I personally don't go for platinums unless I like a game a lot and really want to try for it. But if a trophy doesn't require a ton of grinding/online/3 playthroughs I will probably go for it. Couldn't imaging platting a game I didn't enjoy, though.

So if it was settled why did he post about here? Obviously it bothered him but what does telling the PSN thread solve? The discussion is always one sided on trophies. I wish it were different, but, oh well. Maybe it would have devolved into a silly argument there, but instead what we (predictably) get is a bunch of defensive posts here, lol. Not sure how that's any better.

It's weird because we agree on what's broken with trophies. Note that in my earlier post I said they hold no intrinsic value. I understand what they add (and enjoy them at times), but in no way do I place them with story, performance, design, graphics etc. I'm assuming others (though few in here) feel the same. It's an important distinction, and one trophy enthusiasts shouldn't be offended by. Granted, that guy was rude but I agree with his point. Maybe my feelings will evolve but not until, by your own admission, developers get serious about implementation. But why should they when Sony/Microsoft clearly have set no standards.

Btw, I do think it's fine to consider trophies when making a purchase. It's why I've bought certain games on PSN instead of on the eshop or PC. Same with the price (obviously). I just don't agree with allowing those things to shape your impression of a game. An expensive game eventually goes cheap, and trophies often become unobtainable or glitched. A good or bad game remains so.

I played Payday 1 for a while, but it got old fast. Tried to get into 2 and it just felt exactly like the first one. I think I completely lost interest in about an hour.

Payday 2 is fantastic. I played with a buddy of mine and met some really cool people on there with him. Using mics is pretty much a must for a great experience, not necessarily to do well in the game (though it helps) but for shooting the shit and laughs. The community was surprisingly chill and laid back.

I was excited about the Hardline beta in the hopes it may be taking a page from Payday. I was dead wrong and disappointed.

And to be honest, I only took the title because Tyler was banned and someone needed to step up. Then he didn't even want it back.

I bet post-ban though, I beat Tyler. I was like 150 posts off when he was banned, and then got to within 13, which has to mean I posted way more post-ban than he did. Probably because the mods made him gun shy.

For anyone that cares, I got that platinum award for safe driving with no issues using the rubber bands. It says 30 minutes, and everyone online says you need to do it 30 times for 30 minutes to get the platinum, but I just did 30 consecutive minutes and got it no problem.

Seriously though... the trophy discussion is not always one-sided. It's hard for me to imagine how you come to opinions like this. Is it just because some are more outspoken than others?

What he posted about wasn't really even a trophy argument; the guy pretty much discredited his opinion of a game because he's a trophy hunter. Not the same thing at all.

Are you sure you're not looking at the PS3 version? Vita version is 3.3GB.
