Playing through the game (with a walkthrough!) maybe a couple of hours? Playtime is distorted because I've idled it for cards previously.

The first is in Chapter 3 (very short), the second is in Chapter 5 near the beginning.

Adventure games aren't really my thing. It was nice to try something for a change of pace, but I don't think I'll shift anything up my backlog anytime soon.

The SteamPirateshop map didn't pop the achievement for me. Just watch the video instead and do it that way. Very easy. Took 2 minutes and another 20p earned.

I'm loving L.A. Noire. Fantastic, cinematic game. I recommend everyone that has it plays it this weekend, you shouldn't have any trouble getting all the rewards for it by Sunday night.

On the contrary, Star Map is a lot more annoying than I expected.

Not to mention it can completely screw over your experience level - since finding a landmark gives you experience points, which raise your rank... and give you either an outfit or an intuition point. Those intuition points are very important if you want to get a high rating in your case.

But I imagine most people here won't care about that stuff. :p

I really enjoyed that game. The DLC cases add a nice little bit to the game as well.

I'm glad to see they not only ended up putting Fable Anniversary as a Playfire Rewards Special, but that they're letting it run for 16 days.  That should be plenty of time to get 100% achievements (especially since a lot of them can be achieved two different ways).

 
Woohoo, managed to get Johnny On The Spot (LA Noire) just now. Getting through the Homicide cases took a -lot- longer than I thought it would. And the end of that storyline PISSED ME THE HELL OFF, even if I saw it coming ten miles away.

I'll probably try to get Star Map tomorrow. It might take a while.

Which part pissed you off more?

The fact that the truth will never be known or the realization that you were never able to truly arrest the right suspect in all of your previous Homicide cases?

And if that pissed you off wait until you see the ending. LOL

I actually enjoyed L.A. Noire quite a bit, including the story and storytelling, but the end of the Homicide storyline and the ending to the whole game left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I've heard the ending is a hell of a downer. I still want to see it.

In regards to the other achievement - Star Map - I'm currently at about 18/30 landmarks. I already used most of my intuition points getting another achievement, so going for the rest of the landmarks won't screw up my game. I'm just having trouble placing the locations on the map because the photo guides I've found online aren't large enough to let me see exactly where the landmarks are.

I used this map, which shows names of the landmarks as well. If I weren't able to find them, I could at least look them up on the wiki.

Ok, I did some playing with the Warhammer achievements over the weekend.

The 10p achievement for Dawn of War II - welcome to Calderis - is pretty easy. You just need to complete the first two missions. Should take 15 mins tops.

The 20p achievement (Death from above?) needs a little more time as you don't get the rocketjumpy squad until the 6th mission. Even then, it wasn't until the 7th mission that I got the achievement. The trick is to wear down the orks/elder to ~25% health and then jump on them. Any more than that and they survive the attack.

The Space Marine 10p achievement (Glorious Slaughter) will take some time to get as you need to do 75 executions, I have it already from my playthrough. It's a decent game so it's worth your time if you fancy something to get stuck into. Probably 10 hours or so long.

The 20p achievement is probably unattainable by now. It requires you to complete challenges online a la Call of Duty, but the scene is dead. Dead dead dead.

I started the Chaos Rising achievements last night. Will report progress later.
 
My problem with the DoW2 achievement (Calderis) is that I've played most of the game, from the GFWL days... I think I have to play it again from the beginning to get that achievement

My GFWL saves didn't carry over. I suppose it depends how far you're willing to go for 10p. I've done worse things.

I still haven't tried playing since the change, I thought it would be as transparent as Street Fighter: a question about migrating your saved data or not. If my saved games are not there, I will be really mad!

Me, too. I read on SteamGifts and on their forum that we're not alone. So I hope at least that it's just another bug (since it's just the rewards page and not my profile and other pages).

So I was trying to get the Typing of the Dead achievements before the deadline, and one of the lines was "Thanks Obama", which I thought was funny enough to warrant a screenshot, so I press F12, and... it closes the game. Losing all my progress in that level.

I've got a Superman page too. I didn't cheat and I haven't even done any of the rewards in weeks, so I doubt it's anything other than just Playfire breaking the way it seems to do.

They had a bug, that doubled your Playfire credit (but not your GMG one).

I thought if you're banned, you can't even login and your profile page is gone as well?
