My remaining achievements in PHoF are for Black Knight (which is a game I have no love for, and thus why I've not completed it yet), Pin-Bot (which may be harder to complete then Medieval! Getting all the planets AND the extra ball is ... a chore), and Medieval Madness. I was going to go whole hog on MM but got bugged by the moonball-ness of it. But I'll go back to it still. As far as the ball suddenly speeding, that's due to kickers and such. I think the simulation just has the playfield at moonball angle - way too shallow. All they'd need to do is tweak it to have a steeper, normal angled, playfield.
I use to own Whirlwind (I mean the real machine). it's a classic for sure. PHoF's Whirlwind is *way* easier then the real thing. You can make the upper ramp easily in PHoF. It's quite a bit tougher on the real machine.
Thats cool... So you traded Whirlwind for Fish Tales? I am looking into getting my first machine once I save up a little more coin. I was thinking Dracula or T2 for my 1st, but knowing me I will prolly jump on whatever I can find locally at a good price. Fish Tales looks interesting. I have seen Demolition Man go for under a grand and I have fond memories of that one from my youth.
How much did you pay for Whirlwind/Fish Tales?
I think Pinbot is hard than MM to complete the goals. You have to advance all those planets on 1 ball. Then hit that funky shot with the left flipper. That shot is tough. Took me a ton of games to complete it. I played a good game of MM last night and finally got a decent score up on the leaderboards... 709 mil for spot # 72. Just remember to save some troll bombs for Battle for the Kingdom.
