scary for me! :bomb:

I actually just got invited to Great America today and was like, yeah! Then wait... haven't there been a bunch of roller coaster fatalities/decapitaitons in the news lately? I know it's incredibly unlikely but it freaks me out.

I haven't been to Great America in probably ten years, too. I should go.
I went to Gilroy today! SO HOT! It still is.
Is it the same everywhere?
I gotta take a trip there one of these days and hit up the Nike outlet

The fatality you speak of is that of a moronic kid who climbed two fences and was trying to jump up and grab a friend's feet who was on the ride. He got his noggin lopped off. As long as you're not already braindead like he was, I figure you'd be fine at a place like that ;)

Don't forget, it was the Batman ride.

No one can fuck with Batman and his roller-coaster.

Hey everyone!

Haven't posted in over 2 weeks due to moving to a new place.

Metaly: That import shop off of Saratoga is a nice place. I picked up a black and white Dual Shock 3 before the US ones came out. They cost me $54.99 and I figured that since the US price is near the same, why not get them early? Funny you guys mention that place since I work near there... visit if you ever have the urge to play poker or blackjack... ;)

Lots of good stuff coming out this summer/fall and I'll be pre-ordering a bunch. Still working on Dragon Quest VIII and hopefully will be done with it soon.

Oh Leafpanda, I didn't forget about you... I'll take a new picture of all my stuff soon. \\:D/

If you guys need any EA Hardcover books that recently pennied, just PM me.

Yep. I work over there. I don't deal cards at all but I actually work for the finance company within the casino. As Judy says, try RAMEN HALU. I heard they are really good. It's funny, I've been there for 7 years and I still haven't given the place a try. I probably will soon.

Veronica, funny you mention San Pablo Casino. Our company works there as well. Any of you 21 or older CAGers that need a job, Garden City always hire (they're under new management now) and it's not a bad job. Lemme know if you're interested. :p

You gotta love 80% off games...

I was at Best Buy today and grabbed Halo, Halo 2, DDR Ultramix and GTA: San Andreas.

I also picked up 3 copies of Virtua Fighter IV Evolution for PS2. If any of you CAGers want them, PM me. I'll ship them out for $4.00 each. :D
