The best part about them announcing the December and January free PS+ games this early is that no one on the internet, especially people in this thread, has any excuse to complain about buying any of those games "right before" they go free on PS+.

I know this announcement will probably boost PS+ subs around the holidays, but it's still an interesting strategy, as anyone "in the know" will not buy any of the announced December and January games in the next two months.

 
Hmm, apparently I bought Steamworld dig on PSN at some point and never even realized. Gonna get LEGO Marvel though since I was hoping for it to be $10 on BF to reacquire it after dumping it off months ago before it was worthless. Planets Under Attack as well since that seems solid enough for 99 cents. Gotta be money better spent than on Hydrophobia or Amy. Also I'm surprised that Home Vita is up a week later but they didn't just launch them at the same time?

It's a good strategy all around. Consumer friendly in that it prevents us from feeling like we've made a bad purchase. They want to drive attach rate on PS+ and being able to say here's the great games you'll get right off the bat will likely help sway those on the fence.

Anyone try to get the DLC bundle for Escape Plan now that it's $5? I bought it, and it shows purchased, but there's no actual link to download it, when I go to my library, it says there are 3 addons, but I can't actually see them, and when I try to play those levels in-game, it says to unlock them in the store.

 
Calling Lego Marvel as a PS+ freebie in February or March. $8 seems like a great way to get a lot of sales before it gets offered for free.

As long as Disgaea 2 isn't on sale, we know what the first stupid complaint on the PS Blog will be. And if it on sale, I'm sure that same person will complain it's not cheap enough.

Rapid Angel is a good PS1 game that most of us haven't played. It's in Japanese, but you don't need to understand any of the dialogue to enjoy it. It's halfway between a run-and-jump Marioesque platform and a Final Fight-style brawler. Very fun game.

Amen. My life is on hold through March. Maybe longer. BoI is amazing and Rebirth should be even better.

There is stuff on sale, lego games, etc. Nothing special, though.

PSP/PS1 games -- what genre? Tactics Ogre? Jeanne D'Arc? Valkyria Chronicles 2? Or if you're looking for more obscure stuff, I really enjoyed Gladiator Begins (PSP) - action game with rpg elements (stats, tons of armor/weapons to find) where it's all arena gladiator combat. Then there's always great games like hot shots tennis. PS1 opens up tons of options too, based on your interests.

You're probably right, but it's still a hard deal to pass up. Especially since you can keep the games if you ever let PS+ lapse. I was looking into buying Lego Marvel and Lego Batman yesterday for Wii U since they have non-split screen co-op (I read that 1 player uses the gamepad and the other uses the TV), but this is a lot cheaper. They're only $5.30ish each after the PS+ discount, and I had $11 in PSN credit from a while back. Really glad I checked this thread today since it was a perfect fit for me.

 
Some nice games this month.  SteamWorld: Dig, in particular, is a lot of fun.  I bought in on or around release.

Also...

My first Vita game is up on the PSN store today, woo!  It can be found in the PlayStation Mobile section of the Vita store. :)

Very tempting to get Lego Marvel for that price but I kinda want a sub $15 disc to rebuy.

Lego LOTR would be a buy if I hadnt gotten it on 360 during the last sale :whistle2:(
