Oh I know I can get it there but the price is too high. As I have already mentioned, I lost the dongle in a move so that's all I need but you can't just buy it separately for like $10 or whatever. Others here have gotten lucky finding them at goodwill and other thrift stores so I am still going the cheapassgamer route. I don't want to pay $30 plus for everything when all I need is that stupid dongle. The game is unplayable without it. I've considered the wired PS2 controllers but they are going for more than I want to spend.

I got a crazy thought for you.   Ebay does have dongles for Guitar Hero for sale solo.

Maybe some research on whether you can use one from a different game.

Will that work? Probably not but maybe worth researching?

 
Don't waste too much effort on the smooth brain ice cube.

I took the leap for my PS4 and got a 2TB SSD. I've got the update file on a thumbdrive. Anything I should know?

Sounds like you're good to go. Just make sure that it's the correct file download. The update alone won't work. You'll need the whole firmware for a new installation, "console reinstallation file". Also name the file and its folder as they instruct.

I did indeed not read properly and got the wrong one. I realize that the system is a bit odd when both have the same filename. Once that was done I had issues with my controller not wanting to connect/USB ports not responding. I couldn't even plug in a wired controller to do setup. Cables I know are good weren't working with controllers on other things to charge them. Reset button, found the highest quality cable I had, checked on PC, finally worked. I have 52 things in my download queue so far. Thankfully I have no data cap.

He must mean they own two PS5s. I can't imagine Mark Cerny not being able to get his hands on two PS5s. Otherwise that comment is completely dumb.

 
Is anyone else having trouble signing into the PS Store/PSN acct? I just logged in a few days ago on another computer without issue and also on my PS3 without issue, but now, it's saying there's a log-in issue when I tried to log in on my work computer. 

EDIT* Nevermind... looks like they automatically assumed it was a hack because my work VPN showed me as being in NJ (which is where our work server is for the day) and they automatically locked by account. Great. Wish they would have given me an option to verify it was legit vs force me to change my password.

Yikes, I'm sure I'm not the first or only person to say it, but holy crap these August PS+ games are straight shovelware.  I'm not even going to clutter up my (already a mess) library claiming them.

Sony is going to need more than that and supply/demand issues to compete with infinite money MS and Disney fandom Nintendo.  How disappointing.  Can't please everyone, but seriously.

To play devil's advocate, you can't compare this to GamePass, you should be comparing it to Games with Gold. I can't remember the last time I looked at that lineup and thought... "WOW, what an amazing addition to my collection!"

On the whole, the monthly PS Plus games have been pretty decent. Sure this month isn't great and there have been other bad months as well... but I am not going to complain that they have to do better just because I don't like this months games or any other games that I probably won't ever play anyway.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree, I have a decent backlog due to PS Plus free monthly games, there are ways to get it for really cheap, and I don't have all that much time to game. For me it's the perfect way to stretch my buck. The Xbox subscriptions are awesome but they cost a little more and I'm too much of a CAG for all that.

Yes, the PS Plus free games to Games with Gold is an apt comparison. XBox's lineup is really solid for August. And quality goes back and forth. This month, Games with Gold are significantly better than PS Plus. Other months it isn't.

So pricewise, you can effectively compared XBox Live Gold to PS Plus because they have similar features. Gold used to regularly be cheap, heck I used points most years to re-up for "free". They were going to jack the price up, but went back on that so you can usually get it at similar deals from the CDKeys type places as you do for PS Plus.

But if you are going to factor in Gamepass Ultimate due to it's higher price as a dutiful CAG, you would have to factor in PS Plus and PS Now to have similar features. You can't just say PS Plus is cheaper than Ultimate because it is missing a key feature - the game library.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is getting a standalone release on 9/3 for $19.99 for those that don't already own Ghost of Tsushima. They're also adding some new modes and content:

First, today we’re excited to reveal Rivals, an all-new mode coming to Ghost of Tsushima: Legends on September 3 (including new Trophies and cosmetics!). In Rivals, two teams of two will compete to defeat waves of enemies. With each defeated foe, you’ll collect Magatama that you can use to harm the other team. For example, you can spend Magatama on Shades to block your opponents’ purchases, Curses (health drain, exploding bodies, etc), Hwacha fire, and more. Once you’ve spent enough Magatama, you’ll unlock Final Stand waves. Complete these before the opposing team to win!

Second, at the same time Rivals launches, we’ll be releasing the Gear Mastery system.

This is a new expansion of the progression systems and rewards for Legends. Players who’ve earned 110-level gear will now be able to bind it to a class and activate “Mastery Challenges.” This will allow a piece of gear’s Ki level to be upgraded to 120 and eventually unlock a second perk slot! As you activate Mastery Challenges, you can also unlock a new Ability and new Techniques for each class.

Starting on August 20 (release date of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut), we’re also releasing an update that will add new features to Legends, including some changes based on feedback from the community. We’ve rebalanced the Survival mode to shorten the session length and added new weekly Survival Nightmare challenge variants. We’ve also unlocked additional cosmetics in Legends for players who’ve earned them in Jin’s story and New Game+.
In addition to all of the above, we’ll be adding a new piece of content each week from September 10 through October 1, including an additional Rivals map, new Survival maps inspired by Iki Island and Iyo’s realm, and Trials of Iyo, a new harder-difficulty version of last year’s Raid that offers challenges in bite-sized chunks, and offers a new set of online leaderboards.

Yes, a very shitty summer sale with more crap added.  These bad sales always seem to last the longest while the good ones usually last a week or were flash sales I tend to miss.

 
Pyre (as well as other Super Giant games) is finally on sale after over a year.  Been waiting for a while for that one

You're not wrong. I became accustomed to actually wanting some of the games. :) Or, even if I didn't want them, they were stuff that looked worth checking out! I can't say that about this month. On the other hand, I don't think I have ever once looked at Games with Gold. I just have the PC gamepass. But, I do have sort of my own "feeling" for who is doing what... and it's undeniable that MS has almost unlimited cash compared to Sony, and Nintendo is its own thing. That's not a knock against Sony. Typically they have been the ones closest to giving me what I want from about 1997 onward when Nintendo dropped that ball (for me personally).

So it ain't Sony hate (or Nintendo hate...), just commentary on a situation that is bizarre and entirely different from previous eras. It is a strange market now with an absurd cost of entry (for any console maker or platform holder), but we also have the nice tapestry of almost innumerable neat indie games to make up for the corporate cf.

So that's where it was coming from more than an "I want more shit to play" place, or that and a habituation to freebies that aren't trash.

Buddy of mine who is working on the game sent me over a few extra Beta codes to give out to friends.  I did but got another set via email when I registered months ago.  So I figured I would share them with you guys.  Simply click the link and it will generate a code to download the PS4/PS5 version of the Closed/Open beta.

If you could quote which code you used that would be awesome so others don't use codes that have already been redeemed.  Once they are all gone I will delete this.

There are two different versions of the Watch Dogs Legion season pass, one for $25.99 and the other for $19.99. I don't understand what the difference is supposed to be.
